Cleaning Wheels | Bowden's Own Wheely Clean & Tyre Sheen Review | FocusOnDetailing
In this video I put to the test the combination from Bowden’s Own wheel range. Their wheel cleaner and tyre shine.
I was lucky enough to trial both products on an exceptionally dirty vehicle which had a lot of built up break dust and grime, perfect for trying out the wheel cleaner!
I go through the basic steps to test out the products, seeing if they come close or can live up to what they say they can do. At the end of the day it’s purely opinion and would recommend that if you’re still interested or have any more questions to give them a go yourself to see if it suits your needs.

wow long time no see lol and I do like these products are good I find at a retail level and the wheel cleaner can be used as a chem decontamination b4 you start the clay bar process. I have moved off sprays for tyre shine but this is my fav spray

Hey mate! I didn't know that it can also be used for that, that's pretty cool. Might come in handy too although I'm using CarPro Iron Xls at the moment which does the trick. Without a doubt my favourite product for tyre shines at the moment would have to be Chemical Guy's VRP.

I've been using the tire shine for months within my business and i think it's one of the best. I have been looking for a good wheel cleaner as iv'e tried a lot that don't work. The wheely cleaner looks pretty good but i have seen comments left on channels stating it has been leaving marks on their mags. My guess, it is like an acid and must go on and off pretty quickly otherwise it will leave damage.

I believe their new Wheely Clean is a little safer but still even like with other cleaners it's important to not let it bake onto the wheel doing it in direct sunlight or simply leaving it too long to dry. There's safer options like using their Orange Agent or Three-way to clean the wheels it's just that their clean capabilities won't pack as much of as a punch as Wheely Clean

Great video thanks. So judging from the purple run off is the Wheely Cleaner similar stuff to a detox spray, which removes iron particles? Nice XR6 btw!

Thanks for the comment! That's it! The purple you see is the product reacting with the iron particles. I've also used this as a chemical decon product but Bowden's recently released a product specifically for this job now.

I think supercheap should put a location in the shop where all the Bowden's products are together, to make them easy to find as they are getting to be very popular.

Nice review mate, I haven't used the tire shine (I'm hooked on chemical guys VRP) but I have used wheely clean. It's not a bad fallout remover, which is essentially what it is. It's also good to use for paint decontamination. Have you used their paint cleanse and restore yet? I'm interested in seeing what it can do. To me it looks like a glaze but I'm assured it's not as it contains no fillers.

VRP is a favourite of mine too! Can't say I've used the paint cleanse and restore but just looked into it then, looks pretty interesting. I'm waiting for Bowden's Own to introduce a compound and polish set. That'd be also decent to see.

FocusOnDetailing I'd be surprised if they ever do release polishing compounds to be frank. They are so against abrasive polishes it's not funny. They have created their line up to be safe for use on their car collections older paint so any time you mention polishing you get hounded down 😂 Of course we all know that an annual light polish is a good thing, but to them it's something only a professional should do, which, given today's compounds that are available, coupled with a DA, which are fool proof, is rubbish.

In my honest opinion I think they're missing out on potentially a large market. I just purchased some Scholl Concepts compounds and polishes which are apparently pretty great. It would just be good if Bowden's Own did make some as the only other option that is quite popular from the main Aussie automotive stores are Meguiar's Ultimate range. Eager to try out their Cleanse and Restore now though haha

FocusOnDetailing I've used both the ultimate polish and compound, both finish beautifully in my opinion, no one can doubt that they are excellent products for the consumer. I just got a bottle of Megs d300 DA correction compound, I'm yet to use it but it gets awesome reviews from almost everyone who's used it from what I've seen. It's pro grade, no dusting versatile formula that is designed for microfibre cutting pads but also cuts and finished well with foam pads. What Scholl compounds did you buy? I was so close to buying s20 black, which is an outstanding compound that uses deminishing abrasives making it a true 1 step polish. I really don't think we'll see a compound or traditional polish from BO any time soon. It would go against everything they stand for. I do rate their gear though.

You don't need to use soapy water when using Wheely Clean, as it's designed to be used by itself. The new formula is now out and smells like a hair salon

Meguiar's tire gel is a far better product than the Bowden's one, I have been using Meguia'rs for years and have been looking to switch to the Bowden's own to support a Aussie product but their stuff just isn't as good as the Meguiar's stuff I use.
