Hey Danny.🖐 Some spicy moments indeed. I was slidin' around in my seat just watching. Like some of the others have mentioned, love the rear view camera. Great action all around. I'm really stoked for you on the outcome, Dan!👏👏👏 Damn proud to see all your efforts paying dividends on track and I look forward to hearing what you have to say about it in the next one.👍 Have a good evening, dude.
That gran turismo starting music brought back many a memory of doing the driving tests on it over and over again. Congrats on the P2, must all have been the suspension setup getting in your way 😜that start looked hectic but definitely looked like the reason why you’d get into this type of track day in the first place 👌🏻
oh my god this is quite honestly one of my favourite cockpit driving videos on youtube , everything is layed out so neatly and placed like its a video game
This was more BDC than 750MC in some places. The right hander before the straight leading to the final chicane looked lethal. Amazing work mate, fair play.
@T D Honestly I had them on my yaris. Although not a heavy car they were great! (The old ones). Was ment as a joke because everyone says there no good in the rain haha. I liked them though
As some others have already said, rather than trying to find the apex. the Yellow car was using the karting line through most corners. When it was very wet Schumacher used the kart line line to great effect. Great video, great driving and love the two camera set up.
Love the Playstaion style video :D The guy in the aw11 had a cracking race and seemed to have excelent traction and balance. Tricky conditions for sure. You seemed to lose from traction as the race went on. Aw11 guy was fast from the last corner to turn 4. He was wide entry lines everywhere. Really good watch that!
Pwoah! that near crash into that SW was hairy wasn't it? like seeing the live stats on videos like this too. The rear view was a nice touch also, could see how close them Audi drivers were to rearing you. Nice bit of driving there Dan! RU-vid seems to have fixed its notifications.. For now..
Absolutely awesome footage as usual. Seems like you need a little bit more of whatever grip the yellow mk1 was finding behind you! You were flying but I wonder what that extra grip would have done.
Awesome, enjoyed that (although the start always seem an easy way for your time and effort to hit a brick wall within seconds of commencing racing. Was that performance delivered on the back of the worn tyres featured in your last video?....just wow if so! Ps I called a potential podium Dan 🙋🏼♂️😉, so pleased for you that the hard work and perseverance with the car has paid off. Up against other racers (not trackday drivers but people who have gone beyond that and fancy their chances!!!) in your rookie year it’s an incredible effort. Thanks for taking the time to share your journey.👏🏼
Gutted we weren't allowed in to this one. Cool to see the AW11's out there still, I know a lot are hiding away still, hoping to get my own out there next year
@@dannyDC2 bought one from the old mk1 series that hasnt ran since Rockingham 2014. Got it running but shit keeps breaking on it. Aiming for A grid, just not sure which😂
im probably incorrect but do yo usually run those cornering lines in the dry (other factor that plays a role such as tires) but it seems that aw11 was taking a wider line which is usually whats whats recommended for such conditions, but i gotta say you handled this race like a boss it was very impressive and suspenseful watching this bravo.
Oncoming traffic on a race track, Squeeky bum time. Maybe new tyres, higher pressures and disconnecting the anti roll bars might have helped with traction. Good work Dan 👍
Pack had spread out nicely towards the end, looked fucking lairy at the beginning with the rain and visibility. Gran Turismo countdown is ALWAYS quality. Good racing Dan.
Oh and big yes on banging the limiter on the last bit to the finish line. Almost as good as grabbing the handbrake and going for a big spin into the barriers Forza style 😂
Shocking conditions met head on with cat like reactions and BALLSEY driving!!! Well done Boyyyeeee 😝 More vids covering the life of Dan to cheer us up please mate 👍 Keep safe fella
Is this racing, or drifting? Hard to tell 😂 Great driving though dude. Some sketchy conditions. I've raced in similar there on bikes and it's definitely... interesting
Im no expert, but from experience a wider line has a lot more grip in the wet. Looks in the vid like you were exploring that towards the end? Think of the standard racing line as the slippy rubber line and kinda weave/thread through it, if that makes sense?
Awesome skills u have Dan. Sending greeting and subscribtion from Poland. What I can see top 10-15 drivers in MR2 championship are really skilled drivers definetily. Imo that yellow aw11 and actually most of your opponents drive more smooth during rain (im watching Bubarowe channel long Time for example). That steering wheel you use arent it too small? It looks like 320mm or kind of. And second thing - when you cornering you have around 20-30% throttle and then in one moment 100% when exiting. I'm definetily worst driver than you but I think those 2 things may be changed to improve lapping. More smooth with gas when exiting and maybe that steering wheel is too small to be more smooth.
Dan are you using anything apart from the phone for your racechrono pro setup? GPS or odb for example, if so could you let me know what, I used it for the first time recently and was struggling with GPS and couldn't work out how to add throttle. Great work by the way!
Please tell me that white/black car off on the right at the end was "rogue" from the beginning. I was resisting the urge to yell for you to push him into the curbing ;)
@@dannyDC2 I've only driven with the UK gearing, have a JDM box waiting for me to have the time to swap the diffs over though following your video on it, saving the hassle of shimming etc
Got home from work just in time👌🏼 First thought..... can you make the rear cam a mirror image. Kept thinking someone was gonna stick one up the inside and it’s actually the outside 🤪
@@dannyDC2 Fair do’s, I was just after the full Gran Turismo IRL experience. Great driving btw brakes seemed a bit 💩 or maybe you was dealing with locking.
@T D indeed, and it's something I'm grateful for. Keeps everyone level (to a certain degree) I have done quite a few miles on these tyres already. I should have replaced the rears before the race but it could have been worse
@T D Yeah agreed. I think I am at about 25 or 30. Sometimes trackdays can be double bad, if you go out get warm then get a red flag... but yes, will try to have some nice ones for racing on next year.
