The change in weather at spring time can offer motivation to declutter some clothes and get your closet and wardrobe ready for Spring! In this video, I declutter 15 items: shorts, shirts, pajamas, and dresses.
Decluttering clothes with body acceptance requires that we accept clothes may not fit parts of our bodies like we would like, that we are not the sizes we want to be, and that certain fabrics are just not body friendly for us.

I love how you evaluate clothing, Erica. No matter what we look like, and we all look different, we should be comfortable in our clothing. Clothing shouldn’t cling in all the wrong places, it should scratch or itch, it shouldn’t hang unevenly or catch, it shouldn’t pill and fastening shouldn’t come undone. Also, clothing should only be kept in our closets and wardrobes if it fits our current shape and weight. If our clothing does any of the things we don’t like or doesn’t fit us in our current time of life, then it’s time for it to leave our house, donating or gifting to others where we can. We deserve to love and respect ourselves enough that what we wear reflects who we are and make us feel comfortable and fabulous.

I made myself a promise, no more buying CLOTHING on line, they never fit me, and it means returning… and I noticed 3 out of 5 I end up not liking or I keep it and don’t wear it, I have tried thread up twice with no luck, the clothes I buy in the store I never have this problem. I am down to a 33 or there about piece wardrobe , and loving it, mix and match with a lot of neutrals, I will never go back

I do this as well, it’s to much work to return clothes all the time. I’d rather spend some time in a store trying clothes on.

@@catharinab8860 exactly, and since I have a small wardrobe, I don’t mind investing and buying better quality, I am also tired of buying clothes and they pill after a few washings…less but better quality from now on

I've never bought clothes online for that reason. Only trainers in the past because of big discounts, but not anymore. The only thing I do buy online is underwear from one specific brand, I bought some in the pandemic and I found the size fit me really well so now it's easier to rebuy when needed. For everything else always try it on first!

Favourites are always in the laundry because they are the first to be worn👍. I don’t buy dresses online anymore because I really need to try them on. They look so nice on the model, but not on me. It is also such a pain to return. ❤😉

I've struggled with the clothing declutter. Finally, I'm determined to allow items that fit and that I'm not just "settling for" into my closet. Last year, I bought a long denim skirt, something I've wanted for so long...one of the best investments I've ever made! Then, black Levi's. I'm determined to have a wardrobe I love because of fit and versatility. You've been a big help. Thank you!

I was holding on to some long-sleeved tops that I wear when I'm cleaning. They were beginning to look ratty, and I thought I deserved to wear things without holes and stains, lol. Comfort is definitely king in determining a worthy item of clothing! Take care, Linda 🦋

Thanks for the comment that I deserve to feel good in my clothes, I have many hand me downs that I’ve been reluctant to get rid of and I really don’t know why. I’m going to more aggressive at getting rid of as I transition to spring and summer. Thanks

I have found that I cannot buy clothes online. I have to try them on. I've learned to save a lot of money that way. Also I mostly just shop at thrift stores and I'm able to find good quality brand name even designer stuff.

I recently got out of the thick of postpartum after 1.5 years and realised I have way too many clothes. Pretty much 98% of my clothes are brand new and I never got around to wearing them. I didn’t realise I would actually be able to reverse all my pregnancy weight gain and also I relocated from a tropical country in Asia to nyc where there are multiple seasons, something I haven’t experienced in a long time. I was going through an identity crisis and that manifested into a totally new wardrobe I couldn’t relate to. My goal is to gradually declutter over this year.

I have cut the overly processed and synthetic fibers too. Basic natural fibers feel so much better on the skin.

Since you Love the white capris, I recommend buying another pair. A duplicate of a loved staple will save you time and thought now and in future. I respect your clothes reality so much. You are incredible.

Have you tried wearing a light over "jacket" or open sweater to go over these shirts or dresses that you don't love the sleeves or how the clothes lay on your body? I love adding a light layer to cover the areas that I don't like or feel comfortable showing.

So I was not doing well when the return time window to Ross was coming to an end, and hearing you talk about bras for the one dress hit home. The one I wish I had been able to return is snug and revealing (was purchased for my birthday to go out in, which didn't happen), and it needs a strapless bra. We'll see what happens when I get one off of Amazon! 😂 Tip: I saw that the strapless Victoria's Secret bras are much cheaper when purchased off of Amazon. Hope this helps someone!

Since you talked about colour palettes, you could give the "Kibbe types" a try. It seems a little intimidating at first but after I typed myself, it helped with shapes and styles that suit me. Not to push me in a box but to help me not mistake buy things anymore. :)

I decluttered my socks and underwear drawers, then the weather here in PA turned cool again, so the shirts and pants/capris are still not tackled. You are giving me inspiration to just do it! I bought 4 tops from Amazon that are too big, I will be returning them. The info said they were imported, so I sized up, they are so big, I’m not sure if I should actually order a size smaller than my usual. I also bought a few things at Sam’s Club, but haven’t tried them on yet. I’ve had a fairly minimal wardrobe but I also have not shopped in about 4 years and things are showing wear. Shopping on line and at Sam’s where I can’t try things on is proving to be disappointing. Then there is the fantasy self issue, I forget that I’m not 35, and don’t look like the models in the pictures. At 77, 5’ tall and 150 lbs, it’s not quite the same! It’s rainy and cold here and motivation is at a premium, your video😊 is giving me the inspiration to get over the disappointing on line shopping and move on. Maybe I’ll just declutter and keep the old things!

I think the buying without being able to try them on and feel the fabric is the problem more than them being second hand.( After all, they were new at one time too!😅) I get fantastic things at thrift shops and consignment stores where I can try them on and then at garage sales where I can’t,I have usually only spent fifty cents or a dollar so I can easily resell them for that at my own garage sale or afford to donate.

I hate to buy online for bad fit, material or fabric. Almost everything I have bought online I won’t wear. Unfortunately it is coming to no other choice.
