I Hit a pothole about 6 months back. Can that damage this CV Joint you are talking about? It's slowly started making a noise about a month later. Now I am going to replace it in a few days. Just wondering what kind of noise it would make... I know the Clunk clunk or clack clack when turning on a bad axle... but this noise is different
Looked like the cable broke up on the arm. The cables look like standard bike brake cables. I bet you could make your own with them if you get the length right and re use the end sstops.
Bolt that comes with the lines. You will break the bolt if you use OEM torque spec. Check with manufacturer for the right value but I think it’s close to 13-15 ft lbs.
I just completed this along with my clutch replacement thanks to your videos! It feels like a different car now and I'm loving it. Thank you for all the work you put into making these videos.
thanks for the review, I just ordered the universal sliders for my 24 Hours of Lemons Accord race car. I dont care about instructions as I just weld up all of the brackets and mounting myself. But the sliders themselves look like they are good quality from your review.
Mine went out like two weeks ago and I didn’t look at your videos and bought a new one. Smh luckily I found a brand new one on eBay for 300. But sadly still wasted more than the 75 bucks for the repair kit smh.
I'm on the hunt for a new exhaust after my Cleib 70mm single broke one of the hangers and tore a huge hole in the resonator after about 5 years. I've put maybe 20k miles on it, no track days, but tons of hard driving at the dragon. How is the S2k 24 years old and there's still no good exhaust solutions on the market? The Revel Medallion replica looks good, but it's only for 2000-2005 models. Has anyone tried LHT's Ti exhausts?
Tooling of the spool is insufficient as the key end of the cable doesn't lock in properly. Combine this with straight braided cables along with springs makes it practically impossible. I've even created a jig to lock both springs down and the cable is still the wrong length for the correct tension. I'll do my best to modify and make work.
Hey I have a problem. I took the starter out clean it and greased all the components. Now when I start the car up the car makes a weird super loud winding noise and it starts to smell. Any advice?
All good I took the starter out again checked everything and now it works. Before the starter engaged but didn’t go back. So the car was super super loud on startup. I really don’t want to do it again. I have a 2006 UK spec and there are so much more tubes and cables then in your video. I broke my knock sensor but I ordered the part. Luckily you have a video how to replace that too 😂
This is a general problem with ball joints that you can look up tips for. You’ll need to apply more pressure to the ball joint into the knuckle. That and make sure the threads on the ball joint are in good shape.
After 21 years my alternator finally died on my '03 s2k. I was going to buy an aftermarket rebuild until I saw your video. Now I'll repair the one that came with my car. Thanks for the video.
thank you for the video I just had this clutch kit installed on my ap1 currently breaking it in now and it feels very smooth. One question though did you use the throw out bearing provided in this kit?
Hey Jason, have you had any issues with your brakes afterwards? I am about to do mine and noticed you used Permatex Ceramic Extreme, however, I've read a few bad reports about the stuff. Would love your input and thanks for all the work you put in for the S2K community! ❤
Drop oil pan. Find fallen washer. Reinstall oil pan. Remove cams, reassemble timing chain/gear. Reassemble cams. Valve adjustment. Probably a good 3-4 hours work.
Is there anyone willing to let me borrow their device like he did in the video. Looks like this device is no longer available. I would even buy it from someone who doesn’t want theirs anymore
Hi, I love your channel, I'm looking to buy an 02 locally owned by an older gentlemen who takes very good care of it, but it has over 200k miles as a daily driver. What would you recommend to look out for on a vehicle like his, what should I expect to need to replace, and how much would be a fair price for a vehicle like it?
You can potentially ride the clutch, similar to slightly pressing the clutch pedal at all times. Meaning your friction disk will not be as tightly clamped to the flywheel and this can lead to premature wear of the friction disc.
Yes I did that and that’s exactly what happened. I loosened it again and the clutch no longer slips/disengages, but I feel the pedal get tighter as I use it and also noticed the fluid is getting dark rather quickly. (I changed the master and slave cylinders 2 weeks ago). Did I break the master cylinder by over tightening it?
This is one of my favorite S2000 RU-vid Channels. Your channel is a shining example of how you don't need fancy video editing and the actual content provided will always be king. There are a lot of annoying and useless car RU-vidr's out there with people that just want to be on camera rather than sharing something useful. I've been an S2000 owner for 18 years and love these cars dearly. Keep up the great work.
My S developed a sound during cold start with lots of vibration but goes away when vehicle warms up. Posted a video on s2ki and everyone told me to check the pulleys. Checked them and my tensioner pulley bearing is indeed bad but can that cause such vibrations and goes away when vehicle warms up?
