I named my Roomba “herd of moose” so when I tell Alexa to have Roomba clean, she says okay I’ll tell herd of moose to vacuum…it makes me giggle every time.
Mack: If you don't know what steel wool is, it just comes from metal sheep. Me: **pictures sheep in leather jackets, leather collars with studs, showing devil horns & headbanging**
@@abarton1978 Oh for sure! I was afraid to walk out to my car but then I remembered that I have mastered the art of the cleaning spin kick and started escorting the convention moose out. I only had to spin kick one Moose and the rest left me alone after that. They didn't want to be spin kick cleaned. The one I kicked was so clean he smelled like a new car.
We have been in this house 17 years. I clean the garage about every six months or so. Well, 3 weeks ago I got in there and I got rid of everything, I had my car full of donations, my curb was full of extra carpet from 10 yrs ago, a big rug and just crap. I took everything off every shelve and took shelves outside and cleaned those. Swept under where the shelves were and swept the walls. I know what your back feels like now after all that. It took me 3 days. ❤❤❤
I love how you explain the what & why of your decluttering and cleaning methods all peppered with embedded jokes. It was so sweet of you to include the interior of her home because it will make her visit with her child so much better. She won't be worried and distracted thinking about the condition of her home. BTW-Having watched many of videos you are one of the few people I would ever let go through my stuff without supervision. You are very careful and conscious of what is important. Thanks for all you do for so many people
The amount of my family members injured by 1 of those, 5 head injuries involving stitches, 7 leg injuries involving stitches..... there's more not sure it's all the tables fault or because we are all accidentpown I never got stitches at my grandparents house pretty lucky out of 13 grandkids
I have two of them and I adore them! My grandma had two touch lamps with the glass petal shades on them and I got those as well. It's so 70s but I love it so much.
The other day my wife was making plans for Easter dinner, having a few friends over. Said she was making a ham, potatoes, several veggies, and dinner rolls. Asked me if I thought chocolate mousse would be good for dessert. Told her, "No, just some of those little chocolate bunnies, should be enough."
❤P.S. 🧠 As someone with brain injury from Carbon Monoxide poisoning, I would like to give this lady, a digital CO detector for the room with the dryer exhaust blowing in. Before, it didn't matter, but now, with a cool lounge area... While I don't have much money right now, I *can* do this because I am cleaning out my Mom's house and Ma has a whole collection of them, new-in-box that I found (in a drawer otherwise filled with penguins and elephants doing spin kick battles with light sabres). If there is an address on your FB page or whatnot, I'll send it there. I think there are enough to send her one - plus one for you & Emily, and one for Jason's home. Be safe!
@@AmyC37217 Unfortunately, I'm sure it's state by state and county by county for free availability, as my county / town has no free CO detectors. That being said, it's a great resource you just shared if it's out there.
I'm so sorry you ended up with lifelong complications from it. In the early 90s, my uncle was grilling, it started to rain, so he brought the grill inside to finish. Only one of my cousins was alert enough to call 911 when after he couldn't wake the rest of the family. Luckily, everyone lived.
My parents' dryer did not vent to the outside as the laundry room was built when people used a clothesline. My mom saved old nylon stocking and later pantyhose legs to cover the end of the dryer hose, making a kindvof lint sock. When it filled up, she threw it out and put a fresh one on. This was probably a bit of a fire hazard if not managed correctly, but it worked.
Random comment here....your sped up video cleaning up the kitchen makes your foot steps sound like my kitten running around my house in the wee hours! The pitter patter is just killing me! 🤣
PSA from a professional in the power washing industry: PLEASE do NOT power wash the inside of a garage unless everything in that garage is made of water proof material. If you power wash the inside of a place that has any wood or drywall you will cause mold problems.
@ImNotaRussianBot Mac said he wants to come back to power wash the garage. It appears the walls are drywall. It's a common misconception that this would be a good idea due to people online posting videos of it.
I love how you help people out with cleaning their places. I find it relaxing to see order come from chaos. Your personality makes it all come together and helps me to smile and laugh when that does not come easy. Today, my cat was enthralled with watching Jason run around in the garage lol. Thank you for all that you do for those you help!! Enjoy your weekend.
