Hey Goodhumans! This was one of the most requested episodes we’ve had. It was also one of the toughest to tackle for our team, but deeply illuminating for us as well. We hope the same for you. Here at Jubilee, we believe in the value of open & honest discussions in order to pave a path towards empathy and develop a better understanding of people with different perspectives. I laughed out loud when she said "threats to western civilization" that really was one of those phases that tells you everything about a person.

old guy: “we need to have a middle ground on this” there can’t be a middle ground when everyone’s DEAD

A debate cannot be had when one side refuses to accept basic reality and scientific fact. And we didn't make this a political issue. They did.

Small suggestion: Start doing Jubilee video's with people from all around the world, not only Americans. That would really show all kinds of perspectives throughout the world. I understand the quality of the video's would go down as not everyone can speak as fluently as natives but it would really add another layer of depth to see and hear the opinions of people on other parts of the globe :)

I find it a bit selfish on how skeptics feel suppressed by the fact that they have to start making better choices because of climate change and don't think twice of how we are also affecting different species that also have the right to live in a sustainable world.

I feel so bad for the climate activists! 😅 imagine the level of patience they have to not shout at the other side.🤣🤭

I live in Belgium and there have currently been catastrophic inundations because of climate change. Homes were destroyed, villages were underwater, people drowed, people died. Even though all of this happened nowhere near where I lived, some children in my school did. While I was having the best holiday in spain, I got emailed by the school. While a student was in summer camp, she fell into the river, she was swept away by the current of the river and found by a farmer, dead in a field, far away from where she was last seen. She was only 14. And I am now watching a pair of old people gambling on and on about how none of this is true, that this extremely brutal climate change is just natural? They are the generation who started to destroy our earth, and they are still shamelessly continuing to do so. While they have fulfilled there "destiny" and lived there life, because of their ignorance and their selfishness, young people pay the priceof their actions, the future of humanity is dying. And I'm beginning to think, maybe a world without humanity would be a better world.

Sometimes I have faith in humanity, then I watch videos like this and that faith dies because people are awful

Keith entered the wrong debate. He was asked to participate in a climate change debate but everyone one of his inputs was him just going on a tangent about the American constitution.

I would love to see an updated version of this video, considering the fact that things have become more dire. I wonder if any of the skeptics have changed their minds?

Based on my observation, i think the winner of this debate is from the activist who have given facts and viable solutions in their statements while the skeptics have their feelings to use as their main argument

these episodes always present a stark difference in intelligence and factual information between the two sides.

I'm only 22 seconds into the video, but I can already say: do you want to be able to breathe on this planet freely and live the life we wish to live? Then yes, sometimes you have to do things you might not want to do, which is trying to protect our planet. If we go on like this and give people the choice whether to try to help our planet or not despite thinking "eh future generations might not have a healthy planet like that but hey, I don't want to do this because it's too much work and there's no chance in my lifetime it could result into something worse", we're not going to have something sustainable for future generations. Come on people.

The main three points skeptics rely on: 1. China 2. The money 3. Our Constitution Smh no wonder why our environment is going down the drain..there is way too much greed🤦‍♀️

This is weird, I feel it is interesting that there were divided opinions, but I feel extremely sad that there are people unwilling to bend their arm the slightest to help this planet thrive.

The people paying for his Social Security are not going to have Social Security when they need it, yet we are still required to pay into it. Welcome to real life.

I live in Oklahoma. I would love to hear small town country folks opinions on this topic. I’m hearing a lot of knowledge but to me they are speaking on/from a big city prospective. My suggestion, what about a big city prospective vs a small town prospective on both sides of the argument. Love you guys and this channel!❤️

Skeptics summed up : money > environment + future generations + earth

I just did a binge watch of a few episodes of Jubilee debates and I think it does a GREAT disservice to the viewer and the participants to not show a unedited version of these conversations. For those who can’t sit through long videos they could upload these small clips (don’t totally agree with that because your not getting the whole picture) along with the full clip. This is just my opinion based on patterns I noticed in their editing. Also it is clear people like forming opinions about certain participants based on these 15min videos, I wouldn’t feel confident in your judgement when you haven’t heard all they have had to say. Just my two cents

Is it just me or do the climate change skeptics seem selfish? Like bruh, our earth is dying and all you care about is money? “When the last tree is cut down, the last fish eaten, and the last stream poisoned, you will realize that you cannot eat money.”

I wish the climate activists would have brought more data to the conversation such as the cost efficiency of renewables. Skeptics want choice but they also won't make safe choices if they continue to be willfully misinformed.

I kind of agree with both lol. the every day person has to change so much, and i'm sure it helps a little..... but also, the biggest things are out of our control. because it's the big companies that needs to change. Farming and slaughting animals..... fishing industry... THOSE things will still be there even if we go eco... i think the pressure is too big on people who already struggle. it's politics and industries that ruin things NOT us normal people.

Sometimes it seems like that constitution is a double-edged blade. Cause holy crap there's a lot of people who stick to that with no capability to think a straight thought on their own. It's a constitution! It can be changed!

The problem is climate activist have no feasible plan. You can promote electric vehicles all you want, that doesn’t mean the average citizen can afford one…. Or what about people who have already paid their auto loan and simply don’t want to make another car payment?? Are you going to force them to take out a loan for a new electric vehicle?? Electric heat won’t keep houses warm in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York etc. I’m an HVAC technician yes heat pumps are effective but the moment it drops below 32 degrees they no longer work the same. And lastly you must destroy in order to build, I don’t know how we change that based upon how society currently functions.

it`s so funny because here in germany we have the exact same arguments: "If only Germany cares about climate change it won`t change anything." Many countries are probably saying: "if we are the only ones that do something it is not gonna work" instead of just doing it.

Something I didn't hear when the activists and skeptics were discussing costs is the impact on the economically disadvantaged. Many people cannot simply choose to drive less because they commute to work & can't easily get new jobs closer to their homes. Also, the average person can't just go out & buy a Tesla. Some middle class families can afford hybrid vehicles, but people trying to work their way out of poverty (or keep from slipping into poverty) have to drive whatever kind of car they can afford, even if it's not "green."

I don't think our level of science and understanding and our level of technology arnt high enough for us to be able to completely rule out if it truly is us or I think maybe it could be something todo with solar activity increasing aswell also it's extremely hard for them to get an exact temperature of the planet because they can't measure exactly how much the carbon reflects of the clouds and it's easier to use the measurement of the vegetation because the thermostat models are built on shaky foundations

I really find it interesting when you can tell by the appearances who’s on which side.

you guys need to stop roasting the climate skeptics they will be roasted when the heat waves and extreme weather changes hit them

Could you do a video on nuclear energy and it’s relation/role in climate change (as a clean vs. dirty form of energy)? Also maybe considering Thorium etc.? Since they’re shutting down all nuclear plants here in Germany that would be awesome - maybe some other people would be interested in this as well! Thank you for your consideration.

"Why should we do something, when China is worse than us" This mindset is extremely childish and basic. Just because someone else is "worse than us" doesn't grant us the right to completely disregard climate change. As a country the U.S. has many resources and the largest economy. It is our responsibility to do what's in our power to help our world.

Watching this in 2021 as catastrophic weather is even more common... is a trip.

Scientist with 50+ years in the field: Climate change is real. Man: Yeah, but if China's not gunna' do anything then why should we? And they wonder why the rest of the world thinks Americans are idiots.

That is what I call a debate each one of them is not shouting over the other (Pier Morgan) but each is allowed to make their point and the other team is allowed to counter the argument if they can.
