@@riafraise I do not believe it is a sin. The sacraments are not bound by the priest's state of his soul. We did not know about this priest while he was celebrating the mass and administering the sacraments. We really never know with any priest. I will admit I was concerned at first if my sins had been forgiven in confession once I heard about him. But someone explained it to me.

Anyway in these recent times the holy seminarians have to hide that they’re devout…they’re not allowed to kneel for the Consecration and the Rosary is frowned upon….so they shut up, and put up so they can get ordained. There’s two physical parts to Maynooth ….the old building which houses the seminary part and across the road is one of our national universities NUIM. National University of Ireland Maynooth. Naturally along with what I outlined, the seminarians are taught rubbishy theology…there seems to be more emphasis on psychology than theology…and believe me psychology which the authorities would hold in high regard is fair rubbish, so can you imagine what kind of theology they’re being taught? The professors back in the 1980s….Fr Enda Mc Donagh supposedly teaching moral theology, etc were very liberal, he was a darling of our national broadcaster RTÉ ….anyway I don’t expect the theology has improved since 🙄🙄🙄🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

My pastor kept his door locked and drank scotch and smoke cigars. Got him through seminary. He also prominently displayed a photo of him with an old girlfriend…. It helped.

I have never met father Patrick, but I’ve heard that he’s quite good. I also understand he’s on leave from Saint Gall’s, at first I was concerned about that but I have friends who know him very well and they said he’s actually working in a diocese in Texas helping develop a Newman center. Perhaps he’s in Tyler Texas? I don’t really know.

Yes, it should be a precondition for a man to be celibate and have control of his appetites prior to training to be a priest. Forced celibacy is not the cause of sexual abuse. That is a LIE. The inability to control oneself is the cause of sexual abuse. It used to be a requirement that a man had to be practicing and living a chaste life before even being considered for joining the seminary. What allowed pedophiles and homosexuals into the priesthood was the relaxation of the requirements for those discerning the priesthood AND the fact that predators always flock towards positions of authority and power in order to abuse that position for their selfish motivations and appetites. Good priests are chaste men before they receive holy orders and remain chaste all their lives.

I have e-mailed him 2 more times, subsequently, and he has not replied. There is no FSSP or SSPX near me, so I need to move. I thought to contact the FSSP first. Either my 3 e-mails ended up in his SPAM folder, or he's just too busy with more important priorities to reply to me. Either way, it seems like a sign from Divine Providence to look elsewhere.
