It Does seem that maybe that Is whats happening, as in they decide which tracks they want to play, but William and Jonathan Intentionally dont tell Daveed the order to make it more fun and interesting for him as a performer, as well as stimulating their Own creativity by their search of the cool transitions between the songs themselves.
I mean, it's very, very amazing but I have seen some incredible live streamed performances during this pandemic. Architects Live at the Royal Albert Hall and Boston Manor's Live at the Blackpool Tower are some truly memorable ones that felt very grand yet raw at the same time. The difference though here is that Clipping did it for free and this whole setting suits Clipping far more. A really great set.
Yeah he just straight up oozes talent. He obviously lives this shit. Practices in his head relentlessly. Perfects every nuance of it. The band's rhythmic concepts compare to goddamn Meshuggah.
if you get the chance 100% you need to! I drove from Boston to brooklyn right after work a couple years ago to catch them at Elsewhere in brooklyn. Not only did I get to meet Daveed, the performance was incredible. Everyone there was about the music, it really seemed like Daveed, William, and Johnathon were having a ton of fun just playing music I usually go to 25+ concerts a year for the past 10 or so years and this one still sticks out as one of the absolute best I've been to.
15:00 get up + nothing is safe mashup 17:45 check the lock 21:26 shooter 24:55 body & blood 29:40 inside out 32:20 say the name 40:32 enlacing 44:54 taking off 47:47 baby don’t sleep 50:48 la mala ordina 53:32 blood of the fang (intro) 55:15 blood of the fang 1:00:10 pain everyday 1:03:45 work work 1:07:00 a better place here’s a set list for everyone :) the times probably aren’t the most accurate so i apologize for that lol
if i had a dollar for every time my favorite band was a pair of white boys tearing apart the production while a black guy gets absolutely unethical on the vocals, id have two dollars Which isnt much, but its weird that its happened twice
Daveed remembering whole books worth of lyrics and perfectly articulating it. Pretty crazy. And I stumble on the one line from All Black I try to remember
@@noahnederlands7642 No Joke. I mean, I was Never really into hip hop (at least not yet) until clipping. changed that due to their awesome production, but I was Instantly hooked into the so-called "bars" the moment I heard Daveed rap, as opposed to Death Grips where I dont really care about the lyrics (I tend to not care about the lyrics in general, since for me Music in music has always been the priority). This one and Other live performances truly showcase How skilled a performer he really is, and there is NO DOUBT that his theater training has a Big role in that.
@@liamdwyer969 Dude, I would Not be, because Ive heard about their themes, etc. but I cant understand the guy, so... :D That said, as I explained before, for me Music is the most important thing in music, and lyrics will always be the least of my worries.
just wow. im in awe at how well you guys made this feel like a real clipping show, I kept forgetting I was watching a livestream. I'm counting the days till concerts/tours start back up again cuz seeing clipping perform live when they visit your city is a MUST.
This is industrial music with one of the best hip hop vocalist we’ll ever hear. Such a heady combination. Noise elements as well. If Aphex Twin had a frontman who could rhyme at the fasted rate. This is majick.
Someone better put this show on a usb drive and put it in a rocket and send it to one of the moons around Jupiter so the aliens up there know that this is how we gettin down here on the 3rd rock from the sun. This is another level of music. Much love to clipping for providing us with the free entertainment.
Y’all were so dope, I cried, I laughed, I fangirled like hell (especially when you took off your hoodie, and every time you laughed, and the "EUGH" while in the middle of the rain squatting down) But damn, you guys going live made me feel extremely happy for the first time in a very long time ❤️❤️❤️ I love y’all so much! Clipping is forever gonna be in my Yay Area heart..this is the best thing that happened to me in 2021 by far TwT and now, ima watch it again- ÙwÚ
I remember watching this live, and how I felt so much gratitude for technology letting me watch them live. I was lucky enough to share this experience in the same room with someone who also loves clppng. Thanks, we still speak fondly of that day!
Fun fact (if I remember this correctly), their name is clipping. (With i's), but the reason their album is called Clppng. Is because throughout the entire album there is no verse rapped from a first person perspective (the I in rapsongs)
Thanks for that set! I mentioned in the chat I had woken up from a nap- suicidal, and ready to do my head in. (And no I’m not kidding) Forgot I had left phone on and woke up to their set. Made my night better, and I actually donated. Again, thanks for helping me to look outside of myself.
