Decent day at clay pigeon for round 6 of the club 100 junior super lightweight:
Practice: P4
Quali:P2 (P6 overall)
Pre final: P6 ⬇️P9 (P12 on track)
Final: P9⬆️P6
Practice just getting back used to this track and adjusting my lines from the cadet karts.
Quali was my best part of the day for me. Great lap by me without any slipstream and managed to get P6 overall, and was only 0.16 off pole (could have got it with slipstream)
The pre final was rubbish.. Kart didn’t seem to have the same power as others around me and out of corners I would get a better exit and still be pulled away from.. Also mid way through the race made a move through the chicane fully up the inside, knew that the other driver was still there, gave all the room I could and they still punted me off the track, luckily managed to hold onto it and only lost that place back.P12 in the end, but P9 after all the penalties were applied, so not too bad…
The final was ok, made some good overtakes and made some positions, but lost a few due to leaving the door open too much somtimes…. But managed P6 in the end after all the penalties. Which now puts me P8 overall in the championship
Happy with my quali pace, just need to improve my race pace a bit more for next round at rye house…..
