Aaaaaah Study in Emerald 1st & 2nd edition are some of my favourite games. Such crazy oddities. I'm all in on this one.

I hope this will be the version of the game, that gets to my table more often. Love the other two, but I had to re-learn them every time I wanted to play them.

I, for one, am happy to see a Cthulhu themed board game. It's a rare sight to see, and board games themed around Cthulhu and Lovecraftian horror in general are just so creative, original, and ambitious. I can't recall any other Cthulhu themed board games that exist out there, honestly.

is there a good demonstartion of the game being played, even if it just a prototype to get an idea how to runs. I learn better by demonstration than just being told. I've avoided most H.P.Lovecraft inspired games because they most come down to combat which isn't what the stories were ever about. Don't get me wrong, I did love Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (nintendo gamecube), Bloodborne (playstation 4), and The Secret World (PC), I prefer horror to be less direct combative such as Call Of Cthulhu: Dark Corners Of The Earth (PC) until you escape the town and are required to go back, and begin a shooting spree. Yeah there aren't really all that many Cthulhu inspired works that don't have combat in them. I've got Mansions of Madness 2nd edition, and Arkham Horror: The Card Game which are fine-ish. I prefer Fate of the Elder Gods even though you can kind of attack other players. Harshest aspect that I gleened from this game was it would really be best with more than 2 people, which is quite a stretch for me.