You're worth it!! I'm not like a big God person but sometimes God is like hey let me present you with a reason why this life is worth it! A clipping show! Glad you're still here ❤️
@@IbokRock811 Appreciate it bro. It’s crazy how this just happen to randomly come out of nowhere. I forgot I had set the reminder on my phone a long ass time ago to even open this set up once it began. I still got problems, hey, somehow this kept me going even if it’s just for tonight.
@@misstekhead Exactly!! If it wasn't for the fact that I scrolled thru RU-vid for a second today - and I don't spend a lot of time on RU-vid anymore - I wouldn'tve found this at all! And yeah - it's a really hard time - a lot of lonliness with the pandemic I find - but this did make me happier! Glad it had a similar effect for you!
@@IbokRock811 Not sure who you are, but sometimes it does matter that someone out there saw I’m hurting. Again, thanks. Alright I’m about to move my love of clippin. to Spotify. ☺️
Yo, shout out to those fuckin magicians in the back! Those beat switchs where incredible! Also the song structure and flow is insane best Live I've heard!
Seriously - this is The new way to do "touring", at least during these times when live concerts are a no-go. Once a month come out with different set-lists, experiment with more combinations of both the old and new, and then just either stream them, maby try a bit of a more interractive approach to the viewers in that case, or just record the performance and upload it afterwards. Either way, I can say Ive been a fan of clipping. for about an year now, and while I dont normally listen to hip hop, clipping. definitelly makes me want to explore some of their influences when it comes to the genre...
Totally agree!! Also: if you're a fan of clipping and looking to get into some similarly cool hip hop, I'd recommend you check out Death Grips! "The Money Store" is a really good starting point :)
@@evanleblanc7645 Honestly, I appreciate the recommendation, but Death Grips makes VERY different types of music from this. My recommendation would be something like Yeezus, way easier to ease yourself into the sound before you jump into something like The Money Store.
@@TheResidence.mp4 Yeezus is where Kanye was inspired by death grips.(or more like his team) I think if someone can get into clipping they will handle death grips easily, and the way each album sounds totally different there is a lot of choice
@@JuStOkTa That's true, I actually agree that they might be able to like Death Grips as well because they like clipping. Yeezus was my first rap album of this kind so I thought it'd make a good introduction for them as well. Edit: Grammar error
@Evan LeBlanc respectfully, death grips and clipping are very different vibes. Daveed uses pretty modern and traditional rap flows and styles to flip trends on their head, over production that does something pretty similar. The beats are also out there, but they are still very much so rooted in hip hop. Death Grips are fucking wild, the rapping is crazy, and sounds almost like a different genre completely in comparison. The production is the brutal and viceral, only MC Ride could find a way to follow some chaotic and noisy instrumentals. Death Grips are great for sure, but to start I would lean towards artists like Run The Jewels, Jpegmafia, or Injury Reserve before jumping straight to Death Grips
Taking Off is such an insane musical achievement, watching this just made me realize there's hardly any actual beat for him to ride and he's just keeping time with the rhythm in his own head
Daveed looking at the camera, in the last song, singing "Are you ready to go?" with the nicest expresion I've seen in my life Has fully convinced me that Diggs is a God and that when I die he'll be there to take me into the afterlife.
The live made me realize how clever that song is, talking about metal shavings kn the welcome mat. Daveed doesnt treat his audience like we're stupid and I love it
Daveed's brain - lyrics, flow, vibe - never ceases to BLOW MY SMALL MIND!!! And of course the beats are sick! (I'm so glad ppl commented on the pants in the chat xD) But yeah - one of the best shows I've "been" to in a while - and not just cuz I haven't been going to shows!! INCREDIBLE
31:52 “that’s a good one, always have a good time with that song” I feel you Daveed, that’s why I did it at my school’s coffeehouse(or talent show). Of course I had people who would ask if I wrote it, and my folks who questioned my choice in song mainly cuz I was shouting the lyrics
This is so good... can't stop coming back to this video again and again...! When the pandemic will be over (hopefully) please do a tour in Europe, really need to see/hear this live!
Daveed Diggs has been a massive inspiration to me lately. I'm musically illiterate, so not in that sense. Just as a human being. If anyone's reading this, please watch Blindspotting. A feature film he made with Raphael Cassel. I get genuinely sad when I think about how underappreciated that movie is.
