While he showed the gears going on the first shaft he didn't show the ring clip being put on before the first gear. And you'll need to put them on with the flat side facing out and that's a must. The grooved side of each gear goes out not in like he showed it being done. So he had a problem after it was reassembled. Other than than it was a fairly good assembly. Oh and another thing is if you go to an oil filled case it will leak. Your best bet is to stay with a grease filled case and just add you some grease fittings on the case. If I can add a picture I will to show a good placement and size of drill bit and fitting.
I have re-built plenty of these and you DON'T want to convert them to oil filled...Use grease like it was intended or the gears will wear twice as fast.
I am having a super hard time with the keyed half moon piece found in the brake disk. I can't get it to go in. It looks just slightly to large to fit. Does anyone know how to put that back in?
These Spicer transaxles are on a lot of lawn tractors, but I can't find parts anywhere. I'm looking for shifter keys for a Spicer 4360-86. I think shifter keys from other 4360 will work. Anyone know of a vendor who may be selling these?
