The writers are so good with this couple. When Lois says “why settle for hot rich and famous when I can hang out with u” it’s a diss but also a huge complement. Lois is really saying she like being with Clark more than Oliver. And u even see this transition where Lois is more visible is her feelings for Clark all the way into season 8. Even if u watch the scene u realize when Lois says Grant was a distraction for Oliver. It’s more apparent that Oliver was a distraction for Clark. Lois always had feelings for him she just saw that Clana mess and figured they were meant to be together 🤢. So she buried it in sarcasm and defense mechanisms.
In this scene she’s moving away from the green light snd green bars-like shelves toward CK. The thing is, Clark may have been able to work out- before Lana became kryptonite- with Lana, but he chose to keep a distance. Here Lois chooses to do the same. There are reasons for why they’re avoiding commitment and intimacy with their respective partners that Clark and Lois use to rationalize their choices, but, ultimately, they’re just not ready. Clark was unsure about his destiny so he waffled with Lana when she needed truth and commitment because she has abandonment trauma. Here Lous also has abandonment issues that she hasn’t yet processed. She got spooked by Oliver’s heroism even though that’s what she finds attractive. Once CK embraces his destiny and proceeds at snail speed forward, the two are fine.
“...There’s no room for me in his (Oliver) life...I can’t face another heartache down the road.” Lois was right, Ollie would never have included her in his work...he would have eventually left her behind again. That’s why it worked so well with Clark, they were true partners in every sense of the word.
this scene is so perfect because it matches 10x20 when lois tries to break up with clark for this exact same reason but the only difference is that clark fought for her where oliver didn’t
"I can't face another heartbreak down the road" such a heartbreaking line from Lois she's been through alot and her getting left behind so many times is so emotional💔💔😭😭I'm so glad she got to share her pain with Clark and him being there for her is so special💝💝
I hate it when she goes "we're not like you and Lana, we're not destined for each other" NO your not like him and Lana cos Lana's not supposed to be with him. YOU ARE!! And he wont leave you!! NOO!!
@@kelly3014 And he did it for love. Because he knew that he needed her, and him telling her was the only way they could truely have a real life together. He wasn't afraid of losing her, their relationship wasn't in a bad place. With Lana, it was always desperate. It was always in a moment of loss. He could feel her pulling away, or she was walking away from him. With chloe, Alicia showed her.. clark had no intentions of telling her.. he even erased it once. And when he did tell her... she was like pete and questioned why he never told her. Pete was told by Clark because Clark was scared... and look how that turned out lol. Alicia found out because Clark had no choice unless he let her die. Same with Raya. All the heroes knew because they were all heroes. He did tell Jimmy after his cut disappeared. But Lois was the only person he told because he truely without any obsticals, wanted too.
It's also funny that in Crimson, he just told Lois because he wanted her to be impressed by him, without even hesitating. But Lana, whom he abducted just a few hours later, he didn't tell.
This is part of the reason why Lois initially falls for Clark, she thinks he's just a simple farm boy. But of course in season 8 after much anticipation (bride anyone) they don't get together and Clark distances himself from her...
playsbba018 Yeah, Clark got scared. You do see him falling for Lois though...especially during Stiletto. The look he gave her at the end of the episode could melt steel...and he wasn’t using his heat vision. He fell even deeper for her talking to her as the Blur. ❤️❤️❤️
Idk... because it seems like he would still be with Lana if she wasn't the human kryptonite :-( I know that's a different topic... but I don't like the idea that Lois is TOTALLY hung up on him and he's not giving her his all :-?
Concerning the Lana love scene with Clark in season eight, I think we are looking at it the wrong way. Clark is in love with Lois but he is scared to pursue it, he thinks it is better to be with his previous lover than his current lover because he is scared of the outcome.
I LOVE Clois and totally get that the SHOULD be together, but it's sad cause doesn't this scene kind of show that Lois wouldn't choose to be with Clark, IF she knew the truth about him? I mean, it seems wrong that he keeps hiding the truth from her and she has fallen in love with him... what's the diff between The Rb Blur and Green Arrow? Poor Lois! :'-(
On the flipside, I like to think of this scene as further proof that Clark Kent is the exception to all of Lois Lane's dating blunders in the series. I mean, she gets swept off her feet and left high and dry by a metahuman who wants to save the world with A.C., she vows never to date a co-worker like she did with Grant and breaks up with Oliver because she allegedly can't deal with a guy leading a double life. And then what does she do? She falls for a guy who ticks all three categories and breaks her rules---which ties in with her declaration in "Infamous" that Clark was special and different from all the rest. At least that's how I would like to think of it.
Lois admits this to Clark, but she also said that what they had was different. Clark never left her behind like A.C. or Oliver, he was constant in her life so she knew being in a relationship with Clark would be different.
