I solo hike Rawlins Peak in Rawlins Wyoming to do the first ever SOTA activation for amateur radio of this peak. (this video is about: Bob Broeking, WhiteSpider, Jet Skiing, Jet Ski, Yamaha Waverunners, , Seadoo's, jet skiing on lakes, rivers, the Gulf of Mexico, the Ocean, in Natural Springs, hiking, climbing, amateur radio, POTA, and SOTA. Thanks for watching! Did you get a jet ski? I saw your relive video. I did stay on top but it was sunny hot and WINDY and Debbie was waiting to rescue me so after doing radio I came down via the other ridge (mistake)! hahahahha

Holy moly. Thanks for sharing. Rawlins is in the middle of nowhere. I would have never thought this was a SOTA activation. Sorry to hear about your antenna and your camera.

Thanks for the feedback; camera repaired/replaced actually... the antenna did not break actually; I worded that funny on the summit. I meant to say I got it down BEFORE it broke. :-) To be fair to Rawlins it is on a major interstate! hahahahha.... the following week I activated two parks for POTA for the first time and thery WERE in the middle of no place. Even put on my gun for one of them (had Debbie with me) ....that video will come out in a week or so! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@BobBroeking We travel I-80 going out to Colorado a couple times a year to visit family. One year I got into a wreck between Red Desert and Rawlins right around Christmas at night. They have issues with Elk wandering onto the road and the car in front of me hit an Elk. I swerved to miss it and ended up spinning out. They towed me into Rawlins as it was the closest town. I started SOTA last year and it didn't even occur to me there would be a peak out there. I'll have to stop in and activate it next time I'm through there. Looking forward to the new video.

I have heard a lot of winter interstate stories where people end up spending the night in Rawlins; glad you were ok. Yes, go up the SW ride like I did and then COME BACK DOWN it! :-) hahahhahaha
