Some people say this is cheating. Who cares, this is a feature you should use it. Digital art is totally different from traditional art that drawing with pencils

if its saves tune its not. beside you need to know anatomy to imagine poses. it just helps in making imagination reality

3D models are definitely useful. Even Ufotable (the animators of Demon Slayer and Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works) uses simple 3D models to animate fight scenes and then draws over those models.

Yes, it also helps you improve your art so much, it's easy to use and helpful when you need it at perspective and parts you are not good at.

And Faces. I had a really hard time trying to draw faces,but Know with the 3d mannequins I Can not only draw bodies a LOT better than before,I don't have to use bases anymore,and thanks to the Preset Character Models,I Can draw faces or even hair and clothes easier!

I thought doing poses and using the models were all moved to the Modeler. This just helped me so much.

Very cool. I just bought the program. I hear it has some animation functions, too but I'm just starting to explore. You know what would be awesome, is if these 3D models had a bump map function so that we could then import our drawings into something like After Effects and give them a little depth.

Interesting! I’m looking for a way to draw child figures with oversized heads (think Charlie Brown). I saw how the figures could be manipulated to be fat or thin, but how about changing other proportions?

I know it’s late but you can you can make the head as big as you want or a small just to let you know only the anime one does that the real life version for some reason I can’t seem to get the head any size I want

Set up the pose as a reference, the ability to draw anatomy is a skill that I should practice so I should not rely on this too much

Can you create your own model by designing a person and then somehow making that person and their body shape available to use like a 3D model? *this is so I know if I must redraw any characters I create each time or if I can just manipulate their pre-existing body shapes into new positions*

I can't draw when the 3D model is visible, even tho I'm drawing on a different/normal layer. When I try to draw it makes jittery straight lines instead of my brush strokes

You gotta pin some joints so they stay in place. Like a rag doll. Then you can move everything else on the body.

You can alter the opacity on the pro version. Maybe you have it on fast mode?

Switch it from fast to normal mode and you’ll be able to change the opacity

how do you select multiple joints at once? is it impossible to accurately move both arms into the same position? like if I wanted both arms going doing the same pose, on opposite sides of the body.

I'm confused by this too. It didn't even lock multiple joints in the video after she said that. Having to select joints one at a time wastes a lot of time. It would be even better if you could select multiple joints at once, then hit a button to lock everything else

Using 3D modeling does not make it tracing or cheating, because you’re not stealing artwork from other people. Also, wouldn’t be better if drawing or animating faster if you had a model? Like a modeling reference for example?

It’s not cheating to me as long as you don’t trace. I’m gonna use it to get the best possible reference but it’s up to me to make the shapes work on my own

i think ill just stick with daz3d and blender for my 3d modeling needs and just import as obj...the modeler is a mess for bringing in custom characters...needs more file support and better rigging options... such as if you want to make a tail or have a squid like characters...and it shouldnt even be called a modeler because its not...a modeler would allow you to fully build a character from the ground up and you cant really do that in the csp modeler software...if it was like vroid but with even more options it would be a huge hit...

I just got this software but the 'manipulator' or the colored lines in a circle (I'm new) are too thin for me. I'm just using a mouse for now as I don't have a graphics tablet yet. I want to make them thicker so I can easily click them. I hope someone can help me...

Probably you are on wrong layer. Models can be only on 3D layer. You can't draw on it either

Fun fact. Disney had been doing something similar to this for years. It’s called “rotoscoping” 😂 it’s probably how some of your favorite classics were made. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s cheating, those are the same people who believing you should work harder not smarter and would prefer a chisel and stone over a pencil and paper.
