Clipping my Mustang (Denali) | 2020 Georgia TIP Challenge

We are 2 months into the training period for the 2020 Georgia TIP Challenge, with one month left to go! (Video filmed around Day 60)
Denali is a part of a 90-100 day mustang training competition.
I bodyclip my competition mustangs as they are in a high work schedule and it’s pretty hot here- it keeps them cool and as a bonus, they have a much nicer and healthier looking coat when it comes time to show.

I love seeing your mustangs! Could you do a video on how you teach your mustangs to hard tie and cross tie? I’m struggling with that with one of my mustangs.

I can only imagine how hot these guys get in Florida when their body is like "oh yes time for winter floof" haha. I'm in the UK and it can't quite decide if it wants to get cold or stay warm - and the horses are all getting so sweaty on the warm days

Any reason why u clip the mustangs ? Is that sort of the challenge or is that just like a preference

It’s a preference. I like my horses that have a competition to have a healthier and nicer looking coat, so clipping helps with that when it’s going into winter and they start getting fluffy. His winter coat had him looking kind of dirty I suppose, so this helps him look a lot nicer! A bonus to it is with Florida, the horses develop winter coats even when it goes into the 80’s, so if they’re in work, they don’t get as hot.

@@CZMustangs Have you ever heard of the Red rock lakes HMA my mustang is from there and I can’t find anything about the herd except for on the BLM website it’s not even in the search thing on the online corral

He was getting fluffy and grungy looking- we have a big show coming up and I like my competition horses to look clean and have a healthy coat. Plus all the Florida horses I’ve got get fluffy and it stays in the 80’s so they get hot :-) It helps keep them cool if they’re in a training program.
