Dear Mr. Civil Rights Lawyer. I see by the dashcam footage, there is NO WAY he was traveling at 80 MPH. Why? To wit, MANY years ago, as a “kid” around 20 years old, the 55 MPH speed limit was incredibly boring. So, there are about 115 dashes to the mile on Federal Highways. I still have, in my brain, the EXACT timing for 55 MPH. The lines pass at just under one second each. Obviously, less time for faster speeds. There is no way this boy was anything over 70. Depending on the interstate, most are 65 to 70 for cars. I invite anyone out there to check the speed by using the dashed lines between the lanes. I have traveled all of the Lower 48, and all the highway markings are consistent. The officer was lying about the speed, regardless of any other devices. The camera would likely not be off save for a few milliseconds, which would be negligible. All timing these days is digital.
The DA that REFUSES to charge these criminals with badges is pro-crime scum. The pieces of garbage in the community that got him re-certified are society’s problem.
I agree. I am not one to want more laws, but we one dealing with re-certifing officers. Any union or lawyer who gets a cop re-certiied should be resp9nsible for that cop. The union or lawyer would be responsible for damages the cop does. Court award would paid by them and not us.

The D.A. is reviewing his past cases for sure. The need to. Any convictions not based on solid, indisputable evidence, will have to be vacated. Incarcerations that hinged on his testimonies will have to be deemed bogus. At least most of them. Releases will be pending. Then that county, has to worry about more lawsuits filed, by anyone wrongfully convicted, because of this idiot.

The rotten cop was probably bring so much cash into the system that whoever recertified him couldn't manage without it, probably getting kick backs that he didn't want to let go of. Decertification should be for life. Rotten apples don't suddenly revert to being edible.
And to give innocent citizen a (better) chance to survive an encounter with the police, these kind of "officers" should get imprissoned for life. The very sad thing is that there are many more of these completely rotten apples in "service". Only very rarely are these uniformed criminals punished, this as practically all the criminals working for their PD's are as bad, "THE FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD DOWN". And too few people have the courage to put in an official complaint, because they are very rightly worried for retaliation of the uniformed criminal gangmembers that are happy to kill.
will not happen I say this because many ask for things that are simply not the solution and in this system that is so dysfunctional Nothing is going to fix it.
Fabricating evidence must have felony consequences. What kind of low-grade justice system allows such criminal behavior to go unpunished.? This behavior can destroy a citizen's life, yet the system doesn't incarcerate the criminal. There should be a mandatory 10-year sentence for falsifying or destroying evidence.
Qualified Immunity - protects these officers no matter how violent or egregious their acts are. Officers don't have to pay for settlements - why would they ever change?
Yeah Qualified Immunity is the catalyst of Police corruption and violation of people's constitutional and civil rights. But the American police forces fail to realize that they have family and children too. I predict that one day the police will pick on the wrong person who doesn't care about the family and children of that police officer. Retribution is a strong alliance for the people. It's a strong motivation for the people.
Qualified Immunity is only for when a officer unknowingly does something wrong and it would be reasonable to make that mistake. this is not it. he knew what he was doing the whole time.
Oh yeah for sure this coward has done this many times. Sadly I'll bet the DA is just going to try and sweep whatever he can under the rug. That's how most of em roll. Cops,judges,DA's... "Law enforcement gang" I wasn't always so cynical but what I've witnessed lately with all of these groups has been very disturbing to say the least
There was a time when they were held at a higher standard that everyone else. Can’t understand why we can’t go back to that. Just on “conduct unbecoming” there would be so many cops no longer working as cops.
@@2olvets443 When was that exactly? Cops have always been above the law. It's just more in our face now we can actually witness what they get away with.
A cop should get double or triple the amount of jail time that a civilian would get! Because when ever they break the law they're Abusing their power!!
AND it still shows up on your record that you were arrested. Even if charges are dropped, that can have an incredibly damaging effect on the individual in countless ways.

They only get upset when citizens waste/require police funds to be spent. When someone "on their side" lies and deceives law enforcement and prosecutors in order to stroke his own ego, that's just something that happens
@@wessltov No one is above the law (in theory), DA's can be arrested and charged, in which an ADA would actually try the case I believe. In addition the Governor can remove in many case the DA. We saw that in Florida, twice now.
Why even bother asking that question? We all know why. The police unions make these murderous psychos untouchable. The entire system is complicit, top to bottom and side to side.
Qualified immunity is a license to commit atrocities. Why tyrants should be granted “qualified immunity” for bad behavior is beyond all rationale for justice.
It made perfect sense that the government SCOTUS would give the government COPS QI as a license to circumvent the constitution and the law. Why do you think it was created with such an impossible hurdle to overcome.
I have to wonder how many times a cop and his civilian buddy is having a drink and have the idea for the cop to arrest his friend and create the circumstances for a lawsuit so the two of them can get rich.
Qualified immunity doesn't apply in situations where an officer commits a willful/wanton assault or in cases where an officer purposely destroys evidence. Until you learn when qualified immunity applies, you should refrain from using the term because frankly, you sound foolish. In a nutshell, qualified immunity applies when an officer, while acting in good faith, makes a mistake. It does not apply when an officer commits a crime. They're police officers, not democrat politicians.
And prosecuted by outside prosecutors. Prosecutors have a close working relationship with their local police departments. This leads to a major conflict of interest as well as outright corruption.

It's also not difficult to not punch someone in the face and break their jaw for criticizing you. And the fact that this criminal cop did this and then stuck the guy in another agencies police cruiser and left the scene is an open and shut case reason to throw him in prison. Yes there is. All of us are worse. We let them do it. If a few thousand of us surrounded police stations and demanded they surrender all weapons this nonsense would stop
There needs to be better laws in place that holds police officer accountable for making up, lies and not the taxpayers. They should have to pay for everything out of their own pocket.

Imagine how many ticket he has issued and arrests he has made over the years. How many “sworn statements” he made that were the sole basis for the convictions! The state should have to dig up every record and reimburse/vacate the judgements of every one of these cases! This is why deliberately lying on a sworn statement needs to be at minimum punished with serious prison time!
It's scary how cops can pull a random person over, make up a story about what they did, arrest them, and without ANY video evidence proving one way or the other get them convicted. Thank God he recovered his video.
Its nothing new, cops have been LIEING and FALSIFYING reports since their inception. A lot of people immediately believe what an officer says on a report is true not matter what. Im willing to bet theres STILL people who believe what this cop's report said is true even after watching the video fotage.
my question is why is an officer of the law not charged with felony tampering, when he is caught deleting evidence, why does it have to go this far, that cops are so hell bent on charging and incarcerating innocent people. why is this tolerated at all, if a cop is found arresting an innocent person, they should be charged with kidnapping, this shit needs to be taken seriously, and cops need to be held accountable, for their atrocious behaviour.

End qualified immunity , make psychoanalysis *mandatory* for all potential police officers . 🚫 narcissism 🚫 🚫 sociopathy 🚫 🚫 psychopathy 🚫 Let's keep 'em out of uniform .
It is mandatory for nearly every department in the nation. The testing literally looks for recruits with sociopathic and narcissistic traits and puts badges on them. Psychopaths are the only people they exclude. They do it because those types of personalities make the best cops in the opinion of departments. They see people who will never admit fault and will stretch the truth and outright lie in court to make cases as a good thing. A very good thing worth going through a whole lot of trouble to psychologically test for and weed out anyone who doesn't show those traits. As long as people keep calling for the very same type of testing departments already do we're going to keep getting the exact same type of cops. Cleche stereotypes of narcissists and sociopaths. With limited intelligence because that's also something they specifically look for.
