This could have ended very badly, a beautiful day almost ends in disaster Aghaviller Church and round tower, Kilkenny Ireland #ireland #history #cemetery
That gentleman who died 1 Jan 1901 at age 101... it sounds as if he was probably born sometime in 1799 (unless 1 Jan was his birthday). Imagine having that as your dates - 1799-1901! What a life he must have had!
Gosh, I hope that you didn't injure your foot too badly. I'm like you, always falling down. I don't think i would have attempted those stairs!! I really enjoyed the video, what a gorgeous place!
Aarrrrrrghhhhhh, vertigo kicked in immediately, I’d have been ok going up but would have had to shuffle down the steps on my bum. Hats off to you both for never being boring!
That was a very beautiful tour inside that ancient church. Such lovely views of the countryside as well. Thank you for your hard work and respect for those who have passed on. I was on the edge of my seat watching you going down those steep stone steps. Thank God you didn't get injured. You and GV do great work together. Please be careful in all your tours. God bless from Oklahoma U.S.
What an adventure! Can you imagine trying to maneuver those stairs with 13th, 14th, etc clothing?...carrying candles, food, drink, etc...?..yikes! You both did a great job! Kudos to you both! It's always so much fun to go on your adventures with you! ❤
Kudos to you Ms. Sue, for climbing those narrow steep stairs!!! You are braver than I. I'm with GV. I don't care for heights 😅😅. Great video and lovely location ❤❤ Thank you!!
Hi bonny lass, thank you for sharing your adventures. I hadn't realised you were into break dancing coming down those steps. I do hope your wee plates are doing canny!! 😁xx
Wow that was beautiful very historic church and headstones there I could not stop laughin Sue when you said "the shitter" !!! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣so funny!. I hope your foot is ok?.Thank you so much very enjoyable 👏👏💕💕
So glad you didn't have to "take one for the team". Does kinda show how dangerous some old places can be. Thanks for another great video. And hi to GV!
Killing myself with laughter. "Is that the sh*tter?" "No it cant be, straight above the altar?" "If it was the toilet, it'd drop straight on the priests head" Great video guys and what a beautiful place. Hope your legs feeling a little better Sue, you take your time now!! 👍
This was an Irish gem. Just sitting there waiting to be plucked out of obscurity! Loved that you were able to go up those stairs and shimmy around those curves! What a magical place! That is until you almost broke your ankle! Please be careful! I really loved the whole place. Thank you so much Sue! ♥️☘️
Fabulous weather, Fabulous narrative and visit! What an amazing structure, both. The box church looks like a keep. The buttress built on each corner will keep that standing for a long while. What a nice place. Thanks much.❤
Absolutely amazing church & tower. I'm continually amazed by the age of the structures. The US is so much younger than Ireland we have nothing like these ruins. Sue I cannot walk & chew gum at the same time if there's anything I can drop trip over fall over I will find it. I am worried about your ankle. I did something similar & wound up with foot & ankle surgery Nothing broken but ligaments stretched too far & all the bones slipped out of place. Major surgery 8 weeks in a cast at first no one realized what had happened & by the time they did it was too late I hope your foot heals soon. Those stairs were so scary. I was having heart palpitations just watching you. Great video. Be careful & safe travels ❤
My foot is actually find but my upper legs hurts, like a pulled muscle. You poor thing but I swear that phrase, walking and chewing gum got me laughing
Your fall could have been so much worse.i am so very glad you were not seriously hurt. Well it is a great video so guess it was worth it ????? Quite a beautiful building..and graveyard.
Wow, Sue. The church is amazing. Thank you for taking a chance on those stairs. The view is unbelievable. Take care, Sue, looking forward to your next video. God bless.
Dear Lord Sue, Take it easy !!! Lol I am glad you are ok. I wrote my comment right before you fell. I am glad you are ok. I've heard our cells hold the memories of our ancestors. I am starting to believe it's true. That or re-incarnation is real. There were certain places in the church & atop that felt familiar to me. Seriously, it was like a faded, but most assured flash of a time in my memory that I can't place. Like I have been there & spent time there. lol Maybe I am starting to lose it in my years lol but this place felt like a place I had been. A Deja-vu kinda thing but more intense. Of course I love this video & I appreciate you filming for us. I swear you take some awesome footage I pause & just get lost in the views. Thank you Sue & GV.
