Its here! I shoot and explode my way through the final campaign missions of Sniper Elite 5, destroying the Kraken project and eliminating the guy behind it in both mission 8 and mission 9 together in this video! Enjoy!
Loadout: Lee Enfield No. 4, Drilling, M1911; all tweaked for power, fire rate, and as loud as possible.
Please Note: This is NOT the way I would normally play, nor would I recommend the game be played this way! This series is an experiment! Authentic difficulty and invasions are allowed! Strictly non-silenced weapons ONLY and loud destruction where possible!
I have lost count of the number of times I have invaded players to find them in all-out combat with half of the enemies on the map, and they die trying to blast their way through... So I figured I'd have a go at playing in that style to see why it is so prevailent amongst many of the community.
Perhaps by seeing from their perspective I can understand them better...
The reality is that playing without much stealth is actually pretty challenging. No silenced weapons and no silent kills allowed!

Had to like this vid as I realised it was me who was the invader you killed at the church. Have to be honest I’m a bit shit at the whole invasion thing, not to take anything away from the kill 😂

I’d have struggled if I had started where you did! I got very lucky in that you started in a place I could get to quickly! If you had started further away I think it may have been a different story! I hope to face you again under more favourable conditions!

Phenomenal! As you stated at the end, the Winchester packs a lot of energy. When I used it in this mission the result was an intense and challenging enemy siege at the beginning, mostly because of the slow rate of fire. The flip of the coin is that the Winchester is pretty much one-shot-one-death, and any armoured vehicle becomes just a tick box exercise (if you are in the right position and have AP rounds, that is). Great mission!

My days. You made it. I have made it too. I think rebellion should add type 30 bayonet for Japanese rifle. Bayonet is critical in survival authentic. I beat it by using bayonet only

Just played this map on authentic today too, and yea it is a kick in the nuts. My first time playing authentic run means i run straight into enemy formation and got ass blasted. Had to resort to looting bodies just to top off health, and that is me running on quiet and stealth! And i see you embraced fire rate now, good choice since a head shot or organ shot will be just as lethal anyway so fire rate gives you an edge. But i still wouldn’t use the RSC something, Gewehr 43 as jäger and SREM-1/ M1903 as Karl for me works

Yeah, I expected this one to be the hardest, but because of the close quarters, you're not exposed as often as on the more open maps. I think the clincher here is the self-revive mechanic. Karl can bandage, reload a secondary and hold off enemies with one hand! Not that I've not frequently been grateful for it myself lol... but maybe SE5 needs an Authentic PLUS difficulty? Obviously the seasoned SE5 players have almost universally asked for more enemies to make it harder - and especially more reinforcements. But a serious nerf on found weapons, ammo etc could also be called for? I do like the new ability to use weapons picked up from slain enemies - it feels like you've earned them! But there's ridiculous stashes of weapons & ammo all over SE5, so that there's never any real need to conserve ammunition. I'm not really a fan of the NO Save option. While it can up the tension big time, it's hard on players who have limited time to game - as I think you've mentioned before. So, for 'Authentic Plus', how about... - More enemies (esp. reinforcements!) - Reduce stashes of ammo & health - Maybe NO skill tree perks...? Also... how about upping the goddamn WIND, so as to make sniping actually harder?! In fairness, I think SE4 had TOO much windage, but SE5 could certainly do with more...

I agree, and like your thinking on this. My main afterthought after this run was that I didn’t deliberately disable a single alarm, and after the initial breakout I never really felt outnumbered again until the hotel, which was ultimately a manageable situation. It didn’t feel like the enemy were really being reinforced, where in other maps it can feel overwhelming when they do get reinforcements. You’re right about windage too, one thing I actually like when replaying 3 is the way the wind changes and it makes you pay more attention to your aim and choosing your moment. I don’t think we really need match ammo, generally, either. I do use it, buts it’s very infrequent and 95% of the time you can make shots with regular ammo, albeit with some careful aiming.

😉 excellent run, good invasions too. The sub pen is rather anticlimactic but what can you do. Looking forward to the dlcs.

WTF happened when you were shooting at the Invader @ 24mins in?! Your shots looked like they were going through him? And no reaction from the Invader... Also, I like the way Moller's car just legs it without him as it's all going off lol 😄

I have no idea. Latency? Player had their volume turned right down? I’m not sure, but I think I legit missed just by a very small margin. As for Moller, if his car drives off and he runs after it, if you don’t get him within a few seconds the mission fails, even if he’s still there, which is odd. You’d think he’d run to his Kubelwagen!

It’s probably an editing mistake. A clip in the timeline probably got accidentally deleted. It’s rare but it happens. Edit: It looks like the clip of the shot being lined up has had the start chopped of it off by mistake. If you watch it in super slow motion there are still a couple of frames left of the shot being taken before the quick cam plays out. It’s just an editing goof and they happen from time to time.
