Thank you for giving me the courage to do this on my C300 W204 Sports 4Matic, followed the instructions in the video and it worked out good; when I first started the car it wanted to stall out, after shut off and restarted and it was back to normal, my baby rides like a princess now! Thank you
@@zakareya45 yes yes I did after spending 1500$ on parts and labor that did not need to be fixed. Comes to find out there was a hole/gash in my intake manifold! So ended up buy a new one for around 354 and 450$ labor sheeesh but then ran smooth as new! But then shortly traded in! To upgrade to my new s5 😎
Wow, what a video. So impressed by you. I now feel confident to do this on mine, and hopefully should fix the surge issue! Thank you for the amazing material!
Good video! 75% of the solvents can be used for multiple purpose but the manufacturers are smart, they create a new solvent type to sell more. You could actually use Brake Cleaner for all those components, and just the inside of the parts (no need to spray the outside of a plastic hose with the solvent, doesn't help one bit). Also doesn't need more than couple of seconds of spraying.
Could be also the in german called the „Ansaugbrücke mit Ansaugklappen“. The plastic parts inside and the plastic leavers at the front can break or get stuck. The whole part isn’t that expensive, 400-500€
I had misfires 4-6. That stopped when I unplugged the MAF. Chasing coils and plugs was a foolhardy mission for sure. My plugs did look pretty bad. No difference with new ones. The coils I ordered all shorted
I have a 2009 Gl 450, I go out and start the car, let it run for a min. and wipers won't come on and blinkers are blinking really fast, it does this every so often, oh it also tells me several bulbs need to be changed, when it's running right all bulbs are fine
Friend. Why didn't you start the car? The mass airfow sensor does not go back on easily does it? Also, the connector to the MAF is a son of a gun! Especially in my 2006 R350. Thanks for the video. Gave me some ideas...
I did a whole coolant system on my 08’ C300 put a new water pump new hoses upper and lower new thermostat new oil filter housing assembly and still over heating I also put a new radiator fan. What could be the problem.
Yeah but dirty and awfully rough handleing of car parts,it is easy to brake plástico car parts not being carefull....good video, but very dirty careless work .
I believe your missing the tension retainer air filter clip off the mass air flow sensor housing. It's needed to keep the air coming in from the air filter and not thru the neck of the mass air flow and by passing throat opening from the filter not being properly seated. The latch will latch onto the air filter housing. To much air maybe making for to much gas. I'd use some Sea-foam in the fuel to clear up air intake fouling and carbon build up., Nice clean up job and video.
You do realize that the whole complete other side of your throttle body looks like shit still since you didn't clean that side. Not sure what good it did if any at all?
Hi, would you happen to know the part number to the silver clamp that is attached to the crankcase breather hose and elbow air intake? Maybe even specific name? I’m trying to find it in FCP euro, but want to be sure its the right one
Thanks for the rich information. But I just changed my Maf but the check engine light refused to go away even after replacing the maf. My question is; does the light disappear immediately after replacement?
Not really, All the cleaner will flood the Air Intake as it funnels into the throttle body. Besides, you should also be cleaning the Down elbow pipe and also the throttle body since you are at it. It would be a less than half of a job if you just spray it while it's still on the car.
Air/fuel ratios were off, in his case running rich. When people don't change out the prone to fail oil separator & crankcase ventilation valve (pcv), the intake manifold gets sludge build up via oil leaking in and all hell breaks loose. If you catch those leaks in time and clean maf/throttle body, you can save your intake manifold, but I believe this guy had to replace his after all.
Did it fox the rich issue or did you have to end up changing o2 sensors how do you know it was ru ning rich did you get o2 sensor rich code what did the short term and long term fuel tables show
Remember did you plug in all the wires correctly? 2 return emissions one on the intake redirect to the valve cover and the other on the air filter covering by the front. Also make sure you plugged in the airflow sensor in the little neck piece with the mesh grill. If that didn’t click properly it will throw a code.
Thanks for the nice video! Where is the Throttle Position Sensor located? My car has engine codes on Throttle Position Sensor so I was wondering if I could replace the sensor to clean the codes.
@@225Alpari For Mercedes, I guess the TPS is built-in in the throttle body, if it was the problem with TPS you may need to replace the whole throttle body. The trouble codes I had were P0123,P0222,P2135. There could be multiple causes including the accelerator pedal, throttle position sensors (TPS) or just the problem in wiring. Therefore I would recommend you to check the wiring first and then the signal coming out of the padel and the signal going into the throttle body to identify the problem. My mechanic found that the throttle body was not responding to the signal. After removing the throttle body assembly they found that the wire had been compromised by chewing rodant. Repairing wiring fixed the problem.
Hi i have c300 4 matic and i have 1 problem. When i give speed to the car in 2 or 3 gear, the gas does not get well but with the hull as if if lacks air. I clean this but still same. Any one help me what is this problem i have.
