This is the only apartment that is technically a roommate situation that I would actually consider renting. Because if you have the studio side, you can close that door that is between the two sides and never really have to interact with your roommates. You literally have your own apartment for only 1,216 if you're splitting the whole apartment three ways. It's hard to find a studio in NY for under 1500.

Tbh this would be perfect for a couple (in the 2 bed) and either a sibling of one of them or a close friend in the studio. Everyone has their space but also has the convenience of being close without intruding

The landlord can install a firewall in place of the connecting door to seperate the two Apts. Saw a neighbor had to do it to create a legal seperate apt for her daughter. A pantry next to the bathroom is called a linen closet, Mr Realtor!

Looks like it used to be a single apartment for a Jewish Orthodox family where two kitchens would’ve been needed. I went with a friend and her realtor to look at homes where there were many Jewish Orthodox families. The houses had two kitchens. Dominick with another unique place, for sure!

I'm looking to find a house (or I should say my Son is) with a mil suite; I'm going to be 63 and have myriad health issues. It's time for me to move back to my hometown where my Son now lives. It's a 5 hour drive for me and my Son is a workaholic so I don't see him too often. I really like this place. It's unique for sure.

Same for us when comes to looking for house to buy with mother-in-law suite or detached apartment for our adult son too! We want our son to be more independent from us yet mindful of his financial situation with expectation of him paying for his own utility bills and internet without him paying us rent and we will help with his meals at times since I do make huge meals with slow cooker meals , pasta dishes , pizzas , casseroles , soups , chowders , stir fry with rice and chili. LOL , he loves leftovers since he doesn't have to cook himself for few days.

I’d rather have a fridge that opens into the kitchen. The way you said was correct, it opens out of the kitchen- it’s ok if you do not cook.. But, if you cook- it is much better to have it open in so that you can get stuff out without the door in the way.

This is definitely a unique apartment which has great potential at a pretty amazing price! A couple would do well in the 2 bed - great kitchen (missing a microwave), a good bathroom, and decent sized rooms. The studio side is above average and, if three people live in both spaces, the rent would be extremely affordable. Good one!

Now this apartment or apartments is actually worth the money the 2 bedroom should pay a little more it has a way nicer kitchen and two solid bedrooms plus living room and the studio could easily be a one bedroom with the fake walls they have now to put up or just a simple partition and it should be split 1600 for the studio/1 bedroom and 2065 for the two bedroom imo. So worth it for both parties! Best value you’ve shown in a min!

Who dropped a couple tabs of acid b4 they painted those hallways? Dominick definitely has the most unique places. I don't know that neighborhood so no clue which train that is (maybe the J?). It's actually not a bad apartment even tho there's no sink sprayers lol. The room sizes are really good. If a family rented it & did a lot of entertaining those 2 kitchens would really come in handy. It's quirky for sure

It's odd that they won't rent these two apartments separately, since all they need is a firewall. I'd live in the studio and collect the rent for the two bedroom, which could almost pay for the whole works. Both units have plenty of space and good kitchens. The train noise would take some getting used to, but this seems to be a genuine bargain!

Very unique living situation with tons of options! Possibly a corporate couple that have 1-2 kids and needs a nanny or mother in law living situation. Parents go off to work and the family member or nanny is right there. Or a single or couple that has an aging parent to watch after. Endless possibilities! Nice price point. 😊

My son and four of his friends rented half of a quadplex. Zoning only allowed Duplexes. So, they had two kitchens, two laundry rooms, two living rooms, 5 bedrooms, and 4 Bathrooms.

I still find it kinda crazy that studio apartments are priced the way they are in New York. Over where I live, studio apartments are more for like college students working part-time or single young people who are trying to get away from their parents. Thus, they don’t cost too much.

I'd rent this in a minute with 1 other person and use that studio side as a home office where you could have an occasional client over and meetings. Also cuz of kitchen you could have parties over there too and people could stay there when they come over. Holy shit run-on sentences

Nice dwelling! However: the studio part of the apartment could lose the galley kitchen/common area and replace it with 1 extra bedroom plus an official type office/den--2 areas added; keep the full bath though. 🤔

I love this one! As much as I would never want to have a roommate ever again, this would be cool to have one roommate and use the studio as a studio. That would be an artist or crafter's dream because it would be a sizeable, dedicated art space with lots of natural light and a sink. Plus, each roomie could still have their own bathroom. Again, Cash, you make me want to live in NYC without actually living in NYC. LOL!

Well that is an interesting setup! So they combined the electrical or is there 2 bills? I think the smart split is the person with the "small room" pays the least and the other 2 split the rest. Definitely a bargain for NYC!

The 1st place you could put a single bed and dresser or table in the 7 ft hallway, put some couch sized cushions on the bed and couch slipcover if you want to cover it. Turn the bedroom into a living room, couch (maybe fold out), desk, dresser, entertainment.

Luvin all the quirky Brooklyn options. I would prob live there. More affordable. Sucks if u have to go into The City. A whole day of traveling. Guess depends where you work, if have family, how many if any roomates u need/have, ECT.
