I am really glad that they continued to include the ability to choose which ending option you want, that is a really great feature and very viewer-friendly to give the viewer their own choice.

@@Mjaybird Yeah I personally prefer the "combined" ending as well. It's a bit more jarring, sure, but I like getting to see all of them because they are all pretty funny

Exactly what I wanted to know! I agree with you that the soundtrack is a CRIME. The soundtrack was released on CD in stereo, for heaven's sake! Even if the original stems aren't available, it would be easy with today's technology to take apart the elements and construct a new surround mix. Imagine how much the storm sound effects would benefit, in addition to the music... and the ambience of some of the rooms might give a real sense of depth. I just don't know why the soundtrack on this one has been so neglected for so long... don't know why the original movie was in mono in the first place! Dolby Surround had been around since at least Star Wars in '77. What the heck!!

Thanks for the review. I love this movie! I'm anxiously awaiting this treasure of a film on 4K, but Amz has delayed my pre-ordered copy... It's supposed to arrive tomorrow, hopefully it does.

Please consider grading the extras in your reviews. As collectors, it can make all the difference. I picked up ‘The Monster Squad’ 4K almost for the extras alone. Cheers.

I really love this movie.. so glad that there is a 4K release…FYI..when this was originally released in theaters..you only got ONE ending.. so how the movie ended depended on where you saw the movie..

One of the few movies my kids actually asked to view again! I’m a movie guy - I had (2) kids who are ‘1-and-done’ with movies… Ugg. Looking forward to picking this up.

Classic. I need to grab the 4K. It’s weird in the US when they cut out holes in the sleeve for the barcode, just print it on the back lol.

Probably a shoplifting consideration. You could put sleeves for inexpensive discs over higher priced ones and buy at a reduced price

Apart from Ben Hur and Towering Inferno. (Both awesome) My 4 choices would be …. No country for old men…Gran Torino….Ryan’s Daughter and the greatest western ever made……Once upon a time in the West.

I'm a bit surprised the audio got no attention. I seem to recall some music that could have used an upgrade to 2.0 at least. I'll watch for this one to hit the sale rack

4K blu discs are always region free. It’s those pesky standard blu discs with all the bonus features that are often region locked. Which is annoying. Okay, so maybe not ALL 4Ks are region free. There have been reports of a handful of titles that were locked. Pretty rare.

@@Sentient_ZeeYes. So far, I’ve only ever heard of three discs that were region locked, and most people chalk that up to authoring errors. The UHD Alliance has agreed that all 4K UHD releases be region free, but any included blu-ray media be locked to the appropriate region. Even then, you can still find some sets where the blu is region free as well. I got the 4K box set of Casablanca from the UK and shipped to the US, and the blu ray bonus discs were also region free as WB chose not to lock them.
