Sound quality, the volume level they can reach (110db would be great), advanced EQ in the app, battery life and finally all the rest of the unnecessary gadgets. In exactly that order
ANC is not important for me on unless I'm on a plane. I like a good transparency mode for work situations but I use in ears at the office. These look cool as hell but I got real lucky on a pair of open back Sony xm5s (115 usd!) so I don't really need another pair of wireless. I love to see the innovation and collaboration between brands though....
Great headphone! Excellent sound clarity in the mid and upper region. Bass could be better though, but I have EQ'ed the bass just a tiny bit on my phone, since this is not possible in the app: The app is really lackluster with only 3 preset EQ's and no fine adjustments possible. Everyone's outer ears are different, thus also which frequencies they pick up better. I prefer the 'Hifi' setting in combo with my phone EQ'ed bass. And I as well don't miss any ANC, the passive noise damping does it for me. Btw, I got it on sale for 190 USD, a clear steal for this performance 😁👍🏻
Thanks for the review. It's a nice looking headphone and interesting with that Audeze tech but the lack of ANC is a strange miss at the price considering the price.
Huh, never heard of this brand before. How do these compare to Sony's WH-1000XM5? I recently got that one. I'm not really a fan of the head band, liked the one from the 3rd and 4th generation better. ANC is also an absolute hard requirement for me. I live in a very noisy environment. So this one specifically will not be relevant for me, but I'll keep watching for the next generation iteration. I also don't really like the garish designs, I like to keep it simple, elegant. No big shiny logos please, I'm not a walking billboard.
How are they compared to the Hifiman He400se ?? I am interested in buying them these edifier Stax S3 to replace my Hifiman He400SE but I'm not sure. I really liked the video
Its a lot more revealing than the hifiman 400se. The bass is snappier on the 400se, and has a bit more width to its soundstage. Spirit S3 is a bit closer to you but giving you a bit more clarity and openess to its sound on the upper frequencies. I personally feel it's a step above due to its overall features, and the fact you can carry this around but sound profile its different rather being an upgrade
so happy to find an Australia based audio reviewer on RU-vid. I was so lucky to be a one of the three draw winner that minidisc organised during Melbourne Hi-fi show to win this headphone. As a wireless and closed-back headphone, they sound really good, however, I would still pick the Focal bathys if I was going to buy this kind of product. Great review man.
Thanks for watching and good to find another fellow audio enthusiast from OZ :) Nice win! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I've been meaning to pull the trigger on the Bathys.... hard to justify when you've got other great options as well
I've had these for well over a year and love them. Only thing you didn't mention is how much they creak, at least mine did. For $400 that was really my only gripe. And it's a big one. ar.
