Wowee Maui!!!! I'm not even in the hairdressing business, but this guy was so riviting, I stayed for the entire lecture. I was online, just searching for a hair consultant, and landed on this video.

As a client, have really been put off by stylists not paying any attention to me ,the client, instead talking with their colleagues all the time (and answering phone, booking others while I'm in the chair. Never checking in on how this is the length I want before they cut or ask how I want to style and just go ahead. It is a reason for me to not go there anymore.

Every hairdresser should watch this if you dont listen to your clients' concerns and do what you want to them you'll easily lose a client and make a bad reputation for doing what you want and not listening to what is their hair goals.

You must be able to take control of the client and make sure they know what you expect out of them just as much as what they expect out of you. For example being able to step away when they are on the phone instead of trying to work around the phone. Having good communication is going to encourage clients to come back.

04mscentrum Aha! This is all about HIS "wealth"? If a person just wants a trim and color? That's ALL she wants. If she says: "I want bangs,long--almost over my eyebrows"? LISTEN. Hate when they say: "It'll grow back." WHEN I WALKED IN, I DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT ".....FOR IT TO GROW BACK." I do NOT like salon products pushed ON me, ever.Period.Been there, done that.
