As a fan your suppose to know that 15 years before this match the move that got countered was used in there original finish. 1...2...3 HUGE POP!!!! from a 2,000 person crowd in a 20,000 seat arena.

I would advise fans to not subscribe to WON. I'm sorry, but if the very first thing you compliment is the story and you ignore the wrestling itself, that means the match just wasn't very good. Every other match on the show was able to tell a good story AND be a good wrestling match. But Punk vs McIntyre we can ignore the let down on the wrestling front because of the story.

CM Punk is limited in the ring and may never reach his former glory as age takes its toll. But the WWE excel at smoke and mirrors to protect people who are banged up and with a little help from capable performers (and possibly supplements?), they can make things work. Was it silly? Yeah. Was it dumb? I dunno, depends on what you enjoy. Did it get the crowd hot, though? Oh yeah. No doubt about that. Is that a good thing? Ummm.. Do you like Taylor Swift? If not, why? I mean, she's arguably one of (if not THE) biggest thing in music and possibly entertainment. Not liking the most popular thing is apparently a bad thing around these parts (and according to Punk, kinda sorta). So, I guess we have a lot of Swities in the comments section, huh? I don't have issues with Swifties and Taylor Swift herself, but, it's not for me. It was a throwback to a time when holds meant less and angles meant more (the Attitude Era). Again, whether that's good or bad depends on what floats your boat.

My guess is they want Punk/Drew/Seth for Mania. Punk could pop a crowd and sell tons of merch by coming out and picking his nose (not judging anyone, but it is what it is), which is more or less the plan moving forward I'm sure. He doesn't need a belt and the feud (so far) proved he doesn't even need to get physical (really) and the WWE can cover up any blemishes easily. He's pure Attitude Era post-neck injury Steve Austin. Whether they feel a need to make it into a straight wrestling match (for whatever reason) or go for the standard modern WWE anything goes match, Punk and Drew can carry his fragile body and take all the bumps. Look what they did with The Rock at Mania. The only thing is the sheer amount of PLE the WWE put out and the need to milk Punk for as long as they can before he gets injured, retires or throws a tantrum. This would have been much easier to pull off in the 80's where you had like 4 PPV a year and could just do promos on Superstars and Prime Time or what not.

Punk stole Bryan's life, it should have been him and Maria... And if should have been Bryan vs Drew at Summerslam

Like I said elsewhere, pure post-neck injury Austin. He couldn't go in the ring so they had him do stuff like kick Goldust into a portable chemical toilet and crack jokes. Punk doesn't need to do anything but show up to get a pop and sell merch. He's coasting on his past the way Solo coasted on the Bloodline for heat. Heck, he's no longer a rebel in any way, shape or form. He's more corporate than ever but STILL has people thinking of him as the guy who did the pipe bomb. Good for him, but yeah, for many fans this is like 80's Flair/JCP marks watching a mid 80's Hogan main event title defense. Hogan was drawing more than Flair but arguably doing a lot less work "in ring".
