I can remember an episode where Doug looked unshowered, had sweaty hands, wrists and arms, sweatstained armpits, drenching back, forehead beading.. the guy was salivating all over the car and leaving it all sweaty and gross.. Many years ago, I bought a CLK-GTR model from a MB dealership in Frankfurt, and I have kept the invoice just because it lists: CLK-GTR / Qty - 1 / Price 30€
I've been waiting with my CLK GTR in the garage for 20 years not knowing how to use it. It's been quite frustrating. Finally I can take it out for a spin!
Over one decade ago a CLK GTR appeared behind me on the Autobahn and waited patiently for me to switch lanes (since it was quite busy). Luckily my GF had enough time to grab her phone and took a picture of him when he passed us. We still heard the revs minutes later :D Absolutely mesmerizing!

@@JDMism nah that's ok. It would of been nice to see it in the video along with everything else he explained. It seems trivial now but a week ago..... no it wasn't. Maybe googling pictures works for you but I'm good. It still a fail.
Fun fact(assuming you're Indian): DK Engineering maintains Vijay Mallya's CLK GTR Roadster. The only RHD one in existence. Sadly has seen just under 18 or so miles on the road
@@shravanav993 0003 VJM 🤘🏼 Was initially built as RHD at the request of the Prince of Brunei, who didn't bother taking delivery of it. VJM bought it from the Prince's family about 10-15 years ago
Procedures I believe are what make special cars special. This is such a special machine and will never be equaled modern day unfortunately. The build quality and homologation details are stunning. Thank you for sharing. Love following DKE from the States!
We are going to get similar cars soon. Toyota has one, the project one, valkyrie, glickenhaus and I believe ferrari has one in development. It's for the new hypercar class.
Great to see the workshop guys are still there, an absolutely cracking bunch of guys in DK, from the top down, they are extremely professional and their knowledge is incredible, as is their attention to detail. Have been lucky enough to visit the premises and would recommend them for their workmanship and they're attitude, plus James can really drive!
Thank you for doing this, these cars are so rare, special, revolutionary, and barely driven. However, you guys gave us an in-depth, knowledge and fascinating look at this stunning supercar!
Well has its pros and cons in this question.....the pro is actually anyone can walk away with front and back pieces!!! The cons is: 1st finding a crew to help you out 2nd finding a CLK GTR on outside 3rd having the luck to get nearby one Well before that point of view i guess is not that easy 😁😁

The sense of bewilderment I felt when, in 2009, at 18 years old, I took my slightly rusty, 1987 Mini to DK Engineering to have the timing adjusted, only to find myself in a showroom surrounded by a Ferrari 250 TDF, an F50 and F40, was staggering. Hats off to them for happily servicing my humble little car, when metal like this is their bread and butter.

Ever since I saw one take off and flip through the air I thought it was badass. Also I love how this literal racecar had a Mercedes bonnet emblem whereas today even the most luxurious Mercedes don't have one anymore

I once stood next to one in front of Monaco's Casino. The valet driver couldn't get the steering wheel mounted, so the owner made a donut in front of it and parked the car himself. I could feel the asphalt vibrating, will never forget that endless feeling of joy and awe!