Man, you don't know what your videos do for so many of us. It has been a stressful week and a super stressful Friday. Maybe it's because I am getting older but dangit-Friday's are supposed to go smoothly! Today was horrible. Another mass shooting in the world....people just trying to enjoy a concert. Unarmed, happy people loving music and gunmen come in and just mow down innocent people. My nerves are on edge. And I tap on YT-and here you are. I needed this. Need to hear a friendly, calming voice and read all the positive comments that are always here from your channel fans. Thank you, everybody. This lady right here needs a hug!
I love your voice and how you explain what you do. I´m autistic with adhd and have trouble keeping things neat, sorted and to donate the things I no longer use. Your content hepls me sort out both emotions around those things and how to get started somewhere, anywhere - without getting overwhelmed by the size of the mess. Sorry if my english is not the best, not my language. Now I´m going to go into the kittchen and kick all the polarbears and raindeer into symetric order. ;) Thank you so much for just being there for all of us.
The second any pets show up on screen my attention is GONE. I'm not listening to you or watching you clean anymore, just watching the cute little fur babies checking out your hard work. ❤
It's a miracle! The stove! The Stove!!! For everyone out there I have a tip for the top of the fridge. Put a cotton cloth cut to the size of the fridge then when you clean it next year just toss in the wash. You could double stick tape it but I don't find that necessary.
Top of the cabinets too, if they're exposed. Or if you're really lazy use paper towel and you can throw it away, but something washable is probably more absorbent. My apartment doesn't have an extractor fan over the stove, which should be a CRIME, so mine get pretty grimey.
During covid when we couldn't find hand sanitizer or alcohol, someone suggested going to an auto paint place. I went there and got a gallon that was almost pure, so I just had to water it down a little bit to get to 70%. It was so much cheaper!
I mean really. From just the perspective of being able to garage one’s car means not having to go outside one’s secure home to retrieve something possibly forgotten in same. Your efforts provide exponential safety and more contentment in so many ways. Big and small. 👍🏼🇬🇧
Mac, and Jason, seeing you guys in these videos always brighten my days. Since watching you grow and hear Mac's talk I've even been able to help my own habits cleaning as I'm on the spectrum and ADHD and it's always been hard for me. Thanks for all your hard work and I wish for nothing but the most success with the channel so you can help even more people.
There is a neurological reason for that, and it's why I watch others doing anything it is that I want to motivate myself to do: it's called mirror neurons! We are all born with them, that's why kids unconsciously mirror/mimic what adults do. As far as I know we have a tendency to do this all through our lives. It's one way I put RU-vid to work for me, supporting my brain to do what I want.
I have! It started a couple years ago when I began watching a channel run by a woman who owned a professional cleaning company, then I started watching Auri and MMC. I also watch professional home carpet and floor cleaners. I need a regular stream of cleaning content to keep me motivated, fight against my ADHD mess, my chronic illness, and ever-present desire to lay down 😅
I am an adult living with my parents still, so is my sister, because it's just not affordable for all four of us to not. In any case, my parents both have hoarders tendencies in that they keep objects, but not so much garbage. Anywho, sister and I recently took a week off work together and spent it cleaning a room every day. Might sound like a shitty vacation but it was nice not thinking about work and just getting stuff done for an entire week. Anywho, one of the things my mom hoards is plastic containers from takeout. She will wash them and reuse them for tupperware. Thing is, we had a cabinet full of tupperware. We ended up resorting the tupperware cabinet, but we matched up lids and stacked them like that in there (donating things that had no matches/were old/no longer used/had to use anymore) and we did that because we had gone through that cabinet before and restacked things... thing was when we stacked them without lids matching, she claimed she could not find matches and that is why she started hoarding the junk. Anywho, so far so good with this new method and thought I'd pass it on as it might be a future solution. It certainly doesn't look as nice because it takes up more room, but practically speaking it works out better for our family.
When I was in my 20's a lady was taking vacation to clean closets and do some painting. I thought that was odd. Now in my 60's, I take days to get things done though I think I will get so much more done than I can. I am still happy with what I got done, but quickly overwhelmed by the rest.
Watch Dana K White and use the container concept to be the bad guy… say we only have this cupboard for Tupperware so what fits can be kept. Everything else goes. When she wants to add another, you say ok you can put that in, but what shall we throw out to make room?
You can vent that dryer into a bucket of water. Add a section of large hose to the vent. 5 gallon bucket and lid. Cut a hole into the lid. Put the hose into the hole.
