CNA | On The Red Dot | S7 E14 - Discovering grandma's roots 

Having watched the episode, I think that the amount of hate Simorrah is getting is excessive and unacceptable. Although her Grandma may be an elder and therefore deserves Simorrah's respect, it is important to recognize that she was unreasonable at times and therefore the conflict between her and Simorrah cannot be solely attributed to Simorrah's attitude. With her Grandmother's short temper and lack of flexibility, Simorrah's frustration towards her Grandmother is understandable and thus it would not be fair to peg her as being ungrateful. While I do not know Simorrah in person, I trust that she is a pleasant girl and I don't think that people should be so quick to judge based on what is portrayed on screen. That being said, I agree that Simorrah could have handled the disagreements between herself and her Grandmother better by giving in more out of respect. Regardless of who is in the wrong, neither of them deserves hate as they were kind enough to open up their lives for us to learn from their experiences. For that, they should be appreciated rather than hated on. If you were Simorrah's Grandmother, how would you feel seeing people openly hand on your Grandaughter?

Y'all need to chill out, she's just 12 and she's still learning! The reason why she hates her grandma so much it's because the lacking communication between them I'm sure she'll appreciate more after learning so much about her grandma I mean, stop giving so many negative comments tho, I was disrespectful to my grandparents as well when I was young. It's because they scolded me all the time, as time goes on, I start to know they're teaching manners and now I sayang them a lot! Giver her some times guys :)

Why all the criticism towards Simorrah?? You can visibly see throughout the video, how she grew to be more respectful and understanding towards her grandma. She's just a pre-teen in this video, and prob going through puberty too, she even stated she can be moody sometimes lolol that's self-awareness on her part. Ok lah she was a tad rude in the beginning in terms of her speech and behaviour, especially when she rolled her eyes. But this is also bc there is a lack of communication and miscommunication between them. Towards the middle and the end of the video, you could see that because both of them talked it out at the lunch place, they had a better understanding towards one another and both actively made efforts to communicate with one another. Simorrah was also much more respectful to her grandma as the video progresses. Really like this video :)) I wish I could be close to my grandmothers too, however they only speak dialect fluently and some mandarin chinese and both my grandfathers have passed too. I'm trying to learn dialect rn so that I can speak with my grandmas, but I really envy people who can have full-length conversations with their grandparents. So if you have this fortune, don't waste it! Get close to your grandparents, we really have a lot to learn from them!

This is a good coverage illustrating the pains of generation gap. I enjoyed that they both are able to bridge the gap by introducing peranakan history and culinary, and technology to each other. It is awesome they cleared the air and able to understand each other better.

Aiyo why so rude to grandma? She should learn how to appreciate her own grandma. Then in the future when her grandma is no longer around, she will be full of regrets...

My grandmother was the only person who showed me love and affection in my family. So many times I've wished she were here and miss her dearly.

Idk.. This grandchild is really disrespectful. My parents would prolly slap and beat me if I ever treat my grandmother like this. As our grandparents grow older, they may start getting annoying. However dont forget, when we were babies and all.. They was the one tending to us most of the time when our parents are busy working.

After watching Simorrah, I am reconsidering my plans to adopt.

Such a sweet and happy ending. The storyline was probably scripted to a certain extent if not there is no "drama" to watch. Give Simorrah some slack. She is just a teenager & grandma was just grandma.
