Author, writer and broadcaster Clive James was diagnosed with terminal leukaemia six years ago. He now believes he is at the peak of his career. Victoria Derbyshire went to his home to speak to him about the miracles of modern medicine, his biggest regrets and his plans for the future.

Such a wise and great man. Wise enough to acknowledge and value his journey and experiencies. Would loved to have conversed with him. 'Unreliable Memoirs' is still the funniest and most honest book i've ever read.

Were it not for medical advancements, Clive would not have made it to his 80th birthday, which he did in October this year, 2019. Had he not been fortunate enough to receive the treatment he did, we might be shy a good deal of poetry and essays. And we may not have his translation of Dante's Divine Comedy. Most of all, his family would have had less of him. That's the biggie.

He seems to still value his marriage and wife. He didn't actually say she had forgiven him just that she hadn't killed him! I hope he was happy in the end.