Reincarnation doesn't make any sense but inserting memories does! Funny. I was JUST talking to my mom about this yesterday. We inherit so much from our parents and grandparents, why not memories? I remember when I as 5 years old having a dream about a scene from the 1800s and there were wagons in the street and I passed by women in detailed dresses. We never had TV so I don't know where that could have come from. All my books were cartoons
Thanks for the fantastic video, Sue! I'm so glad you survived that staircase! Absolutely beautiful architecture in Ireland! Those stone makers were true artists! All the best from 🌞 New Jersey! ✌️😎☘️🍀☘️🍀
What a fantastic video Sue, even by your standards, thank you. The piece on the inside of the round tower was wonderful. And a beautiful old church. David
Feckin hell Sue you have me as stressed as I ducks egg coming from a constipated duck here and to finish with the fall... Phew 😂😂 to much for me poor health. Anyway fantastic buildings and history. I hope you have a bag of ice on that ankle or peas. Great job guys
Thanks for another great video, we just saw your older video on “Paranormal Caught On Tape” it was great seeing someone on there that I trust & respect. My wife & I never miss your videos.
Oh Sue, I really laughed out loud when you were upstairs in the church and questioned whether one of the holes in the ground was the shitter..... And also GV's reply to you. Another great video. Thank you for giving me the chance of seeing such a beautiful church and graveyard.
I just found your channel. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for showing me this beautiful church and its graveyard. I subscribed. I hope your foot is feeling better. Blessings to you both from Minnesota, USA. 😊
😂 Oh sue you me together would be crazy, i went to visit a castle with my daughter, i fell up the stairs and down some stairs, then i went into a room there didn't see the step and flew across the room im so clumsy, hope your ok take care both ❤
@@SerenitySueGraveyards its a pain when i went across this room in castle my daughter said good god mum what are you doing, this lady was looking at me gobsmacked 😂

Unbelievable ruins Sue, I'm glad you went up the stairs! What a view!❤ Don't stop doing everything you do sue, I'd be shattered if you stopped, i come from kavanagh clan, but in New Zealand. All the absolutely amazing graveyards that I never would have seen... GV is awesome too! Love n light to you both 🎉❤
I guess all Suzanne's are graceful!! 😂😂❤ Glad you are OK. The images from the roof was AMAZING ! Are you married to each other ? You reminded me my my husband. We had a fun banter. I miss him everyday. It's been 14 years now. We were married 28 years. He passed at 56. I was 49. The love of my life. ❤💔
You got a subscription from me just because this wound up on my feed! What a trooper! Thank you for your wonderful video and I'm very glad you got out of that without worse injuries! People who go the extra mile to highlight historical sites like this deserve all the support we can give.
Absolutely beautiful find! Wow! I would love to someday come to Ireland 🇮🇪 and see some of these old graveyards/churches! I hope you did not get hurt too seriously Sue! Yikes those stairs! Hope you are feeling better, and glad GV was there with you! Take care & God bless! 🇨🇦♥️🇮🇪
Beautiful! And beautifully done! Eccept that step i hope you are ok! That's very dangerous! Alot of very old ages in that cemetary! I'm suprised there were no cautions inside what a calm & beautiful place!
Hi I just found your video. Watched it and a couple more . This was a fantastic video . I love old cemeteries and old buildings. I live in Hamilton Ontario Canada. I have liked and subscribed to your channel. Thanks again.
What a fantastic find. Lovely building & grave yard & both well kept. I couldn't look when you came downstairs as l don't do heights (even watching on a screen) l felt your pain lol. Love & best wishes xx
May God bless you too, Sue. That was a wonderful visit. I don't know if I'd have made it down those stairs, but I'm glad you went up them for that beautiful view of that charming cemetery.
Hi Serrenity Sue . I love the back stories of your videos of where you visit to look at graves. I wish more countries preserved their past relics like Ireland does. Be safe and keep up the good work . Jean Crosby Nashville TN USA
Such a Beautiful place with amazing history !! Becareful Sue and GV. I'm scared of heights too... coming down stairs is a nightmare for me with my knee hurting ...that would be so me Sue. Sending lots of Love across the big pond, Tracy
Glad you're OK, Sue. I'm not a fan of heights either, and I'm tall. Lol As always, fantastic video. Such amazing places you take us. Just wish we had places like that here in the States.
Sue, GV, you both have shown us some wonderful places and this is definitely one of them. I didn't find the old church creepy, I actually found it calming. The thought of the celebrations that must have been held there and now it still stands to remind everyone of its past life. The stones, those ages, I'll personally never make it to anywhere close to them. It had me wondering just how did they manage it? That gent making it to 101, born in 1800 and passing in 1901; can you imagine the changes, the history he must have witnessed. Thank you both for such a great video.
