i also agree that if russell westbrook can develope and reliably consistant jumper and incorporate it into a game thats more of a point guard style his potential is off the charts. I also think russ has a higher ceiling at shooting guard but that would raise the question of where do they put james harden
Nice sportsmanship... after he chased down that guy he decided to stop and help him up. Most guys who get a chasedown just go crazy and dont pay attention to the game. Maturity right there.
From what i have seen Kyrie has skill and he likes to show off his moves instead of sticking to the play, but he is still young and his playing style will soon mature.
definetly for me the most SKILLED in terms off ball handling, he can shoot literally from anywhere can go 8/8 from 3 when he wants can really pass and is a BORN scorer however there other intangibles he aint got that cp3 & rondo tp has he aint the best yet but hes gonna be the best PG very soon
Not knocking Kyrie in anyway because his misses are just impressive as his makes, but did anyone notice when he kept things simple(Shooting the open shot, taking what the defense gave him, etc) he scored, but when he tried to be fancy(Crossovers, flashy, etc..) he didn't score
Did you know derrick has the best ball handling skills in the nba? Did you know Derrick was injured and really had to play a perimeter game witch isn't his bread and butter. So clearly if your the best ball handler and play an a elite level of perimeter offense you're skill set is more than impressive.
Kyrie's speed is actually pretty underrated. I actually think only Wall and Westbrook are definitely faster, but even that to me is sort of up in the air. He looks absolutely superhuman in this video, and that's not even just in comparison to other guys. Just unreal speed, agility, acceleration and balance.
Yup. That's just insane speed and body control. Probably the only player in the league that can make moves like that nearly as quickly as he can, and his speed there is unreal
cause I'm pretty sure that he was going to get one this year or at least make it to finals even over David sterns favourite team the heat. He will always be a contender for championship. If the cavs don't built a team around kyrie soon, either when he is young or around his prime he is not getting a championship.
His athleticism is like Chris Paul, CP3 may not dunk in games but go watch some of those summer games during the lockout CP3 was catching oops, dunking with two hands etc.... their quickness and open court speed is about the same as well, Irving is just taller so of course he can dunk easier.
only thing westbrook has on kyrie is supreme athleticism with a below average shot an below average court vision especially for a PG. Kyrie wins that easily
I feel like ... people don't understand how fast Kyrie is lol. Like he's moving like prime Devin Hester in this clips, it looks like he's a totally different level of athlete from everyone here, while still being relatively big.
right.. people dont know about kyrie.. all they know is his highlight videos. they dont know how he approaches every game with a chip on his shoulder and how he loves the challenge of matching up against the best PGs in the league and goes out there and plays even harder. they dont know how he turns it all the way up in the 4th qtrs of EVERY game.. they dont know so i dont expect them to say hes amongst the best in the game cuz they jus simply DONT KNOW!!
I love Rose but he's out so let's forget about what he would do and see what happens when the two come together head to head because they are both my 2 favorite pgs in the league
Thats the difference between the kyrie and russ. Russ is always looking to make something happen which is good but sometimes he forces it too much and its those occasions i worry he could have a serious injury. Where as kyrie is rarely ever sped up just by defensive pressure. If something is there he will take it. If nothings there he will back it out and set a play whether its an isolation play or looking for open shooters or attacking the basket with his finger roll that hes almost perfected
I was wondering why he wouldn't pass the ball.. his team was down like the whole game he had to stay aggressive but there were times he still could've dished it off
Kyrie=clutch... Westbrook=Shoots like 8/24 a game...Kyrie=good court vision... Westbrook= passes like 6 time per game..Kyrie= crazy crossover . RW=shoots bricks
lol kyrie is nowhere as physical as D. Rose, rose def takes it to the rack stronger, kyrie takes it to the rack smoother though and seems a lot more effortless since he has such a good handle
i understand u have a different opinion about if and thats cool but i justlike kyries potential hes a gifted passer and scorer and he runs clevelands offense perfectly especiaply given the lack of talent we had last year and what he was able to accomplish with that. i find it scary to think of the great things that could happen if we got a 2nd rising star in place with kyrie especially if hes a shooter cuz kyrie will find him. im not too sure of dion waiters at this point but i remain optimistic
Bro D.Rose,CP3,Westbrook,D-Will could have lead the Cavs to the playoffs, it's alot Kyrie needs to learn man, everyone knows Kyrie can play and is very special, but you already think he's on a level that he's not, he will one day no doubt be one of the top PG's in the NBA, but right now....he's not.
Time will tell who is clearly the best PG in the Game and you will see and wont be so oblivious to the fact. My advice, watch the Games, not ESPN HighLights dude.
it's not like Derrick Rose turned the franchise around. ROY , 3x all star, and all most took the inmature bulls to the finals. there 30-7 with rose and 18-9 without. they are only a sub-pare team without rose. Kyrie showed extreme flashes of brilliance but he still has room to develope
its also a basic point that kyrie was the most clutch player in the LEAGUE last year.. not of the rookies.. IN THE LEAGUE.. on top of that, hit 2 game winners, AND the last 2 buckets of the game to put the cavs on top of the mavs, the defending champs (at the time).. 2 takes to the hole, 2 finishes, put the cavs up 3, under 20 seconds to go in the game... if it wasnt for kyrie, the cavs wouldnt have even won 15 games last year. they would have been right there with the bobcats.
Kyrie is Kyrie, not CP3, i hate all of the comparisons. He's a great scoring pg who can shoot with handles, not a great passer. They don't play that much alike, they aren't even the same size.
Been saying this since the 2010 Jordan Classic game....KYRIE IS THE MOST SKILLED PG seen in this life time! The number one spot will be his...who is number 2...CP3, D.rose, Rondo...pick one..IT Doesn't Matter!!!
no sir not basketball. russell westbrook on his best day is steve francis in his prime he scores based on his athleticism and sure he'll hit some jumpers when he gets going but as far as an understanding of basketball and potential and actual PG talent/leadership ill take kyrie over westbrook any time
bet you never watched drose outside of highights. 21 and 8 for derrick. 19 and 9 for cp3 . 12 apg with rondo. 24 and 5 with russel westbrook. 16 and 5 for Kyrie. ROY was deserved but best pg. WAY 2 far to call him the best
