Hey Tyler, I know that you said that you didn’t like the water, but your synergy with it was insane without you even realizing it. You had a perk that made it so that if you kill an enemy which has poison, that poison is applied to all other enemies. You also had constant water in the claw machine and the item poison bath bomb, which would turn the water into poison water, which would turn all the fluff in it into poison fluff, applying 3 POISON PER FLUFF YOU GRABBED. You would easily have been able to use it to apply like 70 poison to an enemy, only for that enemy to die and apply that poison to all the other enemies. The build would be called, *”The Black Death Build”*
It's really refreshing seeing a RU-vidr who actually has the ability to read the screen in front of them play this, nearly every other channel I watch has been god awful at this game.
Tbh he was god awful at this game as well. He kept messing up the grab and didn’t go for any synergies, he started a plastic build but abandoned it halfway through, then the game pretty much gave him a poison build which he then refused to ever use.
From what ive seen thus far in this video (midway through floor 4) the game just seems kind of... really easy? The enemies dont seem to have much damage considering how much block he just accidentally gets and they die super quick from just basic, non synergising upgraded weapons
This is good fun. The balance isn't always quite right: if you get a good build then there's nothing much stopping you going until the game itself breaks but there are plenty of ways to approach each build so there's actually impressive variety for a demo. I posted a play through video using Count Clawcula on my own fledgling channel and had great fun making it.
Honestly surprised that he hadn't already done a video on this yet. One of the rarer times where I've already been playing something he does. It's a fun game for suresies.
The game kind of gets garbage after a few floors when it's just full of so much BS that you just lose because of random chance. Like any pretense of strategy is thrown out the window when enemies are tossing random effects you simply can not plan around. Then you go from full health to like 3 after one turn because that shield you needed went off to narnia even though it lined up perfectly. 43:38 is a perfect example of this; you set up a poison water and the boss just overrides it with its own effect. See what I mean?
It’s kind of a specialty of this channel, especially during the Peglin series, nice to see that editing trick back in full force. This channel is really high quality all around
Editors would speed up more (like 5x or 10x on insane long runs from multi orbs or something) but if he's talking it would keep playing his talking audio during the super fast speedup till he's done @@onecommunistboi
I once got so lucky at a certain claw machine that the manager came out and loosened the grip on it, the funny part was that the grip was already so loose that after he loosened it it couldn’t even hold anything in the machine
17:55 Way more than 5 damage per turn, every poison pickup is. It is 5 _extra_ damage per turn. The first poison is worth 15 damage in 5 turns. The second poison is worth 35 damage in 5 turns. The third poison is worth 55 damage in 5 turns, and so on.
I think he meant that since the fight was almost over, poison isn't as valuable as it was at first And in fact the poison he grabbed that turn only did 5 damage because the boss was dead the next turn before it could damage again
5 damage per turn per shuriken is the ceiling if poison _didn't_ decay, which was what he approximated. The "extra" was moot, as an action's worth being the difference between doing it and not doing it is a given in strategy games. The second poison isn't "worth" 35 damage over 5 turns, as not having it still leaves 10 damage over 4 turns from the first application. It was worth 25 damage, which is understood to be 25 more damage, or 25 additional damage, etc. in 5 turns. For example, if you donate to someone 10 dollars, your contribution wasn't worth their entire savings, it was worth 10 dollars.
@@badrunna-im Had poison dealt constant 5 damage per turn, then 5 stacks of poison would be worth 5 damage per turn some time in the future. But poison deals _as much damage, as there are stacks,_ then decays by one. Since at this point he only had the one Shuriken for poison, I am counting as the poison decays by one between applications. 5+4+3+2+1=15 4+3+2+1=10 9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=45 45-10=35 8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=36 13+12+11+10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=91 91-36=55

Honestly water seems pretty nice. If your weapons are mostly metals like you had I can see why it would be a bit annoying but if most of your good things are plastic or wood I think a water build would be pretty good
I’m not a “soundtrack” kinda guy…. But wow this soundtrack is unreal. I absolutely love this games music. Very epic fight style music. I also love the upgrade styles. It’d be cool to see upgrades that affected the claws themselves as well as the things you can pickup… like maybe a boss relic gives you an extra claw with a downside.. or you get 1 claw less but it’s twice as big.. then there could be upgrades that make the grip strength of the claw stronger. Anything really.. it would be a super cool thing to get to upgrade in the game.

The golden knife was indeed there, it was in the middle, and only the edge was barely visible on top of the fluff. But I don't think the machine starts with all the items inside, cause in that exact round it didn't start with the sword.
Been really enjoying this game & was a nice video on it (well, I'm 80% done so far), but I wonder how the game will continue. Right now the big fun part is just how broken it can get, but it's also kind of an issue that the game is so broken. So if you fix it, it's less fun. If you don't fix it, it's also problematic. I kinda hope they just add additional maps, some sort of different mechanics and maybe slight improvements to avoid utter chaos while still keeping in that chaotic element
This game is really fun to watch (and play, I think). It has the potential to become a series almost as good as peglin... downsides: it has the potential to be a series VERY MUCH like peglin, with long videos to record with no guarantee for a run to turn into something new and interesting enough to warrant a video in the first place.
one of the biggest perks of filling with water is if your build floats it makes grabs easier as sometimes due to the compact nature of the items you can actually reach for your desired item and receive an empty claw
game looks kinda oddly balanced. every enemy seems like a breeze except the final boss. final boss having a mechanic where you are forced to spend a turn picking up (large) items that fill your crane while boss also dishes out nearly 1/3 of hp pool in damage seems kinda bad
Hey Tyler and Fans Rack and Slay just got an update with the new endless mode and I thought it would be nice to inform people. On top of that there is a new enemy, a new item, and Tyler hasnt even played any of the challenges that have unique effects! Idk why you keep saying poison gets WORSE with more stacks; it gets much, much, better the more stacks you add. For example, if you add 5 stacks to someone with 0 poison, that adds 15 total damage, or 3 damage per turn over 5 turns. If you add 5 to someone with 10 stacks already, youd be adding 65 total damage, doing 13 damage per turn over 5 turns. The more stacks you add, the more damage each stack does!
I was yelling at my screen cause you completely ignored the bath bomb even though it could have dealt DISGUSTING amounts of damage Also the BGM gives me Tetris D vibes.
Tried the game mid watching the video. On my first run I achieved easy infinite with golden daggers (and appropriate synergies) that one shot everything eventually. Stopped at floor 36 since the difficulty doesn't scale faster than accumulation of money. Interesting game.
The most op build in the game is the gold build, you stack 3 golden daggers, 1 hand of midas, 1 magnet, savings account, and you're set, maybe a couple golden armours. everyhting is upgraded of course 1 shot everythung.
I absolutely agree with what he said about sound effects and have been saying it, its fun as is but will become liquid crack if they add good sound effects
you do have the oppotunitity to get any of the items on your first turn. You just didn't see the gold plastic knife because it blended in with the fluff.
My guess is it doesn't roll red or black it just does a 50/50 win or lose and they programmed red first. Then when they did Black they copied the programming and forgot to change the result wording