Fantastic video thanks. You are made of tuff stuff, I would never had taken on those stairs. A very beautiful church and graveyard. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
I love the church and seeing the folks that lived to be over 100 😮 so amazing, I’d hope to live a long life such as they did. I’m also glad you didn’t get hurt sue and regardless the video was great as always, even tho it wasn’t the intended place. ❤
I just about lost my stomach when you got to the top of those stairs and overlooked the grounds below. I probably would’ve climbed them myself! Luckily you didn’t break anything in your fall. Like a trooper you continued on with the video. Thank you Sue and GV! Two thumbs up 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thank you for risking life and limb, Sue!😁Good Heavens, you have more courage than me! As much as I love to explore such things, I don’t think I would have had the nerve to go up those stairs!😳I’m so glad you didn’t get injured! Such a beautiful church and graveyard!🥰
I'm so glad your OK Sue , I would not be brave enough to go up those stairs so kudos for doing it , great old cemetery can't believe those people 101 and 103 so rare to live that long enjoyed watching ❤
Hi Sue! Great video! Thank you! I love the ability to get to the second floor, as you can see the entire structure remaining. But at the back of the church where the flowers were on the floor, that would have been similar but lower, to the remaining church. I wonder if the priest and help lived in the upper floors? Which would account for the large kitchen fireplace upstairs. Please be very careful in those old stone buildings Sue! You can easily get a twisted ankle on loose stones. We love your work!
What a lovely surprise graveyard you ended up visiting! You’re braver than I, tackling those huge steps, but the upstairs area was fascinating! Hope your foot was OK after that last step back down. I recently took a tumble in a church parking lot. Put out my arm to break my fall and ended up breaking my arm instead! 🙄😁 I also love the round towers throughout Ireland. We saw the amazing one at Glendalough years ago. They’re just stunning. And the history behind them is fascinating. Thanks for another great adventure! 😊
Hi Sue and GV that was brilliant. You had me totally in awe with the tower and church. If those walls could talk. I was totally wrapped up in the history and beauty of it all.....and then ahhh😂 the sh*tter conversation.😂😂. Even your foot mishap you turned into a comical event😂. You are so funny together. Thank you so much.I do hope that your poor little foot has recovered.😊❤
Oh Belinda 😅 what a day. First, the video we planned to do was closed, and then the fall but yes, laughter is the best medicine. My foot is great but I pulled a muscle in my leg..little sore but we keep going
Beautiful place to visit+how peaceful too!!! So lucky you didn’t hurt yourself falling down those last couple of steps, you could’ve really come a cropper if you’d fallen higher up, lucky you had your man in shining armer there to catch you!!! Keep well to you both+hope your ankle settles down soon!!! Looking forward to your next adventure…hopefully there won’t be any narrow stairs for you my dear!!! Take care Sue!!! X🙃❤️
What a magnificent find. Sue you be careful climbing those stairs.what an amazing view from the top. Makes me dizzy for sure. Beautiful find my lovelies
Whew! I'm relieved you're okay! I was becoming dizzy looking out through those windows at that ground FAR, FAR below. That open area near the "stairway" gave me the willies... What an unusual design for a church. As you say, it was modified a century or so after it was built. That may explain why it looks the way it does. I was VERY impressed with that head stone with the momento mori on it. That was BEAUTIFULLY crafted, wasn't it? What a blessed area of Ireland that it would hold the remains of so many long-lived people! What gorgeous lives they lived; they got to SEE so MUCH! Mahalo for another...hair-raising video, Sue! Aloha!
Amazing to see structures from the 13th/12th century in such good kept condition and the 2 souls that lived to 101 and 92 in there time was a great age for then...ty sue this was amazing, stay safe...may I suggest a walking pole with the rubber tip for when you venture stone staircases and such 😂 you made my heart jump too on the way down..ty again👌
It is a situation we all face, climb it or regret not doing it when you had the chance. Well you went up, enjoyed the view with a unhappy landing. Return in a few years and it is blocked off, bet your glad you took the chance, tomorrow might be too late. Another great video with you taking the rough with the smooth.and coming out smiling.
❤❤ Thank goodness you didn't get hurt badly... Please #Please be careful... Im so glad you were not by yourself.... I so look forward to watching your videos but I sure want you to be safe..
Very glad to see you made it (relatively) safely down the stairs. Hope your ankle is recovered now. You were lucky. When you said "there are some very long lived people in this graveyard" I thought "yes, because they didn't climb those stairs!". Your video was charming - the kind of exploration I enjoy, but I can do it as an armchair traveller via your videos.
