i have this clicking noise coming from the driveshaft? i have not been able to have another person shift while i lay underneath and feel where the clicking might be coming from. my only guess is a u-joint?
Had the same issue turned out the slip joint was completely dry of grease. Took it apart cleaned it then applied with old tooth brush grease to the splines . The noise and clunk went away alone with the vibration.
Needle barrings in the universal go bad from not being greased and this is what you get. Just did mine a day ago and the noise went away, sounding like my driveshaft had rocks rolling all through it but that’s what it was. Bad universal.
My issue is a clunking noise that happens when driving on speeds between 5mp to 15 mp. At first I thought it was suspension but it happens only on slow speeds, not over bumps. So, I’m going to do my U-Joints today. 2010 Mustang V6
Did u sus it put bro mines started vibrating/whining past 20km and once u got up to about 60km the only thing that would make it vibrate and whine was not having slight acceleration I'm not sure what this is I replaced my rear subframe with a new diff cause the previous one blew and I unfortunately got ripped of being sold a welded diff told it was a mint lsd but I'm not sure if it's the welded diff that blew up or the driveshaft I can't even move now when I put it in drive it'll just start thumping hard as repeatedly anyone have any ideas?
@@sethmartinez994 make sure u inspect the u joints. I order a whole new rear driveshaft with joint but ends up it's only a crack u joint. Could have saved some money
either u-joint or differential pinion bearings dying. u-joint is easy to check, just take off the flange and rotate it around. should spin freely without any kind of binding. should be solid though and not have side to side play anywhere.
