►About the Game -
A thousand years ago it stopped raining, and all Earth's water evaporated into the clouds.
For over a hundred years people have been building towers to attempt to reach the clouds, so they can get the water they need to survive. And for over a hundred years they've failed. It's been a long time, but you're not done building yet.
Explore the last monuments of humanity, as one of the only people alive, while coming to terms with the bleak reality that lies ahead.
Created in one week for the 2020 Epic MegaJam, with the theme "It's been a long time, but we're not done yet".

This game was actually lovely. Kind of a shame there wasn't more to it, like you said, but for a game jam entry this was pretty solid. I loved the art style and the story, the setting was sort of eerie but also surprisingly pretty and well made.

the ambience and art style were fucking fantastic, I would LOVE to see a full game made of this at some point. Or even just the same creator making a new game with the same kind of relaxing art style.

I think there was a lesson there.. I felt like the rain was testing who was worthy .. cause as soon as he said that he would take a break that's when the rains decided it was time to come back.. loved the art style as well!

I agree with you. That could be a fun survival strategy game in a sort of "This War of Mine" style with deeply written characters and extra story.

Very beautiful game! Would have been nice for it to be longer - I'd love to see that if the developer decides to do so. As for the rain, I hope it will reach those who might still be on the ground, if there are people still down there. But since those people were the ones who were sending up the supplies, I would imagine there must be. Thank you for playing this!

With respect CJU I disagree. I think this works as is, meaning any more might actually ruin the overall experience. I would like a little more background and lore as well but in the end I felt this was a good length.

I'm going to write a long ass journal and give myself random names, like Rami the rambunctious racoon, for every journal entry. Then leave those all around town for people to piece together the puzzle. IDK what the puzzle will be, but I'm sure I could get a conspiracy going like that. Also I'm dead that the 2nd and 3rd (i think) page numbers were 69 & 420.

This game's premise reminds me a little of the anime Green Legend. An alien race came to Earth and took away most of the water leaving the world desolate and dry. Everyone lives in a near desperate state, for water is now given out in rations and the only ones with any great abundance of water are the Rodoists, a quasi-military group of fanatics who worship and serve the aliens as gods.

Oh, yeah. I was tense and on the verge of freaking out since all the stairways had no railings, there were no railings on many of the platforms, ... I kept reminding myself "It's just a game that I'm watching someone else play". Very very scary.

Nice short game mhm.. its like whats happening in reality. We strive to "go up" achieve our dreams/goals/stuffs we wished that we started becoming discontent and unappreciative on everything we get in a day. But if we stop racing and appreciate even the small things were getting everyday, u'll feel more content and happy. Anyways i just woke up so i dont know what im talking bout lol 😂

In the real world it would be literally impossible to reach the clouds, as you wouldn't know you're inside one - they'd always seem just out of reach. (until you got above them I suppose)

Sadly all of these people will die as the foundation on these towers are crap. The wind will blow just strong enough to topple these towers to the ground.
