49:22 I like the presentation of the female speaker much better. This is should be the standard across the nation. Going to a medical provider is nerve wracking enough. If a patient is put on the defensive over their sexuality, that’s just going to amplify any anxiety they already had.
LGBT gets all lumped together out in the wild, but within the medical context being transgender or intersex are medical concerns. Someone’s sexual orientation is not. A straight man’s body parts and a gay man’s both work the same exact way. Same thing for any other cisgender person irrespective of who they’re attracted to. If a CB patient has an STI, the infection doesn’t care what the person’s orientation is. So neither should the provider. But transgender or intersex people have medical issues specific to that set of circumstances.
Of course, I support inclusivity, but me, personally if I had to walk on eggshells every day to do my job, I would quit that profession. I mean, you could still be a doctor, but just not dealing with any patients face to face.
