I think it has to do with their backgrounds, personally. Lexa and the grounders are faced with the fact that they can die at any moment, forcing their hand. Also, making Lexa more bold than Clarke, as she was brought up on the Ark with the perfect life with no violence. So, I guess it's just the way you look at it.
Funny how these two straight women, Alycia and Eliza portrays this characters with so much passion, heart and soul. Kudos to these two actresses you capture the hearts of many!

I love Clexa.. I just got my autographed Alycia Debnam-Carey photo as Lexa. I waited years for it. This is my favorite couple of all time!! I cannot believe some of the people that are fans of the book series talked bad about Eliza Taylor playing the role of Clarke. They were saying she was too heavy to play the role. I am so sick of people playing the architect role for how women should look like to be attractive. As long as we let that sort of ignorance pass we will never evolve. I loved Eliza Taylor as Clarke and think she is beautiful.
I never wanted to be a grounder so much as the day I first saw Lexa!!! So gorgeous. 😍 The more I go back and watch the Clexa episodes the more I notice that Lexa was so unapproachable to everyone accept Clarke. She really let her guard down with her and vice versa.. these two were soulmates from the start.

Clexa is, #ToCute + #ToRomantic + #aLoveStory, and, I think a lot of guys was jealous(including her teacher 'Tight Azz, lol, I mean 'Titus)that Lexa chose Clarke, but, no one else, was her #KindredSpirit, in everyway, Lexa recognized that they were the same, "you were born for this Clarke, same as me!", they are the true, 'Head & Heart', together they were #Unbeatable, Lexa put that *kiss* on Clarke, in the tent, then Clarke ran from Lexa, but, Lexa is #ClassyAnPatient, cause when Clarke put the *kiss* on her, when, she was leaving & she didn't want to leave, she hesitated on whether to 'go all the way, Lexa wasn't haven't that, she pulled her down into it, afterall, she is #TheCommander, and, she's badazz in everything she do, even making love, she tried to tell that to Clarke, when, she told her "you never seen me fight!", if Clarke would have been with her, when she came to her on, fight night, she would've found out, how good a lover she is, the way Lexa looked at her, when Clarke told her goodnight, was as if to say, "you really have no idea, what your letting walk out the door, damn!," after Clarke led Lexa to believe, that she cared so much about her, "I can't just sit there and watch you die!, Finn had Clarke in, 3 eps.?, Lexa had to work harder, and, after their tryst to seal their Love, then Clarke wants Lexa, "we don't have to talk at all', meaning, she liked what Lexa did, and, wanted more...from that point on, it's Finn who??, she' completely Lexa's... #ImClexaKruForever2.....
