Cleaning My Room For The New Year 

Alot have been asking, and my couch/ bed is from Ikea :) Called the Friheten.

I think you did a good job! For those criticizing, you don't know her living situation. For instance, her dog's food and water bowls are kept in her room instead of someplace else. If most of your life and storage are only kept in one medium-to-small room, yes, it will naturally look a bit more cluttered. But the finished space does look clean and orderly! No one is required to be a minimalist, and you don't know what all is in there, either. Leave off. Great video!

For everyone saying that her room was still messy after she cleaned it personally I don't think it was messy she just has a lot of stuff!

you have so much stuff which makes your room so tiny. i would recommend getting rid of stuff you don't need and/or get bins to organize your stuff.

The way my mom taught me, is to throw all my shit on my bed. Everything. Then wipe down the surfaces, vacuum the floor, and put everything back where you want it. Works amazingly well.

Your dog is doing exactly what my cat does when I'm decluttering/organising a room. He lies down on the nearest comfortable spot and watches every thing I'm doing! Makes you wonder what's going through their minds while they're watching you doing all the hard work!

I love this video so much because i can completely relate to it. i have depression and i live alone so my room is often as messy as the room in the video. cleaning can feel overwhelming. on my good days when i feel happy/good. i will do a cleaning spree and i will throw out maybe 3 bags of rubbish. sometimes my room remains clean for a few weeks after doing a clean but then when depression kicks in again. it goes back to messy state. all the room videos on youtube are so clean because people are embarrassed on putting a messy room video on youtube so thank you for posting this video. it kind of makes me feel like i am not the only 1 who goes through periods where my room looks like a warzone. lol btw. i am also an introverted girl. lol

It's really nice to see an actually messy room get cleaned. It's hard to find these kinds of videos. Most of the videos I see are already clean rooms getting even cleaner lol. My room is very similar to how yours started out. This is very encouraging to see, and I hope that I will be able to do this soon too!! Great job!!!

My mom told me when I was a teen that the trick is cleaning “as you go,” and never letting it get out of hand. It’s gotta be done in stages. Once a space gets to a certain level of organized, it can then be tweaked to the NEXT level, and so on. Then you have to attack any new messes immediately to keep it nice. But even if you do that, over time there will still be a need to dust and vacuum. Then things break, need replacing, become obsolete. Then it’s nice to rearrange, paint, change lamps and furniture sometimes. It would all be extra hard with pets. Maybe have a fish tank instead.

Dog watching your every move, patiently waiting for you to make it over to the corner where her bed is. It gets cleaned off and she says "Yay! My bed! Thank you!" And settles in. Sweet pups. :)

As someone who hates dust I simply enjoying throwing open the windows, dusting and vacuuming! Sadly as I'm disabled and suffer with a chronic neurological condition it does mean I have to spend a long time between and mess does inevitably accrue.. but keeping things off the floor and in containers certainly helps.

My room has gotten like this SEVERAL TIMES. Mostly it's because I have too much stuff for my small space. I moved to a bigger house and am now decluttering. Well done cleaning up!

I'm so happy she got the motivation to clean her room. My floor stays pretty decent but that's because I stuff all my stuff onto chairs and other surfaces in my room.

I'm honestly very proud. Depression episodes or people who have hording problems can cause this and it takes a lot to clean it. Now, if it was just pure laziness it would be a different story. But I'm still proud. It may not be perfect commercial house material but it's clean and I applaud you for that.

That is most definately a ritual in my family to make sure the house is extra clean when for the New Years.

Pelo que entendi, essa é a limpeza de ano novo no cômodo. O que me impressiona é que tem momentos em que ela fica perdida e pega as roupas do chão, dobra e guarda! Claro que durante um ano, a gente junta muitas coisas mas, bagunça, isso não se deve fazer, principalmente em um lugar pequeno. Cada coisa deve ter o seu lugar, tirou, coloque de volta. Limpar, varrer, espantar, higienizar tudo, principalmente tendo um animal no mesmo ambiente é fundamental.

For a room so small I’m surprised you have so much stuff. It would be much easier for you to clean and keep your room clean if you had less. Something I had to teach myself was how to let go of things that I don’t absolutely need. It’s helped out tremendously and I found myself ‘moving’ items around less. Moving things from one area to another only helps for so long.
