Been desperately meaning to get around to checking out the Modest Mouse discography, but have never found the time to. This might be what makes me do it. Seems like a great band
I feel like I just watched a video of yours from 3 years in the future... except thus video was uploaded today somehow? Like this video has such good editing and sound design and idk how you improved so much in such a short time. Keep kicking ass Sniss!
As someone with chronic pain, cleaning in video games gives me the satisfaction of decluttering while letting me idiate on how to break my real world tasks down into doable portions for how much that specific day is giving me trouble. It helps me get into the headspace that appreciates the aestetic beauty of a room and wonder if that one shelf would work better for my baking supplies, then I could move the equipment I Very Rarely use down into the cupboards and put the More Frequent use items where they're easy to pull out and put away. Stuff like that. The game is a consequence free zone where there is minimal physical labor cost beyond some button pushing-- but it gets the same *mental* processes going, and then I look at my home with new eyes. And that's neat!
"The next day I did the usual, ya know, cleaned some stuff. ...Aaaand then I started feeling the effects of my *gender* being *poison,* so I frantically ran to a _gender-shift terminal,_ and lucky me; I'm now a symbiote." This alone convinced me to try Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor
"It was worth it just to learn some slight of hand" Damn dude, I already love all your videos, I hope you're actually a MM fan too. The current tour is really great, the band is in top notch form.
I have never had another person in my life bring up float on or make other references to that song in my life. I was starting to think that Modest Mouse was a band I somehow made up and listened to daily without it ever existing! XD
in my experience it's a band that everyone knows but just happens to never come up. it's like a curse or something. you have to be really stretching the limits of the simulation space to bring up modest mouse for some reason
REee, didn't talk about hardspace shipbreaker. A game about cleaning up a ship, in that the ship is the dirty part and it needs to be not there and then you sort the trash or something. Play it, you might love it.
Honorable mention for the list of my own oppinion is Barotrauma. You play as a submarine crew and, while not the main priority, you can use an ethanol sprayer to clean the walls of you ship if there's alien or human blood splattered on the wall of if someone got nauseous and ended vomiting while on the medbay. Just things like that.
Great vid bud! One of my favorite cleaning games of all time is 'Chibi Robo: Plug into Adventure' for the Nintendo GameCube back in the day, that one was so much fun
I expected a video about cleaning, not a stark reminder that Game Theory went from cool educational science videos about games to shitty "lore" theories about whatever current trends are being milked this week. 10/10
Viscera Clean-up Detail was a joy to play multiplayer in my experience. I won't defend the wonky physics, because you're right, they were something of another dimension. Situations where my character would die from running into the back of another character. What I liked about it that a lot of other cleaning games did not do was the multiplayer. For my friends and myself, it was a clear answer to wanting a relaxed night just to talk about life. Viscera gave a good back-drop to keep things moving and the sense of progression together felt good. Delegating tasks to friends by whatever they want to do or wherever was nice. Sort of like a very relaxed Overcooked. Powerwash Simulator is a great addition to the cast of cleaning games and it feels so cathartic to clean something. Definitely think the purple stegosaurus slide is super good. The rest of the games I'm unfamiliar with and it was nice to see some alternatives and different experiences. Thank you for showcasing them. I think the next step, ultimately, is how to transfer the fun of cleaning in games to real world applications. There'll be a day I best that bathroom cleaning level flawlessly.
I have spaceport janitor and booted it up exactly once for like 10 minutes and then forgot about it for like 2 years but I might play it again thanks to this vid.
The editing, as well as the general script of this video, is phenomenal. Criminally underrated. Also, nice power washers are always a big dream of mine. God, the pavement I’d clean...
Don't know if you'll see this, but I'm so glad that you kept mentioning Float On. I'd never heard it, and it's absolutely perfect for me right now to help stay positive, it's been really nice to have in my life :D
SUPER glad diaries of a spaceport janitor is here. it's so, so good. here's a hint to newcomers: don't take or burn things under shrines! it's bad luck.
I enjoy cleaning in video games, reminds me of that time four dwarfs murdered an entire planet full of different species of bugs and started a massive cleanup operation. Ending in them claiming the planet and becoming a galactic superpower, ah good times.
Viscera clean up detail is my favorite cleaning game (even more than Pikmin 2) but DANG does that game need a shop vac for all the bullet casings all over the place.
In the Alien vs. Predator game for PSP you play a Predator who has to erase all evidence the Xenomorph's presence on Earth. So you basically have to clean up after the aliens, picking up discarded face hugger husks and other crap. I called it "Alien vs. Janitor "
i'm super excited for your video when update 35 comes out, but these miscellaneous videos are all so entertaining that i'm almost glad it's been delayed. almost :,)
incidentally that elf mission in viscera cleanup detail is, like, all of return of the obra dinn from what i've heard. i don't know because i haven't played it, but is seems like cleaning of the metaphorical variety, you know?
I wish I discovered your channel sooner. I love everything about your channel! Your humor reminds me that of the animators IceCreamSandwich and Noodle. Your editing is amazing and as someone that uses Adobe Illustrator and After Effects for animation and such, I gotta say you did some outstanding work! And in your more serious videos like guides for DRG are so detailed and organized while still being visually pleasing and entertaining. I hope your channel takes off because you deserve the views! Much love
Great video glad this was recommended, if you're a console gamer or a sneaky emulator boy you should play Chibi-Robo! It's like Toy Story but you're a little walking trash can cleaning robot - very fun Nintendo game 0 people played
Put Graveyard Keeper on that list too! idk man something about fixing things in a video game feels good, unlike in the real world where there isn't a set path to take to fix things nor is there a guarantee that things will be alright or even really "fixed" after you're done with it. Smh
Hey have you ever heard of this cool cleaning game called Cruelty Squad? It’s a perfect fit for the channel, and since you love cleaning games I’m sure you’d love this very clean and visually appealing Triple A experience.
4th category: 3rd party cleaners. Fallout 4 - you can't clean the autumnal leaves (which are there all year round for some reason. idk maybe it's a radiation thing) in the base game, but you can with mods! You can delete pretty much everything with mods in Fallout really; rocks, trees, vines, entire buildings because you misjudged what you were selecting also it's been a half hour since you last saved because autosaving only triggers when you open the Pip-Boy because why would you possibly want to save whilst you're in the settlement workshop??! ...I might've poured a few too many hours into that game...
See now I want a full length video essay about why I'm a neat freak in video games with everything perfectly sorted, but in real life I just put everything in a bin and put that bin in the basement.
This man’s variety content skill is really good. It’s a shame that these vids don’t get AS much exposure as your drg vids but I hope that doesn’t discourage you from making these too much. You can at least be sure that you’ll have one more person (me haha) here to watch your “unique” stuff.
A modest mouse reference in a sniss video, yeah why not😂 awesome stuff Edit: "worth it just to learn some slight of hand" alright make that 2 references
What I thought thete was just one float on reference in this video but there are multiple wtf ive seen this multiple times and habe only just noticed this.
This video was amazing! u can really tell how much effort u put into it gjgj (also also whilst its not exactly a cleaning game (probubly a sneaky one at best) u should toataly check out Wilmot's Warehouse i think it might be ur kinda jam)
No Unpacking? ... shoot did it come out after this video was made? Idk great video, gave me some new titles to peek at. If you haven't played Unpacking, highly reccomend
