Suggestion, loosen the flare nut, but don't remove at first. Minimize time line is open, dripping, and sucking air. Remove the mounting nuts, then back underhood, remove line then remove old mc. Next drop new mc into place, and hand tighten line into place, before going back under dash to install nuts and pin. Not only will this make less mess, less air to bleed, it'll also be easier to start flare nut threads when mc is free to move around.

Thanks to your videos, I was able to fix a ton on my car including the CMC and even the squeak and got my car back on the road after 2 years. Feels nice to drive the S2K again!! Your videos are amazing. I have barely any experience working on cars, but these videos makes even a first timer know what they're doing.

Beware, I did this job recently and getting the clutch hardline to screw into the clutch master cylinder was much more difficult then he makes it appear haha. If you can't get the inverted flare nut at the tip of the hardline to line the threads up right, you'll be spinning that nut for hours. What's the definition of insanity?... To make life easier, there's a retainer clip lower in the engine bay along the firewall that holds the clutch line. If you unclip the hardline it's easier to line up the threaded ends. I have an AP2. These videos are sick! Keep it up, you daaaa man.

Any experience with the LMC407? This seems quite a bit different from the Adler one shown in the video as the casting marks show 1 on the side instead of 2... not sure what they are supposed to represent from Nissin's side. Thanks for the '06+ section, will remember to do that!

Nice! Is the clutch slave cylinder available from an OEM as well?
@DIYGuysvideo
@DIYGuysvideo Год назад
Yep. Look for Nissin / Adler.

would it work to adjust the rod before install.....to match the length of the rod of the CMC being replaced. It took me forever to find the right spot of clutch bite point that worked for me when I had my CMC replaced. Or are measurements different with each CMC and it wouldn't work.
@DIYGuysvideo
@DIYGuysvideo 10 месяцев назад
I'd say measurements are probably different with each CMC, at least if they are not OEM.

Do you know the OEM maker for the brake master cylinder? my 95 Civic has aftermarket and I want to replace with OEM brand.

Do you happen to know the part number for the 12 mm nuts ? One of mine somehow got messed up when reinstalling and now won’t go in anymore

I have a brake stopper, that applies pressure to the cmc for it to not move. Will this apply too much pressure to it?? (I had it on my previous rsx, and decided to put one in the S aswell)

My OEM master cylinder started leaking again after around 80.000km, even tho I flushed it with new fluid every year ☹️
@DIYGuysvideo

Might just be a wear item :/
@LoveLikeaHurricane

i renew fluid in reservoir every oil change (so about x2 per year)

Does greasing the clevis pin help with clutch feel?
@DIYGuysvideo
@DIYGuysvideo Год назад
Possibly, but the purpose of the grease is to reduce wear since it’s metal on metal contact.

my clutch fluid is leaking. how can i be sure it's the master cylinder and not something else?
@DIYGuysvideo
@DIYGuysvideo Год назад
Look for leaks on the clutch master cylinder yoke underneath the dash. That is usually where it leaks from.
@conantheseptuagenarian3824
@conantheseptuagenarian3824 Год назад
@@DIYGuysvideo thank you. if it's not the master cylinder what's the next mostly likely cause?
@jacobmusha7188
@jacobmusha7188 Год назад
@@conantheseptuagenarian3824 it's either the master, the slave, or possibly a rubber line. The clutch hydraulics are pretty simple.
@DIYGuysvideo
@DIYGuysvideo Год назад
For what it’s worth, I’ve never seen a clutch slave cylinder leak. But yeah I agree with Jacob. It’s a fairly simple system so trace where the fluid flows and look for leaks.
