Clinical Screening for LGBT Patients (Panel using Cases)

Health care providers should be informed about LGBT health due to the existence of multiple health disparities that affect these populations. Health disparities facing LGBT populations are thought to stem from a lack of informed health care. LGBT populations have lower rates of mammography and Pap smear screenings. This session will offer a scenario-based discussion of suggested LGBT health screening protocols. For instance, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provide recommendations on the screening for and prevention of sexually transmitted infections in MSM communities - and so in essence this session will provide an opportunity to discuss scenarios and screening protocols.
This session is case-based.
