That antique (we could call this a SUPER antique) rolling mill is beyond amazing! It doesn't matter if it's usable or not; just having in your studio is at the very least a great conversation piece. It's quite a treasure.

We actually just sold it as we are moving the studio lol, it was a beauty but it has a new home now where it will see more use.

Great studio setup. I have a studio in my cellar as well. But it‘s much smaller. I do lampworking and want to combine it with casted jewelry pieces.

I like your setup! I too have had to build some of my tools in order to save some money. I built an engraving machine( videos and drawings courtesy of Rick Alexander on YT). Also built the brackets to set my ball vise on from stainless steel. I was going to build a graver sharpener, but decided to save a hundred hours of labor and just buy one. Still saving my money for that, lol. I don't know if you mentioned on this video but what type on graver do you use?
@ClearMindJewellery
@ClearMindJewellery 5 лет назад
We use high speed steel 3/32, we got some from Andu and some from Amazon. As for our sharpener we use our drill press with a fixture from Home Hardware and diamond lap wheels from Amazon. Andu actually has a sharpening system now.

Your silver studio is very great. I liked the mug. Want to create such a studio for yourself? You sell your silver product

at bronze temps the life expectancy on the kerr element goes down to 5%.

Very good! I have just setup my casting in my garage! Oh my, burnout is killing me with the fumes! Do you remove wax from kiln or leave it burn till the end? thank you
@ClearMindJewellery
@ClearMindJewellery 5 лет назад
If we had a steam wax removal unit we would do that but we don't. We just let it do its thing. Having the appropriate level of ventilation is very important. I think it was said in the video but not only do we have that hood over the burn out oven but we cover the front with leather aprons.

I melt the wax out in an ordinary oven, with the flasks upside down, and then move them into the kiln for the rest of the burnout. Having water under the flasks allows you to collect most of the wax and reuse it, and stops it from smoking very much.

With everything you have here how many square feet would you say this space is ?
@ClearMindJewellery
@ClearMindJewellery 3 года назад
Around 260sq ft I think 🤔 we’ve moved spaces and will have a new studio tour video soon.

Hi, where’d you find your leather catch? I’ve been looking at all of the jewelry suppliers online and can’t seem to find one. Thank you
@ClearMindJewellery

We do a lot of DYI, the bench and the catch we something we made ourselves.

Excellent video- thank you! I, too, would be interested in setting up/building my own GRS Benchmate (especially because my bench is custom built by my late father, and doesn't have the same setup like most benches.) You mentioned sharing your process, sketches, etc? Can you please provide, as I know that'll help! Thanks again.

Do you sell jewelery on etsy?
@ClearMindJewellery
@ClearMindJewellery 5 лет назад
We are actually getting out of selling on Etsy. You can find our etsy link in our about section but there won't be much on there. We are moving towards selling on our own website as of april 2019, you can find the link to our website in the about section as well.

Hey bro, I heard you say you had sold your centrifuge why are you selling that if you plan on doing in house casting? I am confused on that. I bought Andu palm engraver and its sooooo great. I love it. I like it better than my expensive one I bought before from that dick that thinks they should be selling for 3k lol I will not mention names I think you can figure it out. haahah
@ClearMindJewellery
@ClearMindJewellery 4 года назад
We sold the centrifuge as we have the vacuum casting set up which is more reliable (in my opinion).
