Just love Cliff. This is a great interview. Thanks for uploading it. Cliff looks great. I've loved him since 1959 when I first heard Living Doll, and he's been my one constant love ever since. Also sending get well wishes to Gloria.
There is only one Cliff Richard so brilliant always for 81 year old he is fantastic I have loved him since the start 1957 I was 7 then and still love him.God bless Cliff love as always
You are a national treasure Cliff. And Britain's King of Rock'n'roll /Popular music. John Lennon said, before Elvis there was nothing. Well little did Elvis know that he was responsible for creating the Legend in you. Untouchable. 🎤🎵🎶🎸
John Lennon incorrect It was Bill Haley the best and commercial innovator of R B CW R b R etc Little Richard Fats Domino Pat Boone also All contributed before and alongside Elvis
Yes Katrine he aged rapidly because of that court case but God is very good to him, he did not only bounced back, he re-focused, re-invented himself & proved to the world that he's tough, he's strong not only strong in his faith, but strong in character & he did rise up even stronger. Some ask why does God let evil things happen to good people? Aren't we not aware that even Christ was crucified on the cross? A theologian's answer is that if we had no cross there would not have been a resurrection. Another thing is that we must have Good Friday in order to have Easter. God bless you Katrine.
We in India thought of Sir Cliff as one of us 'coz he was born here.He was the heartthrob ofmany young girls He had an edge over Elvis because of his rather easy to understand accent. He has been around, serenading his fans and what joy he's still with us .A great artiste and a grand human being .Now my granddaughter is his admirer Isn't that simply wonderful?
Wow that's really beautiful and touching when music connects generations. Cliff is indeed timeless and touches all people and all hearts with his music 🎶❤️ and he's the most attractive man on earth to me 😍 both inside and out. God bless Cliff 🙏 and God bless you Ava 🙏stay healthy and take care of you
We love ❤ you in Australia you are an icon Sir Cliff Richard lts a real shame he wasn't preforming at the jubilee concert as he was going through her majesty reign
Gary Good comment Unless entertainer passes young IE John Lennon Bobby Darin Jim Croce buddy holly etc etc they all would be around Cliff Richard age now I think he looks great
"You regret it later" True words, Sir. When I was 15 years old I had the chance not only to see and listen to him but also to meet Cliff Richard at the stage exit. In fact, I was much too shy and hesitatet at first. It was too late, so I met Udo Jürgens there who was surrounded by a bundge of cheering middle-aged ladies. Now, I am no longer that young girl and I guess I will never ever get that chance again.🙂 Greetings from Germany. Keep going and stay healthy.😊
You are a marvellous singer and an examplary one as well. A true gentleman with a big heart. I a dissapointed each time , I feel you should have performed at the concert. It was marvellous to see you in person in the interview at Sky news and on the bus. It was like you walking through the door! To good time s and better times ahead. Wishing Gloria a speedy recovery and a big thank you for being a fantastic and cheery friend to Sir Cliff. Take care dear. Thank you lovely Petra for sharing this and for being a great fan of Sir Cliff. Its because of you I get to know of Sir Cliff achievements much more. God bless.💕💋
Really missed him. He should have finished the concert on Sat with CONGRATULATIONS. Everyone would have been able to sing it. Would have been much more appropriate in my opinion.
@@Stantheman848 …..Why is that? Do you feel uncomfortable with genuine, sincere people? Do you prefer the current collection of false, self admiring, fickle and “precious” little television/screen short term wonders? Answers please on a £20 or £50 note and donated to your local hospice.
I was living in the ABERCROMBIE GUEST house , 55 Pearson Park, Beverly Road, HULL when Cliff was there. He was really nice and was about 17yrs old and playing at the Regal or Regis Cinema performing there alongside Helen Shapiro who was a young girl and Lonnie Donnegan was also there. another day another guest was Derek GUYLER who gave an impromtu show to the guests on his 'washbord' they had dozens of guests and I remember the 'Clyde Valley Stompers' and dozens more
A remarkable man my Mother passed away listening to his music she listened to his music in Manchester where she met my Father in 1966 may the both rest in peace 🙏
And to think that he helped Olivia Newton-John get her first big break when she was starting out in England. She acknowledged this on The US Music Show The Midnight Special in 1980 before Xanadu came out and they sang "Suddenly". He did "his" Version on "It's All In The Game" by Tommy Edwards that was featured on American Bandstand but he never was as big as Olivia was. He even had Aretha Franklin on his Variety Show where she sang "Don't Play That Song For Me".
