I've recently finished making my own fusion sword based on your tutorial. It took me roughly two months and I'm really happy with how it turned out. It was a great experience for me and I really wanted to thank you for your tutorial and providing the necessary steps in making the sword.

aye but the fusion sword would be a good episode as you have a lot of moving parts and getting all individual swords to connect to eachover, I'd imagine it would test their brains a bit. Would make one hell of an episode though

Burst Flare they actually sell them online. Not the best quality (meaning I wouldn't use them in any combat situation lol) but they are all metal, and break down into all the individual blades. If I can find it again I will post the link so you can check it out.

Burst Flare I found one on etsy. I cannot find the one I saw when the movie first came out. It was a Japanese blacksmith that documented the entire build that a customer requested. If you search google for it you may have some luck. Not sure if you just appreciate the craft, or are looking to obtain one. But you can find both with a little digging. Burst Flare apologies, I copied the wrong link..I was in a hurry because I probably shouldn't be using my time at work to look these things up..but it's Friday lol. Anyways, if you look hard enough you can find blacksmiths in the states that will build you one, and even some that are already built and available for purchase. Sorry again my man. I think weight is the deciding factor here. Kind of like they did Guts' pre-Dragonslayer sword, knowing full-well, everyone was requesting the Dragonslayer.

Full sized? Quite a pain. I somehow managed to make a small k'nex version of the sword with each of the blades able to lock into place.

MaskOfSethiroph Yeah. There was a decent amount you could do with K'nex than you could with Lego. I think you were able to make motorized vehicles with them at some point.

A couple of the K`nex sets I have allowed you to make motorized dinosaurs. I also have an old Lego motor set, but it doesn't allow as much freedom as the K`nex motors.

If you were going to use hockey tape on the handle, i really wish you would have used Red to better match the actual blade's handle, but all around this is pretty awesome. It's fun watching the build come together, cause it really looks off for a while then bam, it looks almost perfect by the end. Great job!

This was a beautiful prop job! I'm sure my avatar won't give you any kind of clue as to how much I adore FFVII: Advent Children =p but I've been such a nut over it ever since it was released. I've done a couple Cloud Strife cosplays, but the sword was always one of the hardest things for me, as it was actually my very first cosplay. I knew how to sew and make the costume, but knew nothing about how to do the weaponry. I'm excited to give it another try now with this inspiration and some really great ideas!

I actually made Buster sword 2 years ago with thermocol which turn out to be really nice and huge Then after watching this video I build this one too which was a pain in the ass but after it was done it's all worth it and top of that I build Frostmourne too and now I have three huge swords with no place in my room to store them.

Too make that bull whip design you could put a fish net stocking over the handle and spray it red. That would create the lateral crossing on the handle that you see in the movie.