There is nothing like waking up at 3 in the morning, clicking on your video and laughing hysterically at your strange but effective humor. Sigh. Love it. I mean who doesn't need a good laugh at 3 a.m.? I was inspired to clean my kitchen tomorrow.
My moose Bullwinkle got a big kick out of your moose reference! He even did his moose laugh. People come from miles away just to hear his moose laugh. Great job, guys! 🫎
As an assemblage artist, I know how constant my organisation of my supplies is to me and my work. Even with a limited space I find, out of sight, out of mind. Ty as always for allowing others to feel the joy (even for a moment lol) knowing what they already have. God bless you and amen. 🇬🇧
I always love to see kitties and dogs running around wondering what the heck you are doing.. they must be like “ hey guys, thanks for cleaning my humans junk spots for us” 🐱🙌🏻
Somehow I found your channel a few weeks ago and can only thank you for your heart of gold. Your compassion in understanding and helping people is inspiring! As for me, my sewing room is one of those "where to start" rooms. Also I get easily distracted and squirrels are always vying for my attention. Other parts of my house are cleaner than usual thanks to APC. Keep up the good work, you're amazing.
Going ssa today. Needed this to believe that I can work with them around overpayment for working last year as a two year widow. Causes lots of anxiety. Need to feel it will be cleaned up and I really know what they will do next. Never been on a government program. Always worked. Cleaned alot of little messes my self for others.
As a Taoist I can clearly see benefits to OCD watching y’all clean. It’s just so lovely and thriving when something as truly debilitating to many is in alignment with someone’s values and goals. That’s how come that stove came out so squeaky clean, I imagine. I believe OCD is a spectrum disorder, and we all should have optimal amounts to function, just like anxiety or depression. After all, it was the depressed folks in Ireland who planted all them potatoes ahead of a famine. I’m sure anxiety and OCD played parts too. I have come to embrace and manage my anxiety, and hearing about “optimal amounts” really helped me accept that my level prevents me from risky behaviours, like bungee jumping. God bless and amen. 😂💪🏼🙌🏼🇬🇧
I was cleaning out my dads garage recently and found expired canned food from 2009 and he didn’t want to throw it out because “it still might be good” and all I could think of was “let the green bean go” I’m definitely gonna have to get that shirt. 😂😂😂
I decided to watch your spin kick this house into a super clean moose house, early. lol! I know she couldn’t wait to come back to a gorgeous home with spring around the corner. Your intricate design with how you manage all your clients houses with just the right color (windows, etc) is so refreshing to me! Jason, btw, is getting super good with declutterring or organizing. Way to go y’all and see ya in the next video! 😊
And that little sitting space area he created 😊 I always like to imagine how happy the face of the homeowner is too. I can just imagine the joy that'll last a few days too. 😊❤
You are a blessing to all the people you help. Also thank you for all your advice. There is something so relaxing about taking a break and watching you guys make order from chaos. When you do the filming in real time it always throws me because I’ve become so used to the speed ups!
I love watching your videos because every time I do, it encourages me to tackle one more spot in my house. This video encouraged me to deep clean the kitchen sink and under the sink and get everything organized under there.
What you did for their stove top is amazing! I never thought of using oven cleaner on the outside. I don't need to, but I never thought of it. Wow. I bet she was thrilled!
I only found your channel about a month ago. And I am addicted to watching them all! You are exactly what I need for moving. I am Handicapped with progressive MS, and I have a caregiver 4days/wk. But I will be moving from my 1244 sq ft Home to a 420 SQ FT Senior apt when my name comes up on a waitlist. My name Just jumped up A bunch, so I am all of a sudden scared that it will happen in a year or less. My caregiver works so hard, taking care of me, dishes, laundry, etc., but there is never time to start going through things/packing. Every day I look around and say oh I just want to group X items, etc. I found an organizing svc but even senior rate is $55/hr. So I think I watch your videos dreaming of a team like you and your son would whip it out In no time and with such common sense of grouping items. I used to be such an organizer! Love your videos. BTW, know of anyone in Half Moon Bay, CA?
