“Buy once, cry once” and “Buy cheap, buy twice.” are 2 quotes I try to think about when purchasing something. If you are backpacking there is a quote of “Ounces turn into pounds” which I find holds true. If you don’t believe me, hold a 3 lb. weight at arms length straight out in front of you. It may seem light at first but as times passes it will feel like it weighs a lot more than 3 lbs The same thing happens with weight in your backpack and the longer you walk with it. I bought only one chair, the Helinox Chair Zero and have had it for several years. It has outstanding reviews and weighs 1 lb. and costs $130. I take that chair backpacking with me all the time. The one setback may be the small end caps on the legs sinking in soft ground. To remedy that bring 4 water bottle caps and put them under the legs of the chair at the weight cost of about an ounce. Your two chairs-The REI is 1 lb. 11oz. $69 and the Cliq is 3.65 lbs. and $99 costs you a total of $169. Judging by the weight of those chairs I’ll bet that isn’t the last chair you will buy for backpacking.
Thanks Ben. My older REI chair broke on my Boundary Waters trip this year and I am in the market for a new one. Only minus is the weight but they sure look sturdy.
Cool chairs, thanks for the video. If you have any new flashlights or headlights that you really like using at the minute would really like to see a video.
Tough question to answer but you are pretty stable even leaned back where most other chairs would tip over. Most camping chairs like this are lower to the ground. Not sure if that would be better or worse.
@@livingsurvival Yeah. Comfort is totally subjective. I really like how portable it seems. Great to use while watching my kids play soccer. I'd love to try the chair out but I think the price makes me a little hesitant. Thanks for quality content!
