This is usualy due to allergies ! My dog is scratching her ears as I am writing this now ! It’s been a harrowing battle trying to figure out exactly why it is she’s allergic to cuz I thought it was just chicken until this weekend when I ran out of her food that got her better and no store had it so I got a beef flavoured kibble and she’s been scratching ever since all over again despite already having changed it back to the food that she doesn’t tereact to’ so now I suspect she might also be allergic to beef as well! That doesn’t leave very Many options for proteine.. it looks like fish, sweet potatoes and carrots so far might be the only things she can eat … I cooked rice all the time and now I have no idea if she can even have rice… even though it’s one of the good grains … I’m going to have to wait until this allergic reaction is over for a while before re-introducing it to see ! But I mean , mostVets know this now , I have this special solution that cleans out her ears and I also put hydrocortisone on the the skin side of her ears ( just making sure to not put it in the actual canal though ) and I swear ..She only needs to take the Smalleest BITE of either the cat’s food or chihuahua’s food and she automaticaly has a reaction! Even when she takes regular benedryl she still flares up! It’s not As bad as it was before cutting off chicken for good cuz her eyes were affected then as well as her whiskers, her lashes etc the vet said that it went down the to follicle of the hair .. so anywhere they grow fur! And the fur around her eye had completely fallen or been scratched off! But please, in the future … if u notice something like this,, Always ALWAYS bring your dog to the Vet! It’s not Normal to scratch all the time or to have ear infections all the time ! Dobermans are proned to them already due to the flop on their ears.. which is why their ears were getting cropped to begin with! My dog is a little over a year old and Doberman mix her dad is Purebread dobby.. I am seriously considering getting her ears cropped ( not to “ taper” them, but purely to make it a lot easier for me to be able to wash inside her ears ! Cuz there are Sooooo many crevices and lumps and bumps it makes it Reaally hard to clean ( I haven’t actualy watched the video yet though lol)

Your dog should be on a species appropriate diet. The Rx diet is made of the worst, rejected garbage from the human food industry. The grains used in these commercial kibbles is contaminated with aflatoxin and mites (which is no doubt the reason that grain lot was rejected for human consumption).

Yes my dog has hypothyroidism and he constantly has infected ears despite all the medications (for both his thyroid and ears) 😔

My dog is on a special diet--hydrolyzed protein--and i clean her ears and toes once a week. She also gets an ear drop weekly. This has helped phenomenally!

Naw...it's good to know about different foods in case your furry kids develop a problem. They're not pushing it on anybody. Don't like it? Don't buy it. Simple...
