this F1, the JAGUAR XJ220, the Ferrari F50, the PORSCHE GT1, the CLK GTR, and the BUGATTI EB110. Icons of the 90s. Today's hypercars are also good, but they don't have a "soul" like this F1. The F1 is a legend.
@@ironguy6482 yes man ! Life is to hard 🥲 ! Now I have to daily drive my pagani zonda chique roadster for some moths , because my special full carbon mso p1 at service centre for some works and my 918 also for some bodywork going to do full carbon version 1/1 , haha can’t wait to see her ! Till then I have to drive my pagani zonda chique roadster 1/5 in the world with manual gearbox , oh man life is so hard 😓
My take away is that Demuro is an elitist, and that never really sits well on anyone. Have a look at him reviewing a Russian Volga from the 80s. Just revolting behaviour.
Look there are Only small number of Cars. Is Logic Not everyone can have this car. This is not only a Luxury Collectible. Is History Important Sport vehicle. For McLaren and this ära of sportwagen
This made me fall in love with the F1 even more... Gordon and his team thought about EVERYTHING!!! It's packed like a boat with all the nooks and crannies for all the stuff. Didn't know about the removable floor in the side pods... What a car. What a car!!!
If there was an Oscar for Autmotive Content, Henry Catchpole (Carfection) & James Cottingham (DK Engineering)'s work should be really appreciated by the industry.
Honestly I have never understood hype over that car , it just look average nothing special , not like supercar should look , and prices are ridiculus ! 21m$ ??? , you can have for that kind of money Bugatti Chiron , Pagani Huayra , Koenigsegg Agera , GLS500 , 5mln$ home too keep them in 5mln$ invested (200k$ a year /16.6k$ monthly) , and 850k$ on you bank accont... (yes I know that people buy that car as investment , and BTW you are subscribed :))
I’ll never own a McLaren F1 but it was critical that I watch the video in its entirety and learn what every button, switch and knob does. Lol Thank you.
Cottingham isn’t as energetic as Doug DeMuro or Schmee but he’s just as entertaining to watch and learn from. I never get tired of seeing his presentations. His formal attitude and walkthroughs are just so engaging and I can’t explain why. Plus, his conservative RP accent is just the cherry on top. So pleasant to hear him speak.
I love that the presenter really tries hard to keep his excitement in bay for the video. We're also pretty excited about all things presented to us. Thank you.
The videos in these series are some of the few I can recall seeing on RU-vid that are not only wonderfully produced, but will have real historical significance. In decades from now when these vehicles are harder to find, these videos will serve as a beautiful time capsule for some amazing pieces of engineering.
Ah, I'm glad I finally know how to use my McLaren F1! It has sat statically in my garage for many years because I've had no idea how to use it. You're a lifesaver DK!
Have really enjoyed this video series James - great delivery and it was fantastic to get an insight into Rome I the finer details of the McLaren F1 I hadn’t been aware of previously. Keep up the good work DK Engineering!
These are legitimately some of the best car videos ever made. So simple, yet so intimate - the sorts of things that, typically, only dealers or owners would ever get to see. Bravo!
I'm really enjoying this series, its so nice to know all the nooks and crannies from these cars and you actually showing them. I would love to see you do more of these kind of clips. Also, you sir, are such a nice person to listen to. Thanks for sharing all this with us, god bless you.
Great video I looked at the title's of you're other videos looks like I'll be doing a binge watching of you're channel looking forward to giving them a Thump's up also .thanks. From the US.
Thank you so much for this. The McLaren F1 is my favourite all-time car (so many road car milestones) and have several 1/18 scale models in different configurations. There is quite a bit I found out from watching this that I didn't know (to be honest there surprising isn't that much in-depth behind-the-scenes info on this spectacular machine) so this has been a absolute treat!
I never ever comment on youtube videos but this series is absolutly wonderful. I would love you guys to continue with this. I will never own a car like that but it gets me as close as I can get :) Thank you
It cannot be easy to 'instruct' the general public on how to properly access and know about certain things or aspects of a car as special as a McLaren F1. As usual, Mr. Cottingham pulls the trick off effortlessly. I would highly recommend anyone that is in the area to make a reservation and call the fine people at DK and ask to come through for a tour. You will be astonished at the passion, knowledge and friendliness of the staff. Car lovers are forever indebted to James for presenting this video and the trinity of videos he has presented. It would be nice for an American firm to be able to match the quality and integrity of DK. Americans are starved for such content and to be able to take our treasured cars to a facility similar to DK Engineering.
Above all, it should be remembered that it was the illustrious Ron Dennis who allowed Gordon Murray to commence the project by financing and building the creation of this perfectly, peerless, paragon of perfection. It will be interesting to see if Gordon's latest masterpiece, the T.50, the "logical successor" of the F1 will join the F1 in the new category of the greatest car of the Twenty-First century. Thank you for a great presentation, James.
Love it how it shows what can be made if the whole project is watched by the vision of a brilliant man. This is why you won't see something as focused and well thought in all aspects from a large manufacturer - from start to finish, the project goes through many many hands, has to meet so much criteria especially these days, compromises on costs, etc. Looking forward to see the final T50 :). Two enginering tour de force these cars will be, separated by 25 years
I watched the whole user guide series, amazing content, detailed film more please so proffesional! It would be interesting also to review some of regular maintenance costs, inspections, etc….
OK, so there's not a chance in hell that most, if not all, of us will never own an F1, but how much fun is it knowing all the particulars about the car. Another great presentation James, thanks so much. Btw, isn't that the Robert Lee Collection Le Mans winning Ferrari Barchetta behind us at the tool box? Now that's a piece of motor sport history!
Awesome video. I can only pray that some day I need to refer to it . I had forgotten about the modem. This seemed like witchcraft back in the old days where you could plug something in and a mechanic geezer in Woking would diagnose any problems
Rather enjoyed that despite knowing I won't ever own a F1. Fascinating to learn just how the thing functions in the same way the Concorde cockpit has so many fascinating details...
