Cluttered to Clean - The Spare Room ... 

That picture that Taylor painted caught my eye the first thing when they showed the "messy" room. It is so nice -- I was hoping they would use it in the room.

Inspired by these two I took to my own "spare" room (aka bedroom!) and filled ONE BIG 96 GALLON GARBAGE BAG of clothes to get out of the house TODAY! Thanks Cas, Taylor and Lisa

Lovely - the ladies did a lovely job! I think there's such value to listening to people talk about the emotions they have tied up in their belongings - Lisa talking about how the toys were a symbol of who she had been and was and why that made it difficult to let the toys go (I liked your workaround, by the way) and it occurred to me on seeing the beautiful and welcoming room they created - that she's still that mother and grandmother - she still has a space and items for her grandkiddies to play with - and she's providing the experience of learning how to define and redefine who you are for her daughter and her other children and grandkids - she's providing the actual model of how important it is to be mindful of your life and to make sure you make yourself a place in your own life. I can't think of a more valuable lesson - you go ladies!

I looove the outcome and the word “quarantine” when it’s used as a synonym for putting away for a few months. Cas you’re amazing!!!

This was so great because it felt attainable! So many shows and "makeovers" are so out of reach for the average person. But this seems doable for anyone!! ALSO, can you update us on your weight loss surgery - how are you doing? are all the health issues "over"? do you still feel like it was the right choice for you (would love to know your take on it all for me personally)? I love watching your videos!!

At one time, I use to want to save all my grandkids toys & things . One day after looking at all the clutter I asked each one of the grandchildren separately, if they wanted to have anything from the room. Each one said No.. ( or picked up one or two things) When they were finished, I asked myself why do I have to be boggled down with it all if they didn’t care. I picked one small item ( for a special memory & donated the rest. I’m so happy now. Plus other children can benefit now.

It’s totally fine to admit being homesick as you help people with their own homes. And ladies, I did find it inspiring. It’s early Saturday and I’ve already organized something and started laundry.

loved the after! I can relate to the mom not wanting to let go of her kids stuff! I have so much stuff around the house that all 3 of my kids made! It is decor now, but I have paperwork from school that needs to be purged! why would I keep something like that when my kids have been out of school for one of 20 yrs now! anyway, good job! xoxo

I am so excited to watch the new season. I know it is hard to be away from home and family. I travel for my job too. I work in large chunks of time of go, go, go to get big projects done. You are made for this job, Cass! I’ve been following you for a few years now. You are in your element! Just be sure to schedule down time once the show is filmed. You need the time to just be in your home and recharge after this. This has helped me over the years to know that spending time away from the busy schedule is necessary to do a tremendously hard job like what you are doing reaching so many families and making a huge difference in the lives of others.

Great outcome. Sorry you’re stuck in New York! I’m a native New Yorker but moved away about 26 years ago. I would miss my dog too. I do miss NY sometimes, one of my son’s still live there so I can visit.

This inspired me to get my son (and me) to part with his toys - by using the pack-up method. Out of site, out of mind, and if it does come back to mind, we can retrieve it... after a period of time, we will donate or sell.

It's hard to let go of stuff....Right now I just made a face book yard sale page and am going through the attic with all the tote boxes and boxes...putting things on there...and what doesn't sell will be going to the mission! you have to let it go so you can clear up valuable space that you can use! I am a crafter and an artist too...my daughters room is full of art and sewing supplies......I use to be a cake baker...and done many over the years...but its time for me to let that stuff go!! So I am dealing with it all...I am hoping by the end of Summer...it will all be decluttered and cleared out of my house!! :D Less is More!!!

just came in from painting a portion of the garage. we are doing it a portion at a time because my mother in law and i are disabled. she converted 2/3 of it into a bedroom for my son (we moved in last year). we are now converting the remaining portion into her crafting area/over flow kitchen storage/upright freezer space. my late father in law was a mechanic/tinkerer and it was so grimey, but already had SO MUCH SHELVING! so now its getting a fresh coat of white paint and i'm helping her organize it (she can't organize to save her life. it all goes in unmarked boxes). you are a real inspiration! and so are your guests on youtube.

Love your videos. I'm a butterfly. I never put anything away because i might forget where i put it or I'm only going to need it again in a little while. When you were sharing with us what time to watch the show, I think you may have mixed something up. Central time is an hour earlier (not an hour later) than eastern time. 8pm Eastern and 7 pm Central.

I’m so excited to watch this video. I’m in a 700 square foot single floor house (2.5 bedroom). Single Mom with three kids living here. Two are teens, and my daughters room is off the back of my boys room. I’ve been trying to move for a long time and I’ve given up on our current space. I hate how cramped we are no matter how clean it is or how much I get rid of. I have no motivation to take care of my current house anymore because I am done with it! How do I tackle my disaster? I have adhd and get overwhelmed with it.

Hi! This was a wonderful transformation. I wish I could have a virtual advisor for my projects. I'm figuring things out slowly and I've come up with what my end goals are..... ............. one of the biggest limitations is being a RENTER! Trying not to put holes in the walls and those blasted electric heaters along the baseboards that prevent putting things against those walls. It's taking me months & months, but I'm still making forward progress bit by bit. I get so inspired from your videos. Thx Cas.

I’m so jealous. My ability to get rid of unnecessary things is non existent. I will have shoulder surgery around sr of April,so I know my house is not going to get done for a long time but I still have hope.
