Hey it's Jesse with Lawn Life and I thought I'd give you a glimpse into my life a little bit instead of the regular how-to's. Let me know what you think in the comments! My main channel: / lawnlife Blackout Grass Seed: thelawnlife.com
Your channel was somehow on my feed. I was watching and you talked about the Twolves. I know exactly how u feel being a resident from MN myself. Must have been after the mass game. Sub earned lol
Totally agree Jesse this year has been so wet, irrigation has not been used at all. Major clover infestation this year I’ve sprayed twice and I thinks it’s finally at bay. Our son has season tickets so I was looking forward to an NBA Final game with him 😂
I've only used irrigation once this year I think. Crazy! As for the finals, what a buzz kill. Did you go to any of the games in the playoffs? I went to Denver game 3 at home...what a waste of money 😂. We cheered for maybe the first two mins of the game.
Just did full reno last september just couple weeks ago lawn did a 180 and looking awesome i did all kbg seed lawn has plenty of nitrogen i had a big clover problem any ideas as to why this is happening if lawn is not low in nitrogen ?
Hi, great fan to all your videos, I’m currently trying to get my lawn, looking like yours, but the problem I’m having is after applying speed zone I have dark brown spots where the weeds are dead. Can you tell me should I fill in the spots with fresh grass seeds, or will my grass grow back in that spot. And I currently live in Michigan and we are in the beginning of June.
Thanks for noticing it popping the last couple of weeks. I feel like it's finally coming around. I used speedzone and had decent results on the first app. I definitely needed two apps to kill all of the clover though
Love your videos! I live in the south metro of the TC. I applied a pre-emergent this spring that did pretty well. Also just finished spot spraying clover and some pesky dandelions today. Never ending battle! Lol
Jesse, you have a beautiful yard. I've watched many of your videos and you it appears as you use the correct ferts. So on other channels, people will say that clover is caused by lack of nitrogen. I would like to believe based on your videos that your lawn doesn't lack nitrogen. So what would be the reason for the clover? I'm fighing clover in AZ with bermuda but have not really kept up with ferts until now.
Honestly, it's like any other weed. It's going to pop up out of nowhere. People may say a lack of nitrogen because it's easier for weeds to invade a thin lawn. But mine is crazy dense and I still get weeds. Weeds are unavoidable. Just gotta take care of them sooner than later so they don't spread all over the place.
Jesse why is clover going crazy right now ? It’s all over the place. I’m in the transition zone and the weather here has been gloomy and no rain. It’ll drizzle a little but nothing heavy. Season after season it’s always something that’s what I love about Mother Nature. Loving the Vlogs ❤
My clover problem started last year. As annoying as problems are in the lawn, it's what makes it fun like you said. There was a point that I thought everything was perfect in my front lawn for a month a couple years ago and it was honestly boring. Embrace the challenges bro! Unless it's poa 😂
@@lawnlifevlogs I agree two summers ago my lawn was perfect these last summers have been a fun headache for me trying to figure out what the lawn likes and doesn’t like. I started logging this year everything I’ve been doing to see how it goes
What can be done about brown patch? I don’t believe that just sharpening my blades is enough. Our yard has a combination of sunny and shady areas and I’m adjusting watering constantly. Very frustrating!
I have the same B&D edger, and man that thing is a beast. Yeah the cord sucks, but it produces so much cleaner of an edge compared to using a string trimmer. Only downside is I end up swapping blades out multiple times throughout the season. They get dull so quickly…
Crazy, I've used mine for the last 3 years and haven't changed the blade once yet. It's definitely starting to wear down now though. I'll need a change soon
I've used Jet Dry as a cheap surfactant quite a bit. Seems to work great and the price is good. As for the sports I feel you, my Winnipeg Jets were one of the top teams in the NHL almost all season then completely collapsed in the first round of the playoffs. During the regular season we beat the Col. Avalance 3 times for a combined score of something like 17-4 including 6-0 the week before the playoffs. We won game 1 then got swept in 4 straight after, so promising to utter collapse
I'll have to look into Jet Dry. As for the Jets, there's nothing worse than feeling confident and having the rug pulled out from underneath you. You can definitely relate with no championships. It's brutal.
I got the idea of using Jet Dry from people that do gold panning, as a few use it to break the surface tension of the water because flour gold is actually hydrophobic and they use it to make the gold sink better.
@@lawnlifevlogs I just got my Revolution 26 this week. It's the first time I've ever mowed with a reel mower. My front lawn handled 5/8" with no scalping, but yeah the side yard at 3/4" seems to be the sweet spot for height and color.
3/4 is definitely the sweet spot! Crazy you didn't have scalping at 5/8ths. You must've been keeping it pretty low before that. How do you like the rev26?
@@lawnlifevlogs so far I love it! One knob height adjustment, fires up in 1 pull, Honda engine. I think I was a bit above 5/8ths. I changed to exactly 5/8th and lost tons of color and had some scalped areas. Planning to level it this fall for the first time. I want my lawn looking like yours. 🔥🚒🧑🚒
That clover is no joke. I’ve been battling it all season. Also consider yourself lucky and imagine being a Wizards fan. We’re at least another four years out just to be a play-in team.
I thought Sam Howell was the real deal for a few games.. obviously not. I like Daniels on tape. We'll see how he does in the league though. It's always a crap shoot
Damn Wolves. Ugh. Can’t watch the Twins on TV. The rain has been relentless, another 1.5” yesterday and they’re talking a possibility of 2 more tomorrow night. I’m sure you know this but I prefer baby shampoo as a cheap surfactant over dish soap. Less foaming too.
Thomas, don't get me started on the Bally's thing. Just got back from a camping vacation and wanted to do stuff in the lawn... Starts pouring as soon as I get back. Relentless. I'll try the baby shampoo next. It ended up raining after I put down the Triclopyr last week 🤦♂️
Cords please. Spend the money you are going to die and leave it for someone else to spend. If you don’t have it I see with you. Cords is a no no for me. I rather do without. Black and Decker it’s so handy after a days work I can use it weed whack late in the evening and not affect the neighbors
I hear you with dying and leaving it for someone else to spend. I think about that from time to time.. Looking at options currently for a cordless system
@@lawnlifevlogs , I really like the automatic feed for restringing on the Ego trimmer. I think rotary scissors are cool, but I'd prefer to invest in new products versus weed eater accessories. Your lawn is looking great! Thanks for the new video, Jesse.
