A clerk at a Miami auto tag agency was arrested after the bust of a high-end chop shop uncovered a more than $3.3 million title fraud scheme, authorities said.
Katherine M. Vera Moran, 27, was arrested on 18 counts each of title fraud and official misconduct, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
The investigation into Vera Moran dates back to January, when Doral Police officers investigating a stolen car found it pinging inside the bay of a local auto shop.

"Come on... man!" It wasn't her fault she couldn't read English and just stamped all the paperwork that came across her desk. After all, it was done the same way everybody buys a "Green Card." OK, OK, I know, I know, but... when a million vehicles are stolen in the US annually, this is not the exception. It is also the reason why my, and everyone else's, auto insurance has gone sky high. So, I have no sympathy for any of them. On the up-side, they are being charged in Florida, which means prosecuted and sentenced. JUST SAYING...

Some of these schemes are losing efforts from the start. When you start falsifying paperwork and VIN numbers you are eventually going to get caught. The smart thing is to never get involved.