Sending prayers to Gloria for a speedy recovery 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Gloria please listen to your doctors and follow their instructions as sometimes falls can be a sign of some hidden disease
Interesting Elvis story, but forgot to mention back in 1959 when elvis was in the military in Germany and cliff was visiting, he went to Elvis's home there, Elvis obviously didn't live on base, it's suggested or inplied in elvis history, but he lived off base in a big house with his family, cook etc and was driven back and forth between the base when he wasn't training. Anyway cliff visited his home on the off chance of finding him there, but he wasn't home. You can probably find the old cine footage here on RU-vid showing him visiting Elvis's home in Germany back in 59
The young ones legends stay strong stay safe takecare becareful out there dont let guards down sending hugs luck love from headway Nottingham UK takecare love you all xxxxx
He was treated disgracefully by the filming of police raiding his property, it was devastating to him and I'm glad he has come through that terrible ordeal , I've no doubt about his character as a decent person
Cliff's career is as long-lasting as the Queen's reign. A compilation of a few of his hits would have been just fine. Can't get over Diana Ross headlined. Ah, well, queen Aretha's singing elsewhere.
At 17 you couldn't possibly be thinking 60 yrs from then still doing it! I'll bet he said to somebody, I'm just trying to work out what I'm having for me dinner!
I'm always falling balance problems lol brain injury hypoxia I died 26minutes spent weeks months in coma rehab hospital learning talk walk again been a recovery massive discovery never ever give up on yourself many will never yourselves keep going doing amazing things considering doctors saying I will never talk walk again doctors were switching machine off I wroke up lol secret is never give up keep going keep positive keep believing keep trying xxxxx
I'm always deeply shocked and sad to read such nasty comments, slander etc about Cliff under the videos😢 For me Cliff is a heart on two legs ❤️ a living legend, a treasure for the whole world 💯👏👍and he has made our hearts and souls infinitely happy with his music and generally for decades. May God protect and bless Cliff forever and always 🙏 ❤️ Love you
Looking very good considering his age. Great entertainer, haters have envious issues, don't stress out because you may not even live to 81 if you carry on stressing out with that burden on your shoulders.
I think cliff didn't want elvis looking bad and people being cruel and comparing 'fat' elvis to slim cliff. It is called consideration and admiration for some he held in high regard as a performer.
I didn't like his comment regarding Elvis being over weight and him not wanting a photo with him because of that . Cliff could never have been as good as Elvis ever
How fickle is Cliff To only want a picture with Elvis when he looked thinner and in better shape, what kind of message does that give out?!🤷♀️My mum loved Cliff but unfortunately I went to a record shop when I was younger and a lot of people were waiting for Cliff outside. He came out of the shop and told his fans to stop behaving like wild animals and it totally put me off him.I understand it might be scary but the comment was unnecessary! Never had a lot of respect for him since then.
That's a shame Melanie, as his albums between 76 and Early 90s are unquestionably the best ever pop/rock records encapsulating a commercial sound, from any artist in the world at that time, he was THAT GOOD back then. Not too late to give him a 2nd chance, as he was only a kid back then, outside the shop, and his interaction with his devoted fan base these last 64 years is unparalleled by any artist, group or band anywhere in the world. Check out the following albums: I'm Nearly Famous Rock and Roll Juvenile I'm No Hero Always Guaranteed 7 The I'm No Hero album is commercial pop/rock perfection, where even the superb title track struggles to make the top 6 on that album, as the other tracks are so good. Let me know how you get on.
@@brianvincent4165 I’m not denying he wasn’t good.My mum loved him which is why we were outside the record shop.I also liked his records but it doesnt excuse his behaviour to his fans at that time and no excuse can be made,he wasn’t young either, and even if he had been, you still don’t behave like that.Where would he be without his fans?
What the hell is a "national treasure"? Who decides? Seems to me this title is given largely has beens/wannabes. Its the celeb fraternity who entitle themselves this way. Another luvvie trend.
Cliff certainly has had girlfriends, he was engaged to a girl in the 1960's , she later married Adam Faith. Before that he dated a girl called Delia Wicks, they spilt up because he chose his career before her and wrote a letter to say it was over, it sounds quite shallow and cowardly. There was a rumour he had a sexual relationship with Carol Costa, she was married to one of the Shadows at the time. More famously in the early 1980s he dated tennis star Sue Barker, so, he's certainly not gay.
@@stuartp1859 it's in his autobiography. I just remembered the girlfriend he was engaged to. It was Jackie Irvin. Cliff was besotted with her, she married Adam Faith eventually.
@@thecelticdruid7707 his mom didn't approve either. But they remained friends. He decided not to marry because he thought it unfair with being away on tours so much.
OMG In the so-called, "Thumbnail" I would have sworn, had we not had the title/caption to guide us, that the image provided was that of a fragile old biddy
@@melgrant7404 Not so. The allegations were by 2 guys in jail. One for sexual assault. It was proven he couldn't have done anything at all thanks to meticulous records and accounts kept by his manager. My husband, a rock guitarist worked quite a lot for Cliff. We stayed at his house for a week. His housekeepers, a husband and wife monitored everything and kept records, too. Cliff had been deemed gay since becoming a Christian and being a batchelor for decades. Gutter press, then fowl gutter mouths jumped on the bandwagon to try and make a buck out of him. Dimwits.
