I probably wouldn’t have wanted him to help either, I’m particular and I also love cleaning he would have gotten in the way. So I get it but the thing is, how did they let us get so bad wtf.

Personally for me the messy room doesn’t bother me it’s more that I have work to do and that stresses me out so my focus is on my work instead of my room. I will say however my kinda “mess” is like papers everywhere on my desk and a few clothes on a chair or the floor it isn’t that bad. Also I feel like the state of your room is the state of your mind because my room is a mess when I am a mess. 🤷♀️
I have ADHD so focusing isn’t a think to me so I need some one in the room when I clean my room so I don’t get distracted or I never get anything done Ik it’s stupid but it’s the truth
Same with my adhd 8yr old son. He can clean his own room now. We've set a step by step cleaning guide for him so he can get it done and he's so proud. Its so much easier if you just do one thing at a time (pick up clothes first. When thats done, pick up rubbish, when thats done pick up toys)

Didn’t anybody raise you to know that when someone is cleaning you do a part as well and not just sit there for the entire time except for maybe 10 minutes of doing something? I am a fire fighter and sometimes we get called to peoples homes when they are in a bad situation. This means a messy home. More people live like this then you would think. Homes on the outside are beautiful but my God the insides.

I lived across the street from someone we suspected was a hoarder, but there was no probable causec For the city to enter her home. Until one freezing cold winter a few years ago. Then one day her water line i her kitichen burst and all hell broke loose when the fire dept showed up to get into the house...police, fire, gas co, water dept, bldg inspector.....the amount of GARBAGE in the house was mindboggling.
I use to be a valet and people’s cars are filled with disgusting things. Looks clean outside but when u get in the interior there’s trash on all the seats except the drivers
