Only thing I think that may have not been noted is that the 3.0 18650 makes particles in the air more reflective or brighter and I wonder what that would look like in heavy snow, fog or dusty conditions
Yeah, high candela light head really intensify air particles.. for sure. Warmer color temp light reduces that 'reflective' look the air particles have. REIN 3.0 does have a less-warm color temp then the 2.0.. at least it's appears so. Might just be the aftereffect of the 3.0 having 30k more candela vs the 2.0. (3.0 has 100,000 candela vs the 2.0's 71,000).
I've been pretty impressed with the CD REIN 3.0.. I also have the Modlite PLHv2 and OKW running on some rifle setups. My 'only' gripe with the Cloud Defensive lights.. you can't use anything from the Surefire ecosystem. You're basically tied down to using only CD with the REIN. Surefire, Modlite, Arisaka, Malkoff, Reptiia (more?) are all interchangeable.. for the most part. Besides the newer duel fuel, some light heads don't support 18650, and vice versa.. Rumor has it, CD is releasing light heads, bodies, switches, that will be compatible with the Surefire ecosystem. Hopefully this will be a thing in the future.. Still love my REIN 3.0 until then.
@@keelansarnecki Yes.. and no. I know, I bit confusing. REIN 3.0 is awesome. It probably has the best throw (candela) of most other good high-end WML's. Like I saw in my previous post.. if you don't mind being stuck with your REIN 3.0 as it comes, and you like the switch, get it. It's a great setup. If you want a complete light setup that has everything in one bundle, REIN is gtg. Modlite OKW on the other hand, you can use literally everything on the market that is compatible with the Surefire ecosystem. Switches, heads, tailcaps, bodies.. Just have to make sure you're using the proper batteries for the light head you are using. Easy enough.. Modlite is simply a better choice if you like options. Depending on how you build out the light, it'll be more expensive than the REIN complete setup. Whatever WML you go with, you're getting a good one.
@Magnus Red well, yes.. kinda. You have to buy the Cloud Defensive Legacy body, and then you can use Surefire Scout-compatible tail caps and switches. You still have to use a CD REIN light head with the Cloud Defensive Legacy body. Which is fine by me.. I love the REIN 3.0 light head. I'll definitely be getting the Legacy body when it releases. 🤟
So i have a rein 1 that I upgraded to the 2.0 head (which btw, CD threw in their updated switch and cap for free). LOVE the fill and the beam is still good for shooting 150-200 yards. I tried a 3 head and it’s just too much indoors. Even CD said if I want fill over distance, then stick with my 2.0.
Would be amazing if you're able to compare a rein 3, rein 3 micro and the sf turbo on both dual fuel options. Probs the first vid ever showcasing the highest candela lights out there.
great comparison! and i feel like even with 123a the 3.0 is compariable to 2.0 with rechargeables which is very impressive. Hopefully the runtime is on par. Do you thing there's still reason to go 2.0 except for the micro option?