I have two issues on my Mercedes Benz ML320 1999. 1. The engine running very smooth but most times it it enters pot hole,i will not be able to accelerate again, but the engine will be steaming.I have to stop, turn off the engine, the start again and the throtle will start working fine again. 2. Similar stuff happens with the gear.At some point,i will realize that the gear is no longer selecting and I will stop, turn off the engine, then turn the engine on again and the gear will start to sel;ect fine again. Please i need a solution.
Hi, I am having P0171, Rich Bank 1, I did all the above PLUS replaced the PCV Valve, Cam Shaft plugs, cleaned the throttle body and the Air filters and still I am having the same issue. The cluster display for the MPH and MPG is very odd, when in idle the MPH is very low (7 -10) and the MPH is 11.00, when driving the mPH and MPG go up but again, when idling the same issue and gas consumption is very high. Any advice is very much appreciated. Thank you.
@@freebird6975 Yes, I did not press the air filter case firmly onto the MAF and it was not sealed and was acting like a leak, once pressed on firmly and encapsulated the MAF then all was good.
it should be very similar... Remove the throttle body make it easier to clean behind the flap and lube the teeth on the gear reduction wheel... its cheaper than buying a new one later 🙂
What was the issue with the car that prompted you to clean this. My car is stalling and sometimes dont move when you press the gas. Diagnostic test says the throddle pedal is not sending enough voltage to the engine. I am trying to see if it's the whole pedal with the sensor that need to be change
That's not done. You are making the easy thing a disaster. Too rough on plastics. If I am client I won't bring my car for you. Sorry for that, but you didn't even smoothly finish closing the plastic cover on the MAF PERFECTLY. Please accept my comment in a positive way, so next time you can take care more and slow down if something got broke that's a USD been spent. Thanks for the share.
wtf would you say that? he used break cleaner on plastics, he didnt connect MAF correctly in postion, never bothers about plugging the intake on the top of MAF, cleaned the Electronic throttle body with hands and shop towels. All these are perfect curb side dude jobs.
This didnt even fix his so called problem anyway I bet probably has a leaking intake plenum causing a vacuum leak I watch videos like these out of bordem to watch some very skilled do it your selfers then some complete hacks that clams to be mechanics
Our 350cgi sometimes seems to misfire while idling. You will hear it from the exhaust and feel it in the car. Also when driving 110 kph it sometimes starts lunging as if you were giving it throttle and releasing again. Does anyone have an idea? Sparkplugs and coil have been replaced already.
i have the same issue with my c350, i’m thinking it’s gonna be the throttle body. i’m going to clean mine tomorrow and I’ll let you know if anything changes
@@Schnitzeldawg let me know if it had any effects. Also check you spark plug cables in te dark to see if they don't pass any sparks to something metal. This was the case on our car. The issue seems to happen less now we have changed the cables but it still happens.
Your videos are top match... the attention to detail and the precise video to show EXACTLY what you are doing UNLIKE other videos like Pelican parts - this is second to none. Thanks for the excellent video. Would be great if you have a video on replacing the coolant temperature sensor. I believe its near the Mass Airflow Sensor... .as you have to remove it - but havent seen any detailed videos on replacing it and its not in the most easiest place to work on. Anyways.. great video - I am a new subscriber and fan.
Question sir! What is the reason why clean the MAF and throttle body? 1. Is it when driving, you get a stalling motion or lunging? 2. Cold start rough idle I'm asking because on my 08 c350 w204 I get No.1 as an issue right now. Thanks for the respond
Great video thank you. Sort of related, if wanting to do a GDI cleaning which you NEED to avoid all contact with the MAF sensor could you spray it in via the PCV hose on the air deflector?
hi. thanks for the video. i too have a M272 engine. dealership wants me to perform throttle body service. 1. is everything you showed in this video considered the throttle body service? 2. when cleaning the throttle body by sticking your hand in, did you push the valve open with your fingers to clean behind it?
@@MBZXZ I have read some articles that you can. When you put the key in the ignition after the service and turn it once (not to full ignition position), the computer calibrates the valve opening again by clicking.
Put key second position don't start engine... put a stick or something on gas pedal wot (wide open throttle) and proceed to clean electric throttle. No need to spray directly. Spray on rag and clean!
Hi, I have a 2007 Mercedes W203 C230 with a m272 V6 engine and the car runs so smooth my the problem is showed a check engine light and I had the fault code 0745 self adaptation of mixture formation for enrichment at idle for the right cylinder bank is above permissible limit (P0171). Permanent 0749 self adaptation of mixture formation for enrichment at idle for the left cylinder bank is above permissible limit (P0174) Permanent What could be the problem
I would start by cleaning the MAF (mass airflow sensor) and the clear the code. See if that helps. Be sure to use the right cleaner. See my other video on that. Thanks for watching. Also check for any vacuum leaks.
Very helpful. Thanks. Cleaned both the MAF sensor and TB in addition to changing out the filters on my 2012 C300. Car no longer has a cold start shake it had before.
What mileage did you have when it started shaking cold?? Did you find oil excess in filter? Benz plastic oil separator is known to need regular replacement else multiple oil issues (I have a '14M276)