I love your channel. After I found it, your content--the recording, the editing, and the really helpful, enlightening commentary--was the thing that finally got through to me and helped me begin decluttering. Seeing my life reflected in spaces like this, and then seeing how you demolish and transform them back into a warm and cozy home while explaining how it can be done, really helped me visualize such a change in my own life. You helped me realize it was attainable, and something I deserved. I've decluttered a few spots in my house so far, most notably so far I've produced three 110L, three 60L, and two 30L bags worth of clothes (I eyeballed these measurements but it seems right) for a total of 570L of clothes I'm donating/gifting/selling. Clothes have been the biggest thing I've been "collecting" from compulsive buying over the years, and it feels really, really crazy to downsize so much. But it also feels freeing. Once they're gone gone, I'll feel better. I'm already looking forward to getting rid of all my extra shoes... I'm also excited to keep watching your videos and learn how to properly clean. Once more of my surfaces are cleared, I'm going to have a field day with the Mr. Clean. The alcohol solution after the Mr. Clean might be a gamechanger for me, as I have two cats and one is really sensitive to strong smells, so I feel like that solution, or a white vinegar solution, would help neutralize chemical odors afterwards. I will have to try that out, anyway. I wanted to say all of this here because I don't really have someone in my life I can share this with who "gets" it. I just wanted to celebrate my wins and sharing here helps me feel like someone is proud of me for what I've accomplished! Thank you so much for doing what you do!
I love to see your videos helping folks. Al Blades videos are him helping folks with bad yards. Dumpster diving momma of 2 videos are het helping multiple refuges and mental health facilities. So many RU-vidrs doing stuff for free to help others. Its wonderful and does my heart good to watch xx
i was GUTTED we didn't get a mop/powerwash of that garage tbh. like i understood because limited time, resources, and no doubt a thousands other factors (like weather, which you've mentioned) so the idea that we might get one in the future has me PUMPED. before and after is still INCREDIBLE tho.
That Mr. Clean freak is AMAZING!!!! I knew nothing about it until I started watching your videos. I chose the one with the laundry scent in it and OMG, I am in LOVE!
Happy Friday morning Fantera! I’m so envious! Our garage is where things go to die. Wish you lived closer cause you’d spin kick the crap out of our junk!
I guess because the garage walls are finished, when the video first started I thought you were in a living room and when you said this isn’t a hoarding issue I said (out loud) “Not a hoarding issue?!?! There’s a motorcycle in the living room!!!!”. I was way confused. Love your videos!!!!!❤❤❤
I've had two Bona mops in the past and both broke in the first couple of years. I now have a Swiffer mop I've had for twice as long as I had either Bona. I don't use the disposable pads on it, I use the Bona reusable ones. They hang over the edges because they are longer, but they still do a fabulous job. I've also figured out how to get the Swiffer mop solution bottles open so I can reuse them with my own floor cleaner.
“The point is, I can beat up a moose”. 😂😂😂. You’ve been such a help and inspiration as I work to clear and clean pockets of our house. Your cheerful voice lifts my spirits so much! ❤
Hey Fantera lol. Speaking of music, I wanted to let you know you made me go pull out my Our Lady Peace cd! I believe I am a year older than you, so your album collection is much like my cd collection from my 20's.
My husband does this cool thing with our drier vent during the winter. He took a 5 gallon bucket and drilled about 5 2" holes around the edge of the lid and then one large hole in the center that the vent hose can fit in. He then puts about 3 to 4 inches of water in the bottom of the bucket. He attaches the vent hose and then puts the lid back on the bucket. It catches the lent but gives us free heat during the winter in our basement.
OH! OH! OH!........i forgot to tell you: about that red speedo you mentioned. MY husband use to wear one of those when we first moved to Ohio from New York. (ONLY a New Yorker would do this!) He would wear it to take the family to the swimming parks. Anyway, before we got to the park, he drove to a McDonald's and went in to get some drinks! (Eeee-gads that man!) He came outside, and the girl behind the register came outside also. She said "I just HAD to come outside to see where ya'all was from!" Needless to say, I made sure he NEVER wore that thing again! The End.
What a kind service to do. What a relief for that woman to have a kitchen cleaned for her daughters visit. She must have been so grateful...I certainly would have been.
The kitchen cabinets remind me of my mom's. The same plain birch cabinets and the hardware matches hers. Though mom's is copper vs black. Always liked the hardware. Nice cleanup. Great motivation to get up and deal with my own clutter
