Remco over Pogačar is highest level of delusional I ever witnessed. It literally does not matter which year. There was no year that even suggest that Remco could be anywhere of Pogi climbing level.

Good (and fun) analysis guys! Would prob put Vine, Mas, O’Connor and A Yates one level down

Is there really no chance for rog? I remember after the Vuelta crash one of you said "he's retired." 😭

isnt there only like 50 riders here, so everyone should be in the top 50 tier?

Couldn't listen due to audio driver issues on my laptop, so i don't know if there is a reason for Bernal being below Mas, Carapaz, O'Connor, Landa & Rodriguez. Is this due to his accident making it unclear how he will perform in the future? If not, you guys have to be smoking something good. I could understand if you put them all on the same level, but putting him 1 or 2 levels below is just crazy. Vine has not shown any sort of consistency in his climbing, and while his w/kg may be up there, i think he still has a lot to prove to be considered a top tier climber. Before every good Vuelta performance, he took a day off. He needs to prove himself day after day in tough mountain stages with HC climbs, not cherry pick stages that suit him to flex his muscles and then disappear for a week. I mean, same level as Pogacar? Please. If Vine doesn't start improving on longer climbs consistently over the course of 3 weeks, then he should be on the same level as Kuss. I'm an big Evenepoel fan and believer (for years), but the same (still) goes for him (but less so), he hasn't had the chance (due to his crash in the Vuelta) to show if he's really up there. I think he is, but for being God Tier i think he needs to confirm in the Giro first. Also quite telling 5 of your top 7 are guys coming out of La Vuelta. Come on. A great climber has to be consistent, has to have the watts, has to prove himself on steep climbs, short and long, after a tough 200k stage in the third week of a GT. Plapp on the same level as Vlasov and Quintana? Vlasov 3 levels below Vine? Uran 3 time GT runner up, perhaps you think he's meh because he's over the hill, fair enough. It's quite clear you are focussing too much on pure w/kg exhibitions and small sample sizes on one hand and personal bias (likeability) on the other. It makes for a list that is unfortunately completely and ultimately not credible and it is hurting your credibility. Carthy has 3 GT top 10s and one podium, he's currently not having his best time, but i think his potential is way better than top 50, wouldn't you say? And if you are not looking at potential, then you shouldn't put Rodriguez, Vine, Evenepoel, Ayuso... as high as you did either. Also, maybe you should change the tier "not great, not terrible" simply to "(very) good".

This list is trying to predict 2023 climbing performances practically. So I had some crazy bets (Vine, Bernal, Rodriguez) - CyclingGraphs

I personally don't like that you seem to look too much at the results they could get. Like being a domestique doesn't make one a worse climber suddenly.
@WattPolice
@WattPolice Год назад
Difference is that domestiques go all out and blow up at a certain point compared to gc riders + save themselves on other stages which makes their performances less impressive. - Naichaca

@@WattPolice Sure, but that doesn't suddenly change their climbing potential/prowess. Hirt suddenly isn't going to be a worse climber because he'll domestique for Remco and goes a bit harder for a shorter time. Isn't it so that this still should more or less follow their w/kg over time curve? Obviously domestiques are always meant to be weaker than their leaders, painting them even lower on the rankings based on a domestique role just doesn't seem quite right. Essentially it then is results vs climbing prowess. I'd rather a comparison like this be based on the later than the former.

Not even properly started the video yet and I'm here to comment that if Jai "6.5 for 37" Hindley isn't God Tier imma go crazy on your asses.
@MDP1702
@MDP1702 Год назад
When did Vine do 6.5 for 37"? He did 6.58 for 30". Also the problem with him is consistency. 1 or 2 big climbing performances in the year isn't enough.

@@ThisIsANameBruh A one time result from 2+ years ago doesn't (and shouldn't) really count for a 2023 climbers tier list.
