I’ve heard that before as well. Most toothpastes have tiny abrasive particles in them that will scratch the trays and increase the potential of bacteria accumulating on them. If I am using toothpaste to clean my Aligners, I use one without abrasives (basically any of the Tom’s ones). Otherwise, I’ve found that denture cleaning tablets and even dish soap work really well too 😋

Hey Monica! I did check with my orthodontist and he advised me that the methods I was using were ok. I do know what most toothpastes have tiny abrasive particles that can scratch/damage the trays so I was sure to use one that didn’t Hope this helps clear things up a bit and wishing you all the best on your journey! 💙

Hey! When I’m keeping on top of things, I do soak my Aligners with a denture cleaning tablet during every meal. Because I wear my Aligners for 2 weeks, I usually let the tablet completely dissolve overnight (so the bright blue/green color fades) and then use the same cleaning solution throughout the day. That’s just what has been working best for me 😋

@@Shilique currently on my third tray. So far its been super clean. I clean every morning. I got an extra soft toothbrush so I won't scratch the trays. I was afraid my mouth will taste like dish soap but that hasn't been an issue. Rinse rinse rinse. Also I found your channel a month ago. You are super informative and your smile is looking great! As soon as I saw your smile on one of your most recent videos ( I definitely squealed in excitement) lol. I cant wait to get there!

My ortho told me to just wash with regular Gold Dial antibacterial soap. I do it in the morning and night. I should add I change my aligners each week

My orthodontist recommended dawn liquid dish soap as well . Told me not to use toothpaste
